All the books are used but in excellent condition, which means prices are lower than at many other stores. It's narrow, or perhaps seems that way because of the shelves of books, but it extends into a back room. It's easy to lose track of time exploring. The aisles are decent, I suppose, but might be a problem when perusing the stacks if other people need to get by. There are two cats that roam freely, meowing loudly when they want attention, but do not otherwise bother anyone, unless they sense a kindred spirit. They kind of give this place a home-like atmosphere. I only had a few moments and that didn't give me quite enough time to figure out the layout, but things appear to be sorted by category and then by author, like most bookstores, but with some cross-over sections. The general fiction is in front. There's a nice mix of books within each category, and not many duplicate titles. Thimbleberry Books is a winner.

The selection here is HUGE and well organized. I was shocked at how terrific and well stocked the kids section is. From picture books to Chapter books, they have it all. I can't wait to show my 9 year old all the treasures here. The prices are outstanding. There is both a regular price on the inside cover and a "return credit" amount. You can read the book to your hearts content and bring it back for a credit toward a different book. How awesome is that? Also, there is a puzzle exchange at the back. I got two books to help me learn Spanish (a pandemic project of mine that is ongoing) for $7. Did I mention how much I love this bookstore?

People are rude....even buying or selling they think they are doing you a big favor... You can buy most "new" books that are actually old, that are cheaper on Amazon... Their only downside is how little they give you for quality books…read more I understand not being able to shell out of mass market trade paperbacks, but if you bring them something they will turn around and try to sell for $20+, for them to offer you like $3 or $4 for it is not uncommon. Still, I don't go to sell books there often. It's more about the thrill of the hunt. What will I find? Will it be a cool, British-cover edition of a Terry Pratchett novel? Will it be a Japanese import of an ELP concert? Will it be a cheap mug with a kitty on it? The only way to know for sure is to show up and look...

The owner told me she made them from recycled cabinets- so creative! The store has a huge mystery, horror, and romance sections. There are some smaller self-help, history, sports, and biography sections. There is also a great clearance section with some blind reads near the front door. I also recommend you checkout the selections of bookmarks and stickers near the cashier. The bookmarks are made by local artists. The Book Store is a must visit for book lovers in the area and there are lots of cool eateries and pubs nearby too.
