Friends have boasted about their finds from this shop for years. And I found treasures today. The store is well organized and sorted so it is easier to focus on your areas of interest. I was with a group and used my time carefully. The art and craft area included stamps and stencils I can use and the furniture selection included 2 items I will go back with my own van. This is the only Vinnie's in town and it's a bit small, but the book and clothing selection is decent. The general household section is a little sparse so I rarely find anything there. The prices are on the same level as in Eugene, so it's still a good deal out here. The employees are nice and friendly, and the store is decently clean. The bathroom is a single-person bathroom way in the back of the book section and it could use some love. The parking lot is big and easy to get in and out of. This morning they were playing a sermon on the speakers which was a little weird for me as I'm used to them playing normal music, so I felt weirdly like I was being preached to. It was a little uncomfortable as a non-religious person, but I wasn't super bothered by it. Just something I noted throughout my time in the store. read more

This thrift store feels chaotic and unloved. Prices are too high. For example, I saw a used kayak for sale this weekend for $249.00. For reference, you can buy a brand new kayak at Bimart down the road, for $299.00. Furniture prices for shoddy, out of style pieces are in the $hundreds. You can go to an antique store in town and find beautiful, curated, quality pieces for the same prices. The shelves are dusty and grimy in the kitchen area. I love this location and it's a go-to every time I'm in Florence! The prices are great, it's always a scavenger hunt and I never know what I'll find. I rarely look at clothes in this store, but the housewares and book section are great. I've found many books by my favorite authors in excellent condition here. Bowls/glasses/plates that match sets I have at home. It's the perfect place to find replacements to sets if you've broken one or two. I've bought crochet needles to complete sets as well, cute handmade doilies, ect. I've found random items like a gorgeous wine cork before, with a blown glass decoration/design on it. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The person in charge of the book section knows her stuff! She's got it incredibly well organized and can help you locate just about anything there. It's impressive, and not what you would expect from a thrift store employee. It's a store I've been going to for many years and will absolutely keep returning to! read more

When I go to a second hand store, I always head to the book and audio section, most of the time with dread, however I am up for the challenge as it's always a thrill to find exactly what you want for a whole lot less than brand new! BUT.. whenever I go to St.Vinnys in Florence this extremely cool "librarian", Susan, has that department looking awesome! Boy I think some of these reviews are from people that work there. This is very, very overpriced for a thrift store. Prices are higher than Wal-Mart or Big Lots for furniture. Dining room table average 500.00. And I don't believe that includes the chairs. Prices are higher than Goodwill and Goodwill is a rip. Best place to go for very reasonable prices on everything is the South Coast Hospice and The Salvation Army in Coos Bay. read more

Upon my mother's passing three years ago (April 2018), my father generously donated multiple pick up loads of household goods, and many valuable antique collectibles that had been passed down through three generations, stopping short of a fourth. My father accidentally donated my mother's stoneware dishes given as a wedding gift in the 50s. I contacted St. Vincent De Paul, in Florence, Oregon and let them know of his mistake and requested they set aside JUST the dishes and contact me for pick up once they find them. The lady I spoke with clearly remembered his generous truck loads of donations and agreed to the return of the dishes. I sent pictures and she said she printed them out and posted them and assured me that when they got to the many, many, many buried boxes, they would look out for the dishes and call me. I spoke with this contact person monthly and she kept saying they hadn't yet gone through the buried boxes. This went on for nearly a year. Of course she said they never found the dishes. So disappointing. They got many valuable collectibles dating back to the early 1900s and possibly even late 1800s and all I asked for was the return of the 1950s stoneware set. Gone forever are the dishes that were the center of so many memories of family time and holidays passing my mother's dishes from one family member to next, dishes filled with her tasty cooking, as we gathered around the dinner table. I'll be honest, I'm a thrift store junky. Every town I travel to, I check out all the thrift stores. This by far is the best!! It's like the Macy's of SVDPaul's compared to the ones in our area (in Sacramento). Huge selection of men's, women's and children's clothes at far better prices than Goodwill (so overpriced!) If I had room in my car I would've purchased some great furniture too. Plus the staff has always been nice and helpful. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores in Florence! Very large collection of books (as with all St Vinnie's). I go mainly for the books and I'm never disappointed. I usually find several new titles that I haven't read. They seem to have a large selection of appliances, furniture and clothes. Most items look like they're in good shape.
