I've never heard anything good about Randolph Brooks. Either from people who have worked there, one girl said they are so overly focused on sales to the point where she was so stressed out and was looking for other employment. Or from customers who said they weren't happy with the service that they were getting. Now I have my own story. My boyfriend who is an authorized signer on one of my cards went there to cash a check. They informed him that there is a 3 dollar check cashing fee for non-customers, which is fine most places have them. What is not fine is that they asked him for another form of ID and said that a card with his name on it would suffice, then proceeded to do a cash advance on that card without his consent. Now I have a cash advance for 3 dollars on my credit card and I'm getting a 10 dollar transaction fee for it. I'm currently working with Chase to find out what I can do about this, but I'm so appalled that any financial institution would do this. I used to work at PECU and currently work at another bank, and I wouldn't ever consider doing such a transaction without informing my customer. Long story short, if you're looking for a credit union, go somewhere else because this one is awful. read more

This credit union has free checks if ordered through net branch and rewards you for using your debit card. You can't beat that. At the same time you are nothing more than a number to them. They do not treat you with respect of any kind. Good luck if you try to get a mortgage. I spoke with them for over 2 months. Couldn't ever get any info from them. So I went back to my original lender Willow Bend Mortgage co. and my loan was completed in less than a month. Great rewards but horrible customer service. Choose great rewards or customer service. this is the second time I have incurred "insufficient fees" for no reason no negative transactions occurred only pending, but transfer kept pending charges from ACTUALLY becoming overdrawn. Used to give RBFCU high praises, and highly recommended them, but NO MORE... $100 on fees without a valid reason. There are other banks out there even Credit Unions and at this point I am canceling my account and take my business elsewhere. Personally recommend you do as well and avoid RBFCU for any financial need. I am disabled and on a fixed income and every penny counts and cannot be wasted on needless and unwarranted fees. read more

Do not bank with this institution. Their customer support is non-existent and when you do get to speak with someone, they are incompetent, condescending, and utterly useless. Their mobile apps are useless. You cannot trust your available balance and they will charge you "Convenience fees" any time they want, regardless of how much you have in your account. They are total crooks and I will be closing my accounts, posting, and telling everyone I know in my community and social media of my experiences and hope that no one has to experience what I had to. Their "network" was down and you couldn't use your debit/credit cards and they never notified ANY of their customers, leaving everyone that tried to make purchases the night before a hurricane with no funds to prepare for it. At first I liked RBFCU-free checking and all. Then, I applied for a loan offering security of my savings account for the loan. They turned me down when I had adequate security. I let that go. Then, I contacted them about a problem with someone using my debit card number to do transactions on Facebook. They refused to put the money back. I let that go. I am working with Facebook to get this resolved. Then, they were charging me overdraft fees when I had adequate money in the bank to cover the actual transaction because I had pending charges that were independent of the transaction. So I got charged overdraft charges for each charge, plus two more overdraft fees for no reason. This is crooked and I hope someone will file a class action lawsuit against them for this soon. I switched to this bank because I heard good things about them and was trying to get away from Wells Fargo. But since joining I've paid more ridiculous fees because at the end of the day they're all about making money. When you try to argue with them they refer you to the huge manifesto you agreed to when you signed up. So yes, they are "allowed" to charge these fees but that doesn't mean that it's always right! Hard to get approvals for loans even for loyal customers; even set up my LOC for overdraft protection but failed to mark it as overdraft protection then refused to work with me on "overdraft fees".
