We had driven by this place a number of times before we needed to kill an hour in the area. From…read morethe outside, it had seemed like a bookstore + antiques and knickknacks. But upon entering, much to my surprise, I found the best organized used bookstore I've been to in a while. Everything is organized by genre, then also alphabetized not only by author but also title--which isn't unusual in a normal bookstore, but in a used bookstore, it was such a treat! Yes, there are more mysteries and romances than other types of books, but we found some fantastic ones. We left with half a dozen hardcover books in great condition for $16! Monique and her giant dogs (who were behind the counter) are very friendly. When I want new books I think I will order them through this store (which is a service she offers)!

Just everything under the sun, and they all seem very fairly priced. My son found a number of great kids books, I found a book on Mission style furniture making, and my wife found a number of novels she was interested in. My mom has randomly asked me if I knew a used bookstore with old vet manuals (like for cows, etc) and I happened to walk by this place a couple days later, so I popped in. I found several OLD (1904-ish) farm vet type books. Upon checking out, I told the owner how thrilled I was to find them, and he recommended I go upstairs, second door, second shelf from the top, closest to the window.... he knows every book in the place! And word is he has another warehouse full of books!! They're only open 11-5 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so I plan to go back at 10:59 with snacks and stay the duration. The Montgomery Book Exchange gives me that feeling. The owner is very welcoming and will help you find what you need or leave you be to search the shelves. They like having kids there which makes it a place to bring the family. The new location on Clinton Street appears bigger than what they had on Union Street/RT 211, I don't know if it actually is but it looks it. They have regular game nights and other special events that can be seen on their Facebook page or website. One of the events that are great are their $7 bag sale that you can fill a bag for $7 on any books $7 or under. After visiting stop by The Iron Cafe next door for some delicious lunch.
