Do your homework and do not use Re/Max 4000 in Grand Junction especially this broker associate Anna Rickenbach. She is not friendly or professional. She says one thing and goes behind your back and switch things up making that you are the problem. A mis-directed email I received from Anna R. shows that she is not a professional real estate agent: Here is what she said about me: "This lady has called multiple times and is quite honestly kind of a pain". This agent has no understanding of the fact that an interested buyer needs to know all the details of the listing including the legal ones. The questions I had about the $7374 annual fees and other $100000.00 "assumed annual legal fees" involving the listed lot and the subdivision dues were valid questions. Her attitude raised some red flags. So, I contacted the courthouse and found out that there is an ongoing lawsuit against HOA Canyon Estates II and the property management company HOA Services. This lawsuit involves multiple violations, fraud and abuse against an elderly disabled person. We found this case to be very disturbing and we do not want to have anything to do with such dishonest people. Buyer/Seller beware! read more

We called and spoke with Amy Baldwin of reMax real estate here in Grand Junction. She told us that she's the best in the valley and if we want the best then we will pay because she "comes at a cost." Immediately put a bad taste in our mouths and decided we didn't want to work with her. She decided to come out to our house anyway but went to the WRONG HOUSE. Lol. Best in the valley but can't even go to the right house? She called and left a message. We texted her back that we are not going to work with her and she responded that she would be happy to put us in touch with some "discount brokers." Insinuating that anyone who is not her is a discount broker?!? Or just flat out being rude and condescending? I'll take someone down to earth who doesn't think they're better than everyone else. Oh! Maxim 4000 is part of Remax and the people that work there are unprofessional and rude. The Property Manager, Dex Marutzky, is an ass (to say the least). They first showed us a dirty property. They then cancelled on us without telling us. We called to ask why they never showed and we were told that they just didn't want to come. Really ?!?! Who would want to rent from these people? Not me! Barrett Kendall was supposed to show us the property and did not come. Dex and Barrett are clearly taking up space at Maxim 4000 for people that are more qualified and personable. Rented a property from them for over 2 years and over that time I did not have any need to contact them more than a few times. It was difficult to get in touch with someone but the big issues were resolved in a reasonable amount of time (i.e., when the dining room light fell off the ceiling or when the stove-top started sparking uncontrollably). Future renters beware!! Read the lease very carefully before signing. They have a mandatory cleaning fee and they also have a lock-smith come out and re-key all of the locks. You, the renter, will be paying for this. In my case, this totaled to more than $400. The house was spotless when I left and a two-pack of door knobs and deadbolts sells for $40 at Home Depot. The latest kicker to this is when I received a notice about owing another payment for some small fee or another more than 1 year after I left that house. The fee is small, but the notice starts out that I am being sent to collections for failure to pay when I was never sent a bill! This is very poor business practice. I would urge any renters of Maxim 4000 who are vacating property any time soon to keep bugging them for any final bills. And just beware that they are happy to wait for a year or more before telling you that anything is due. In summary, I loved the house, the property and the location. The experience with the property managers was a hassle and continues to haunt me. read more

This place is ridiculous, I mean the apartments are amazing and beautiful but the people who run it are ridiculous. After all yesterday trying to figure out things with the application and all the co assigning, going in and asking questions, The lady (I don't know her name) that was helping you could see her getting irritated and started to be a little rude. But after telling us our applications looked good and that we just needed to get signatures and to come back the next day. So we did that got all of our money ready because they need a security deposit which is also ridiculous, I walk in just to be told that my dog is 20 pounds too heavy after everything we had just been through an even talking with the lady, just to go back in my car and cry and then read the application where it says nowhere that the dog has to be 25 pounds it just says they cannot be a certain breed, it's just not a very good place they don't answer their phones they're not very helpful, their not good with customer service, and their not to friendly I mean the way that they just talk to you makes you feel dumb or like you just don't want to be there anymore lol read more

