My partner and I were walking around the store with about 8 other patrons and we noticed that three different customers tried to interact with the owner (?), a man who was searching on his phone the whole time. Two ladies were trying to talk to him about the store pup, while another guy was trying to make chit-chat and both either received a few grumbles or an inaudible response. He didn't ever look up from his phone. This type of service bums us out and we decided to return our handfuls of specimens that we carefully picked out while walking through their well-stocked store.

We not only got the part, but Adam helped us install it. He also noticed that a couple of parts on the RC car were installed incorrectly by us. He took the time re-install the parts correctly. Adam went above and beyond by providing us with great customer service! So instead of my son having to wait to use his RC car when we got home, my son can now use his car while we are visiting Eugene! The prices are great and the service is outstanding!!

This shop has been in Eugene for almost 100 years and has been in the hands of a single family (though I think in 2024 the ownership will change). I wonder how many other businesses have remained in Eugene for that long--especially that have remained in a single family for so long (maybe Dot Dotson's?). On my recent visit home I dragged my mom here with the kiddo. The shelves were a bit bare, which was a little sad and I think probably a result of online shopping. But they had some games, modern board games, lots of train stuff, remote control toys, and so on. I bought a cute little stuffed bat for the little one because it was the one she showed interest in out of those I showed her, and it made her laugh when I moved it around and its wings flapped. Haha. I know that Eugene Elites did a volunteer event here which is so awesome. It's great that the shop partnered with them on it. Support local businesses!

We are having a coastal vacation and I forgot to bring any kites for the beach. Using the Yelp app…read moreI was able to find a nearby kite store called The Kite Company... off we go. This has to be one of the most prolific kite shops I have been in. The interior is just completely flooded with a wash of colors from all sorts of kites, windsocks, spinners, you name it they have it. There is such a huge variety in here that it is almost overwhelming to decide what type of kite to get. Fortunately for me, I am a fan of the long trailing dragon kites. I ended up purchasing a 32 foot long dragon kite. I also got one of those spools that are easy to wind. The kite did come with a small spool, but the shopkeeper set it up for me as a replacement roll as a backup spool. We also ended up getting a patriotic windsock for our carport and the Mrs picked out a nice streamer windsock with a stained glass butterfly for our patio. This shop is very much customer service oriented and has a huge volume and variety, including those metallic wind spinners. In the future if I'm in the market for a large competition kite, it will be worth it to take the drive from Eugene to get here.

We had been driving for about an hour and I was thirsty beyond belief. Unfortunately, it hard for me to find caffeine free, sugar free drinks. Sugarfree is always available, Caffeine free is sometimes available, but combining both is rare. The nice lady at the counter told me that she specifically asked the owner to stock a nice variety. I was extremely grateful. As a matter of fact, as I type this from my hotel room in Roseburg, I wish I could have another cold Sierra Mist. But forget about it! Nothing here.
