I had a leak in the drain from the washer and dryer in the kitchen so it was gray water. It's not a big leak, but it was a leak and was starting to smell under the house so I called one plumbing company and they were real busy for at least a week and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Ray Lusk and they could be there in 30 minutes and they were and he looked at it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He took pictures. He took a video. I knew exactly what they were gonna do[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] he said OK let me make a phone call. See how much they wanna charge you came back. This is not a big deal. It was cutting out cast-iron and putting in PVC in place so at the most maybe a two hour job at the most he came back with almost a $2000 bill which was outrageous. I couldn't believe it. I said well you know I can't afford that. I guess I'll just have to put up with it so he left. He came back with a $1200 bill and I said no I'm not doing that either. He finally came back one more time with $1000 at the most they should've called $600. It was a $15 stick. It was a 10 foot stick of 3 inch PVC I looked it up no excuse me 2 inch PVC I looked it up. It cost $15. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did it because I didn't have any choice. I needed it done that day because I was going back to work and I didn't know if there would be another plumber available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Someone had paid the money, but that is outrageous. That is outrageous that is thievery that they would even think that I would be that stupid to believe that it cost that much it's outrageous and I'll never call them back again. If I have time to get somebody else, I will not the job was top quality you ain't gonna have to worry about they did. He did a great job. He showed me pictures, but to me that was just an insult. Feel the tech was dishonest. We were charged a lot and our problem was not resolved. We had a stopped sewer line. Called Ray Lusk. Specifically asked for a camera so we could see what was the problem. Tech told us a pipe had collapsed and we needed to call the office and schedule someone to come dig up and replace the pipe. We asked to see images and asked for them to be sent to us. The tech would not show us any imaging. We called a second company. They sent a more polite tech. Charged us less to actually fix the problem. Pipe not collapsed. There were roots growing in it. This tech showed us before and after images of pipe. And let us look at his screen while he had camera down the pipe. Found and fixed the actual problem and charged less than Ray Lusk. The Ray Lusk tech mainly seemed concerned with getting money out of us. Finding and fixing our issue was secondary at best. read more

I paid around $180 for a guy to walk in my house and tell me I needed to regrout my shower floor or it was my shower pan. Didn't check for leaks. Roto Rooster came 2 days later and found a cooper pipe had busted in my concrete foundation. My floors had to be pulled up in 3 rooms and my hallway. Not good service from Ray Lusk Plumbing. I'm a happy returning customer of Ray Lusk Plumbing. I recently called them about a leak under my sink. I knew it wasn't coming from the hot or cold water lines, so I gave them a call at 501-290-1297. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was really impressed that someone answered right away -- no recordings or phone menus like I've experienced with other plumbing companies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person I spoke with was polite, helpful, and got me a same-day appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They told me the plumber would arrive between 10:00 and 12:00, and around 10:15 he called to let me know he was on his way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once he arrived, I explained the problem and he got straight to work. It didn't take long for him to figure out the garbage disposal was leaking and needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote (I had to screenshot it since he couldn't send it), and once I approved, he got it done. Luckily, he had a new disposal on the truck, so the whole job was finished within a couple of hours. He even cleaned up the area before he left, which I really appreciated. Overall, I'm super happy with the service. Everyone I spoke to -- from the office to the plumber -- was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had a sink stopped up and they claimed they ran the entire line in my house when in reality they only ran water & disposal til they got it to drain. He goes over turns the shower in put his ear up to it then turns water off. He then stated that he needs to cut the wall out in my closet to see the pipes, I explained the other company was able to look under the crawl space to see the issue and he was very much against going down there. I asked if there was a charge to cutting the wall he said yes I told him I didn't want a big hole in the wall if the job couldn't be fixed (or affordable) to do. I told him he could go under the house and he refused I then told him that I'll move on to another company he then wanted to charge me for him coming out?!?! I was like this was a free consultation and he stated that b/c I didn't allow him to cut a hole in my wall that I didn't allow them to find out what the issue was, again I told him he could go under the house which he refused again. He was very arrogant and rude and said he would have to charge a diagnostic fee after I was told this would free and after I have specifically told them what the issue was. We had a small leak we knew about in an outdoor faucet, and an unusually high water bill, so I asked them to come and take a look. The folks were easy to reach on the phone, and booked me a visit easily (it was about a week out, since there was nothing urgent going on) The tech called about ten minutes before the time window they gave me, and showed up on time (*to the minute* which can't possibly happen every time, but worth mentioning). Once here, he quickly diagnosed the problem, and talked me through what he was thinking as he investigated. He also tried first to find a repair, rather than replace, but after he got the faucet disassembled we both saw it was beyond hope, so he got it replaced in no time. He was perfectly happy to answer some questions, check some other outdoor spigots, and when I talked about some odd quirks we had inside the house, without missing a beat he went under the house, changed out our pressure regulator, and solved all sorts of appliance issues we've had for YEARS. Ray Lusk was contracted to do a sewer line repair for my neighbor and the line was 30 feet inside my property line. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The crew met with me prior to starting the job and I signed a permission for them to enter my property for repairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After excavating with a mini excavator down 13 feet, the line was repaired. The crew who excavated the hole filled the hole about 70% of what I would consider filled and left the remaining clay and shale spread over 120 sf of my deck and back yard. I also had a pallet's worth of damage to my newly sodded back yard from their equipment. I have taken the hit to repair the yard and excavate my deck. Now I have discovered sprinkler breaks that only could have occurred during this work during the spring. The permission slip was not a full stop hold harmless agreement. That is a legal device that would be many pages, not one. The rule is you break it, you buy it out in the world of homeowners harmed by contractors. I had a cartridge stuck in bathroom faucet ,hot water side. I didn't want to pull it out myself thinking I would damage threads. I called Ray Lusk plumber, he came in my house tried to get bottom half of cartridge out he went outside got needle point plyers from van , pulled it out , and replaced with customer provided cartridge, who I may add, already had faucet handle taken off , and water was already turned. He charged $180 for 20 minutes of work. I realize plumbers are expensive, but that seems a bit excessive. I am thinking about asking the BBB what they think of this. read more

I had an initial positive experience here for pipe to be snaked. Decided to use them again for 2 dripping faucets. The service person said my pressure was high. Rec digging up my yard to replace a part and then gave me a huge estimate to redo faucets in the home at 300+ an hour labor. What a scam. Had another plumber out. They rec changing faucets. Add to that his friendly personality, and I couldn't ask for a better tech! Very nice job, Shawn! I gave a 4 vs 5-star rating because of the price that Ray Lusk charged to repair our hot water heater. I felt it was a bit excessive. I was charged $502.49 which includes tax, to replace both thermostats and both elements in our hot water heater. A quick search online shows that two AO Smith thermostats and two elements for a 50gal water heater can be purchased for about $35.00. It's probably even less when purchased wholesale. Ray Lusk charges $144.00 for a service call and a diagnosis. So $144.00 plus $35.00 is $179.00, which leaves a balance of $323.47 for labor. Shawn replaced both thermostats and both elements in less than 90 minutes, which means that the labor cost was $242.61 per hour. I just feel that's a little high for central Arkansas. read more
