He asked all the right questions and listened to my answers. I am now waiting for the first draft which should arrive in a month. Update: I had my second meeting to review the draft of the trust. I met with the principal and the attorney and was very pleased with the way the matter was handled. We tevieeed the document discussed what I needed to do and what they needed to do to fully execute all the trust. What's nice is they offered to meet at no additional cost with my family to go over the trust so that everyone understands. The other thing, I like about the firm is that they continue to serve the clients beyond the drafting of the legal documents. They offer periodic client workshops to help them continue to maintain their plans to meet cha needs.

We went down and met them in a small rented office space at the San Jose airport and they convinced us to sign up for a $2,000 living trust. We gave them $1,000 on the spot. Then...... nothing. We didn't hear any follow up. We contacted them and asked about next steps. We asked if there was any form or anything to fill out with various questions. But they just said "just tell us what you want and we'll draft it for you". Huh? So time just went by, and 5 years later I was out of work for an entire year. So we started searching every way to pull together money. I contacted Copenbarger again and told them of my unemployment situation. And, since nothing had been done, I asked them to refund my $1,000. THEY REFUSED! (Yet they did offer to complete the trust for an additional $1,000...) Seriously? I wrote to them 2 more times over the following 10 years. Nothing. These people are a scam. They don't really have an office in San Jose, just a rental space at the private jet port at San Jose airport (must be nice flying around on your private jet with our money!). Please do not use them. Even if they came to your church and seem like decent people. Go find a local company to do your trust. A trust should be about $1,500 to $2,000. No need to use a Southern California firm who will fly off with your money and leave you to wonder what to do next. And even if you are unemployed and out of money, don't think that they have a kind enough heart to give your money back. They do not.
