I love walking at Millennium Park. I have been exercising here for many years. There are miles and…read moremiles of paths to explore. I enjoy mixing up my different routes to go different distances. There are several small lakes, one of which has a beach and other activities such as paddle boats. There are two different entrances to the park, which helps spread visitors out on really busy days like weekends. On the Secchia Meadows side, there is a nice pavillon where my friends had their wedding. I highly recommend Millennium Park for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors, spotting creatures such as deer, turtles, muskrats, eagles, and more.

I've got lots of thoughts running through my head, simultaneously, all the time. So when I stepped…read moreup to the check-in counter at Millennium Park Boat Rentals, the thoughts in my head were: Wow! It only costs $8 per hour to rent a kayak? Sweet! Wow! These people checking me in and telling me safety information are incredibly young! Will they be able to save me and my family if our kayaks flip over and we fall into the lake? Wow! What a beautiful day! But I wonder how often people fall into the lake. I also wonder how deep the lake is. I also wonder if it's possible to be trapped underwater if your kayak flips over. In the end, I decided to kick it on the sandy beach and wave at my family as they happily paddled on the lake. They had a great time kayaking. I had a great time not kayaking. Like Hot Chocolate says: Everyone's a winner, baby. Kayaks are either single-person or double, and we used one of each. There are very few instructions given, which was a little alarming to me. (You mean you just assume we know what we're doing?!) But fortunately, my family knew what they were doing, so they didn't need much instruction to get themselves out on the water. As you paddle around the lake, you pass the Millennium Park beach and splash pad, plus little islands here and there. There is about four miles of shoreline to explore. I was told that the lake was nice and calm, and that it was a pleasant time on the water. We rented kayaks, but Millennium Park Boat Rentals also offers canoes, paddle boats and stand-up paddle boards to rent. Keep in mind that rentals are seasonal -- this place is only open from Memorial Day-ish to Labor Day-ish.

Nestled in the back roads of Montague is this hidden gem and it is full of beautiful scenery along the river. White River is clean and typically has a slower flow to it. Happy Mohawk has the transportation covered for when you first get on the River and when you get off the river depending on where you are getting on and off at. It is very helpful and makes the experience worth free. I definitely recommend Happy Mohawk. Bring sunscreen and wear a hat! It can get super busy on the weekends during peak summer months so plan ahead!

Having a non-racist name would be an excellent change. Spending a summer day floating down the White River has become an annual tradition for a small group of friends and this business makes it easy. The phones and front desk is managed by a bunch of teenagers who sometimes provide spotty service, but we've learned to keep our expectations low in that regard. This Canoe Livery is perfect on the essentials, though. We like the variety of tube styles (some have a bottom for those chilly early summer days, some have a cup holder, some are kid sized). The way the process works is you pay a fee to rent your tube, then they will bus you to a drop off point. You float down the river for 2-3 hours, enjoying sunshine, cool water and forest views. You will then reach a landing (which is also the place you departed from). It's obvious and impossible to miss. We recommend a cooler for your favorite beverages and a dry bag to keep your important items safe. The front desk will hold your keys while you float, which isn't a bad idea. We've seen people lose their keys on the river before. In these times when many of us are looking for more outdoor activities, a river float is one of our favorites. This canoe livery does a great job of making the process smooth and simple!

With that in mind, it's not a party campground. It is great, however, to get good rest for your next day's adventures in the dunes, on the lake, or in the woods! The new restaurant is delicious, & the shower house is clean. It's kid/dog friendly. I like it here over some of the other loud commercial camp grounds. Your experience here really depends on what you want out of a campground. I prefer a good night's sleep, to be ready for the next day adventures of the area, over hearing radios and giggling all night.

First off, I just want to say PLEASE READ ALL reviews before deciding on a camping spot. We did…read moreAFTER reserving this place and that was a mistake. Despite the bad reviews, we still decided to give it a try. This place is absolutely horrible! It does't even deserve a 1 STAR!!!Their rules are ridiculous! If your trying to have a good time with family and friends DO NOT consider this place! They have no consideration to privacy what's so ever! They will walk onto your site literally and tell you go to bed. If your trying to sleep in your tent with music or even watching YOuTube, they will shine a light into your tent and tell you to turn it off. If they have given a verbal warning, consider yourself a target. After two verbal warnings, they WILL evict you. They have workers watching you from all around the park. The workers are seasonal members; therefore, you have no idea people are watching you. The speed limit is 5mph in the park, yet they go faster than that on their golf carts. To top it off, their facilities are gross. They do not restock the bathrooms throughout the day at all. They decided to evict our family at 9 o'clock at night. Even though over half of our family and friends left earlier because of how they harassed us at night to go to bed. They waited all day to tell us,right before it was dark. We were originally told we had 20 minutes to get out, but my husband said that's "impossible!" Keep in mind we had our 7 kids, 1 pop up, and 4 tents. He said if we didn't leave, the police would be called for trespassing. Luckily, nobody was drinking because of the harassment we experienced from the previous night. But what would have happened,if we had been drinking? To top it off who tells someone to leave at dark? Why would they wait till 9pm to do that? My husband's credit card was also charged $200.00 with no specific explanation of any fee's. At the bottom of the the eviction letter, it stated there will be a fee imposed for an eviction. But nothing was explained on what the fee was for. We thought they would just keep our deposit. I am pretty sure the campsite was picked up pretty well but keep in mind it was dark when we left. We had to use our headlights on our cars to see anything. But $200.00???? They are profiting on what they think is "Unacceptable noise!" Highway robbery!!!!Not only were we forced to leave a day early, they kept our deposit, plus charged us an eviction fee. We paid for 3 nights but was only there for 2 nights. It ended up costing over $700.00 just for camping with nothing FABULOUS at all! I do not recommend this place! Please do not give them your business!!! We also reported this to the local sheriff. He said it isn't right and that he hears about this all the time, but can't really do anything about it. Just STaY CLEAR of this place people!
