Who could blame me for thinking that... considering that describes perfectly the clinics I visited with my pets in both PA and VA. And who could blame my cats for trying to grab the door-frame on our way out of the house? I wouldn't want to go to the vet, either. It turns out, there's more to the world of veterinary care than clearly-rushed doctors and seldomly-cleaned exam rooms. Enter Milestone Veterinary Associates. Upon walking in, it's clear that (a) the place is clean; (b) pets and pet owners alike will be warmly greeted; (c) your pet's care matters. This service continues during exams and treatment, as both the vets and the technicians bring a gentle touch and a commendable 'bedside manner' to the exam room. We've had opportunity to interact with several of the vets at Milestone in the past few years (What can I say... one of our cats either loves to go to the vet, or loves to cause us stress by getting sick. Either way.) During one all-day scan, Dr. Galluci and her assistants called several times with informative, compassionate updates about our cat's care. During exams, Dr. Roberts is almost like a cat-whisperer. I'm consistently impressed with how she and Travis, the vet tech, are able to make my skittish, angry, stubborn cat feel at home (the cat wouldn't want me to share this widely, but sometimes... he even purrs while on the exam table!). An added bonus: expect a phone call from the office staff the day after any procedure - even something as small as an annual rabies shot - to make sure your pets are doing well and not experiencing any negative reactions. That is such a nice touch.

Until the day came that she wasn't doing good and I called them on a Friday morning in a panic. They had me come right up and leave her with them for evaluation, and within the hour had called me back with a diagnosis. Not the one ANY pet owner wants to hear, ever, but their empathy and kindness was truly genuine. They were quick to tend to my sweet girl, and didn't drag out the painful process. They also offered a cremation service that I am so glad I accepted because it was beautifully done and now my memory of my Samantha will be with me FUREVER!

My little mochi has been having Intestinal distress for almost 24 hours w/ diarrhea and vomiting, lethargic and some shivering. Adam was so helpful and I could tell he was passionate about helping others with their animals. He was very genuine and helpful and really gave me the time of day when he wasn't even gaining anything since I wasn't paying for him to talk to me or bringing Mochi in as a patient. I could not be more impressed. He was confident in the knowledge he was giving me which brought me a lot of comfort. Gave me some names of other hospitals incase the situation gets worse. (We have gotten snow yesterday so lots of places aren't open today!) I found an abandoned kitten on a Sunday, and knew he needed to be seen by a vet. After I finally stopped to read Yelp reviews before I made anymore calls (duh!), this clinic had the most recent and positive reviews. When I called, I was told I could bring the kitty in that morning. We were met by Dr. Paulk, a recent graduate and new Dr. in the practice. He diagnosed kitty with a respiratory infection and conjunctivitis, and we received two prescriptions (which made kitty so much better). Then, a couple of days later I was pleasantly surprised to receive a hand written thank you note from Dr. Paulk. Honestly, I was already sold on this clinic just because of their kindness and efficiency, so the thank you note was the cherry on top!
