Most of our party's dinner plates came with a trip to the salad bar however they seemed to have trouble keeping it stocked and once they would restock it would be out within minutes. The food was correct when brought our and the portions we're a good size. I had the catfish plate which had like 8 pieces of fish and two hush puppies and fries. It was good, nothing to write home about though. Liked that it was on the lake so there was a nice view.

We…read morewere there for 2.5 days and we managed to finish ALL of the (walkable) trails in the whole park. The park is small but gorgeous and has lots of things to do. Camping, swimming, fish, kayak/canoe... we did two evening swims, and one where it was completely secluded. Absolutely magical. Sadly didn't spot any gators during this trip, but we saw lots of deer and armadillos! The mosquitoes are wicked tho so be sure to pack loooots of bug spray. Our bug spray had DEET in it and although it detered them a bit, it didn't stop them fully. It also rained twice for a little bit over the span of two days so that was really nice considering we come from austin and we haven't seen rain in a few months. Our first shelter actually ended up flooding so staff allowed us to love our things into another available and dry shelter. So anyway - overall we had the most amazing camping trip here. The cabins are abit rundown, think hunting cabin, but their is AC and hot water!. The cabins are less than 100ft from the water an if you have. Boat you can roll it right up to the bank next to your cabin. At less than 50 bucks a night it's not a bad deal an the view is excellent! The campsite is at the end of a farm road so theirs no traffic other than other campers an bring your side by side or four wheeler! I do recommend this place, just make sure to bring groceries an such as the town of Broaddus doesn't have much.

Woke up the next morning not feeling well. Texted him and asked for another night. Not a problem. The park is very well kept. Plenty of room to exercise my service animal for hearing. Darrel and his wife live in a house a couple hundred yards away and have a clear view of the RV Park. Most of the campers seem to be outdoors men and woman and use it as their base camp. Everyone was well behaved. If your ever near Jasper Texas this is a prime spot to stay.
