I was instructed to complete a form that would give Jeff our financial picture and also to bring along our last 3 years of tax returns so he could best advise me. I double-checked again to make sure this was free and I was assured it was. When I arrived at their office I was greeted enthusiastically by their staff and then Jeff came out to meet me. Jeff spent over an hour going over our financials and tax returns and gave (again "gave" is the operant word since this was free) me great advice about upcoming tax law changes. Jeff is very knowledgable, professional, friendly, and pleasant. He listened patiently while I laid out our finances and only spoke for clarification. He then analyzed our situation and made some great suggestions. At then end of our time, I thanked him profusely and he assured me he was in this business to help people make good financial decisions and his reward was my thanks. I am at that age where you evaluate if working may be a financial hinderance vs a benefit. One should have that problem and I am grateful to consult with experts to help me figure it out. I met with Shaun who was more that helpful and spent an hour and a half looking at charts, explaining pros and cons and what the Fidelity Team could do for me as I venture into this phase of my life. Everyday since I paid my premium, Fidelity has attempted to recharge me for me an additional payment. I called and spoke with Lisa P5258 and Lori X4655 and both of them refused to fix the issue and said I was subject to change my payments to quarterly or pay an additional payment despite having already paid this months premium. All other times I've spoke with customer service agents, they have all been helpful. Lori and Lisa are two of the most unhelpful agents I have encountered. Why have a policy with an unhelpful agents?

Getting my name (and the accountant's name) on this account had to run through the Wells Fargo bureaucracy, but it seemed to be easier than my parallel efforts with another silo that handles our checking account. It also helps that I'm a Wells Fargo Advisor customer (at another branch) and my guy has been great in helping me out when needed. Now that I'm in a "run and maintain" mode, phone calls are returned and our accountant gets what she needs. And at least in today's stock market, returns are pretty good.
