However, seeing that I was there on a Sunday, the branch was closed. Don't fret, though. The ABMs were available. There are two entrances. The branch entrance in the mall was closed. The other door by the main mall entrance was available, which leads you to the ABMs. There are at least four ABMs. I didn't look closely to my right, as there was a couple standing there. Anyways, I had no problem withdrawing cash and was good to go. The ABM side was clean. If you are depositing a cheque or cash, you still need an envelope to complete your transaction at any ABM here. I went on an odyssey with these folks…read more I went to open an account with them for a Queen's school club, as the powers-that-be (the SGPS) that had been previously holding our funds wanted to make its clubs more independant. I made about four trips total with various documentation. Each time I was told something different was missing from my documents, or something that I was told I didn't need was in fact something I DID need, etc. Not a huge deal, if there's really something that they legally require that I didn't have--frustrating that there didn't seem to be any kind of consensus between workers, but not the reason for the one star. On my third trip I had finally had everything they needed to open an account--seemingly. The worker needed to call someone to ask if I needed to have someone already AT the union vouch for me, basically (again, this was my third time in, nobody had ever told me of this requirement--you'd think they would, since if I didn't HAVE that, it'd make all of this running around a huge waste of time). They said they'd call me once they'd reviewed everything and let me know. Two weeks pass. I went in to see what was up. I was informed smilingly that my documents had been shredded ages ago because they'd heard that the SGPS, which had sent me off to find independent banking, had changed their mind and wanted our club's account back! I hadn't heard anything about this, from the SGPS or the Credit Union, nor did they apparently think I might want a CHOICE in where my club's funds went. They just assumed we'd been informed--I hadn't. So I tracked back to the SGPS and was informed that this was not the case (politely, though horrified that the Credit Union was making such claims). Which was sort of humiliating and a total waste of time. By this point I had completely had it with the Credit Union and ended up going to the Limestone Credit Union instead--and guess what? In less than an hour I had an account. I'm not sure if they were lying to get me off their backs (my account was only around 600 dollars) though I think it's more likely that they were dealing with some other organization at Queen's and assumed mine fell under that umbrella. Still no excuse not to dismiss us so rudely and carelessly without so much as a token phone call--they made so many assumptions without once getting in contact with me, I can't imagine leaving my money in their care and having to deal the wildly different expectations of the workers every time I needed to change something. Go to the Limestone Credit Union instead. Every interaction I've had with them has been friendly, helpful, swift, and diligent.

I'm 100% convinced this branch in Belleville, Ontario is rife with sexism and other systemic forms…read moreof discrimination, including racism. It's not a gender, nor race balanced workplace. It's all old white women working there. A woman employee at the front door was rude to me. I had to sanitize my hands at the front door - bank policy. She demanded why I was here. I wanted to see a teller. She barked at me "Get in line". I suspect her hostility is discrimination against men dressed in shorts and a hoody. I could see other clients dressed in business clothes. The teller, another women was not friendly at all - very cold and callous. It was horrible. They're nasty and don't tell you why they're behaving so towards you. So, it all points to discrimination.

I told her I had lost my entire wallet, my dad had just died, and i just need to pay my rent. She went to talk to someone in a room and came out and asked me to sign a piece of paper. She told me I;d have to talk to another women. This Lady tried to tell me my account was being compromised and would be on hold for 10 days and investigated. I begged her that i was the right person that i would come back right away with every document I kept for the last 7 years. She maliciously locked my account for absolutely no reason. In a time of depression this women put me over the edge, ruined my job, ruined my living situation and my mental health. The day this atrocious women realized i WAS the right person and my account was back. The teller i spoke to was so confused and apologized to me for them locking my account. The women came out and told me everything that was compromised was repaid. There was NOTHING done with my account. to this day I wish this women get everything she deserves, she is competely i ncompetent, and a disgusting human being. I had to go to td they opened an account for me right away so i could get my money i was working for to pay my rent. They give me a bank card with no question. Their tellers are all super nice. Unlike RBC they were all rude and very personal every singe time i needed something.

I can't say enough nice things about this bank's branch manager Scott. I had a hacker get access to…read moremy debit card and they stole $2000 out of my account through PayPal. I went in and talked to Scott and he actually cared unlike the Carthage branch workers. He took time to open up a new account for me and tried to get me a line of credit while my money in my account was tied up. He put thru to the fraud department a 48 hour hardship so I got my money back in around 3 days. Scott really went above and beyond to try to help me, the little guy. I will forever be grateful as I was very upset and stressed cause I had no other money to live on while the fraud team investigated.