Probably the least accommodating and most unpleasant business I have ever tried to work with. I ignored several red flags before even going in to their office to submit an application, at which point I the attitude of the employees convinced me I shouldn't have ignored the previous warnings and saved myself a bunch of hassle. Initially I found out about them by finding a rental property on craigslist that perfectly fit both my needs and my budget. I immediately sent an email saying I was interested. With no response, a couple days later I tried calling. I looked up their website and confirmed their contact information and tried again... and again. a month and a half, three emails and more than a dozen calls later I finally got a returned call, while I was at work and couldn't answer the phone. Immediately after work I tried to call them back, but yet again no response. this happened a few more times, the only time they appear to use their phone is around 11 am. I gave them the contact information of a currently unemployed friend as the number to call back and finally he was able to speak to someone and set up a viewing of the property I was interested in, and one other similar one. The showing went fine. Afterwords I looked up the property management company online only to find that they had almost nothing but one star reviews no matter what website I looked on. The property really was a good fit though so I kept trying. I called in to the business hoping they could mitigate the concerns caused by the negative online presence, they didn't care all the property manager said was that it's a business, there's bound to be dissatisfied customers... not comforting. they also expect the full security deposit along with the application, before any papers are signed in cash or money order. I still ignored this because I liked the property and so with a large amount of cash in hand, I went to the office. there was a new guy I spoke to initially who was just about the most helpful person at the company, but he didn't know how to do anything so he asked the lady in the adjacent desk who then came to "help" me with a condescending attitude. going through my paperwork she said, again in a very condescending way, everything seemed in order except they had raised the deposit amount by fifty dollars, which didn't reflect on the website. I she said i could come back later with the proper amount but that they wouldn't accept the application otherwise. I was on my way out of town right after dropping off this application and was already running a bit late. I asked about using my credit card, or other forms of payment, but she was quite curt in telling me that she wouldn't help me find a solution short of me wasting more and more time. The whole experience has left me quite confused as to how this place has any customers. I gave them the benefit of the doubt again and again. but they just had no interest in my business. read more

Mike Miller was my Real Estate Agent. I would not have chosen him had my mother not already set him up to show us properties and I felt obligated. He refused to communicate with me my preferred method (text). At the time, I worked where I could not take phone calls and only could return calls on my breaks, lunch or after work. He would call and leave me voicemails. He didn't come across very knowledgeable and seemed like he was more for the seller than he was for me since he was friends with the listing agent and knew the buyer. After closing I discovered that they were all friends on facebook. If you are under the age of 60, I wouldn't use Mike Miller. read more

We were staying in a house that was put up for sale. When the agent, Linda Kramer, came to take pictures, we told her we needed 24 hours notice before anyone came in since I work from home, which she agreed to. Then one day, their office left a message at 8:30 am (after my workday had begun) for a 1 pm showing, certainly nowhere near 24 hours notice, and I didn't even get the message before 1 since I had already begun work. They showed up at the door anyway! I told the agent she would have to give us the 24 hours notice. Linda Kramer then called the person who had put the place up for sale and said we refused entry; they never called us to reschedule. I sent a message to the owner, Darrel Holman, who never even bothered to reply. Unscrupulous, ineffective and terrible customer service. read more

I called to get some info on a property and when they asked me for my mail I gave them my business email. I own a mobile taco kitchen and my business is called Drunk Monkey Tacos. As soon as I said the name of my business the man said,"Like that's a real thing". so answer back and say "no sir that is the name of my company" So then the man says no people make up crap like that all the time, I don't need this shit". I live out of the area and have had two homes listed for sale in Grand Junction for over a year now. The service from my Re/Max agent has been truly terrible - bottom of the barrel. Communications have been spotty and normally initiated by me. Over the course of the past year, I asked repeatedly for professional advice and concrete suggestions about how to best market the homes, and asked whether there were specific improvements that needed to be made. THIS week, after a full year, the agent informed me that one home can only be purchased with cash, because of a laundry list of issues with the property. That information was way overdue and of little use to me now. I feel that once the properties were listed, the agent let it run on auto-pilot, relying on internet searches to bring in potential buyers. I never got the sense that the agent was going beyond the bare minimum to sell the homes. Even given the added difficulty of working remotely with Re/Max, I find their performance totally unacceptable. If I weren't in a contract, I'd fire them today. As it is, I would NEVER work with this particular Re/Max affiliate again. Buyer/seller beware! read more
