I guess they had some really bad experiences, but how was I to know this? They rudely dismissed me and sneered that I should call where I arranged the reservation--which I did--and found another place 20 minutes away, fortunately. Bottomline--they do not honor their advertising and blame the innocent customer. Buyer beware--what else will they choose not to honor? BRW, try Red Roof Inn if you need a pet friendly place.

Could not call the front desk as the phone cord had been literally ripped out of the phone. After notifying the desk they informed there was nothing that could be done till 9. They did give us another room two rooms down however I could not sleep the rest of the night as I could still barely hear it. That room had no cable in the phone at all so again no way of calling the front desk incase of an emergency. Over all I got about 3 hours of sleep and we left at around 5 in the morning, as if I am not going to get any more sleep might as well continue on and make some progress. Also the personal "hotel" coffee maker had no plastic holder to hold the coffee pod in place, in any room. Was able to make a cup almost burning my fingers. The front desk receptionist was friendly.

However, that is not always possible, especially when traveling to smaller towns. In West Monroe, your options are limited to this level of hotel from all of the big chains. With that in mind, I encourage you to consider this Fairfield. Because of this hotel, I have chosen Fairfields across the country. I find that they are either great like this location or terrible. I would like more consistency across the brand so maybe those owners should travel here and see how they do it. The hotel is clean, has plenty of parking, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. I always find a good parking spot and the hotel is a quick drive from or onto the interstate. Despite being close to the highway, I rarely hear road noise. She was able to get me a room at the West Monroe location after midnight, but only for 1 night and at a higher rate. Ciera would have Denice (manager) call me in the morning. I went there and they said I had to check out in the morning. I checked out at 830am, Denice never called so I went back, she was not there and this hotel was still sold out. Left it up to me again. Luckily a room opened up at the West Monroe location and I was then able to stay there for the remaining 5 nights, again for more money than my original reservation. I have tried to reach Denice multiple times and to this day I have not heard a word from her. We are Hilton gold members. We travel a decent amount. This is not how things are handled when you oversell.

This is my second casino experience; Riverwalk isn't fancy like the Beau Rivage on the Coast. Mostly penny slots and games which was fine by me. I didn't want to loose a ton; just have a little fun for the evening. I gave the GF $30 and off she went! We jumped around a bit; having luck here and there. When the drink dude finally came around I tipped big with instructions to keep 'em coming! That worked pretty well for the evening. GF comes back broke an hour or so later. I left her $20 ahead! Buddy and I ended up over at the video poker table actually near the drink station so we were covered on drinks from 20ft away. We finally called it a night and headed to our clean rooms. Woke up refreshed right next to the mighty Mississippi River. Couple of things to point on to future visitors. YES, you can smoke in the casino so there's gonna be a smoke smell. If your offended by that smell stay away; smokers like me enjoying a rare indoor smoking experience in a public building. There is NO SMOKING in the hotel tower itself so there's that. One star knocked off because this is the only hotel in modern times where there wasn't a mini fridge in the room. We use them to keep my GF's insulin cool while traveling.
