One would think all chain grocery stores are the same, when I started to collect Points using the Optimum App ( President's Choice / Loblaw / Shoppers Drug Mart / NoFrills etc. ) I have been going to different locations, good thing is each stores offers slightly different product and especially ethnic products. E.g. I find more European items at the Tsawwassen store and more Halal products at the North Vancouver store! Since they offer many self service check-out counters I have not used customer service and interact with the staff necessary, I don't know if that is a good thing or not but, we do get what we wanted most of the time! As for Ambiance, most stores offer bright and clean environments which makes shopping a little more enjoyable! read more

I live close to the Seymour Blvd Superstore and shop there often, but for the longest time I avoided their pharmacy because the service used to be very poor. Recently, I needed to buy some medication urgently and decided to give the pharmacy another try. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They told me my medication would be ready in 30-40 minutes and that I'd get a text when it was done, and they delivered exactly as promised. I also asked about transferring my prescriptions from another pharmacy, and they assured me they could take care of everything without me having to do a thing. What a difference from the previous team. I'm truly impressed and will gladly use this pharmacy from now on. read more

For not being from Canada, and only here for a few days this place had lots of good items. I was so happy to see they had Stok cold brew coffee! My hotel nearby didn't have any cold brew and I was there for a conference. So happy to buy Stok and some other snacks to bring back to my hotel room. read more

This place sure has gone downhill. My wife and I use to order our grocery's online and pick them up but in the last 3 months it's caused more hassle then it's solved. Constantly getting the wrong items and they love to substitute their own superstore brand for items they say are out of stock. Twice I walked into the store after picking up my items and found the item i ordered. The wait is also shocking. When it's a busy time I fully get it but 9pm with no one else waiting should mean I have to wait 30min to get my items... anyways hopefully they address these issues. Until then... 1 star is all I can give it. read more

As in my other reviews of the Superstore chain of stores, I am usually not a fan, due to the 'zoo' like nature of the outfit. From the messy parking lot, to the unorderly ordeal of going into the store, but this one is different. More organized, probably from the staff that works here. The lighting, I also find, is brighter at this location. I just find what I want here, and it is all placed in the area that it should be it, no hassle finding, and fighting through the ordeal of mass grocery and item shopping! The parking lot is big, and as I said, no fault to the store to who comes to this place, but the people know how to park, and how to walk (not in the middle of the lane) when cars are driving around. My store of choice, only it is a little out of the way, but the better of the bunch. read more

I just wanted to write a quick review / thank you to the North Vancouver Superstore Manager and staff. I'd love to give you the whole long story, but I think that would take up too much space. Bottom line is I was unaware of a policy regarding the optimum card and how points get earned. Because of this, I was about to loose out on approx $40 worth of points. The cashier explained the issue which I clearly heard the first time. It got explained to me quite a few times because I wasn't about to give up on my points. When the floor manager? arrived, I got to hear it all again, but then she also got to hear my story a few times. I think all 3 of us ladies told our stories to each other a dozen or so times! I pushed, and asked for the store manager, sadly, was initially told I would not talk with him ... HOWEVER, shortly after he was contacted, he was on the floor and extremely pleasant and was gracious enough to award me the points and made sure I also got my free item (since I was spending another $250 in the store). I shop in this store A LOT! Usually 3-5 times a week, big work shops. And that's why I had decided to cut my shop short in the Metrotown Superstore, to come and wrap things up and support my local Superstore. I didn't have to do that, could have as easily bought the rest of my order at Metrotown. (The only reason I was at Metrotown was because my store was out of stock of a few items I needed to purchase today.) The North Vancouver Superstore is a great store. Clean and friendly. I do have some problems here and there with things being out of stock, so I do have to make a second shop at the Grandview store. Today was my first time at the Metrotown location because of stock issues. Sadly, I did not note down the name of the manager tonight, as I'd again like to thank him for continuing the good will with awarding me my points. I will most definately continue to shop here and recommend this store to friends. Lastly, I would have given the store 5 stars if the ladies I started this whole thing with were a little friendlier. read more

My family has been shopping there for years and were quite satisfied. However, since their renovations, the unit price, which I use to decide on the most economical item for the labelling, became so small that I have to carry a magnifying glass to read it. They are also very tricky making it appear that larger/bigger packaged food items appear to be cheaper while in reality, they are more expensive than several smaller items (check the unit price!!!) The shelving space for the specials also became much smaller. For out of date items there used to be a 50% discount which now is reduced to 30%. The majority of items pushed on us are of the processed type foods rather than the basics that we can prepare ourselves. When trying to log on to the website flyer one is forced to go the online and delivery/shopping way. Still, if you enter the total correct address, it squeezes you through the full questionnaire i.e. province etc. The whole login process is getting more intricate to follow its forced process. Conclusion: We haven't been there for quite a while and will try our best to avoid that store and go shopping at more individual specialties stores e.i. like "SUNRISE" on Powell with much lower prices and more selection of produce or Sta Barbara with lower priced and high quality imported sausages, cheeses and olive oils. Too bad that this once excellent store upped their prices, deteriorated overall, taking advantage and try to force their will power on us how to and what to shop. I'm an expat that moved overseas years ago and I love coming to get 'Canadian' groceries here when in town. Ketchup chips, KD, Indian spices, Clamato, Joe fresh stuff, cheap cosmetics, Smarties and Coffee Crisp. This is a big clean Superstore. I like it better than the south van location which I usually stop at on the way to the airport. I also really like the new sushi counter - very surprising to see at a Superstore. They have tons of cool housewares too. Wish I could buy them but I can't get all that stuff home with me. read more

Superstore has quietly removed the "Seniors" hours for shopping that used to be 7-8 a.m. with no notice. I wasn't aware until May 30th, 2021, and I don't know when this was implemented. I did verify with staff who advised "oh, ya, we don't do that any more". Not only does it potentially expose me to the illness of Covid 19, it exposes their front line staff to the same risk. That's very poor judgement, given this store has had at least one employee outbreak of Covid 19 that I'm aware of. read more

I am giving this place a high rating based on two factors: 1. The incredible selection of gluten free foods. 2. The incredible prices of the above mentioned gluten free foods. Otherwise, I normally avoid Superstore. There is something to be said about the experience of grocery shopping. I cannot bear the crowds. So, I have determined the best time to hit this place is about 7-8 pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings. Yeah...I have no life but if you want to save money on groceries you will have to make some sacrifices. The North Vancouver location has, as I mentioned above, since the recent renovation starting stocking a HUGE amount of gluten free foods. It has transformed my life. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. The prices are even better. No longer do I need to spend $10 to get some granola (yes $10)...I can now get the same bag for $5. Talk about a happy girl. I want to said this store overall is tidy and good BUT except the pharmacy is really really BAD. I placed my order a weeks ago, when I go to pick up my prescription, they said not ready yet. Still need to wait 20 min.... (This is not the first time I have that experienced) and one time they said cannot found my prescription .... after few minutes, they found it in their basket they put it on the floor!!!! I wanted to prepare my shopping list for tomorrow and clicked on the flyer picture showing the dates from May 15 to May 21, 2020. The flyer pages opened and I selected my shopping list items. I was quite aware that the present flyer expired tonite on May 14th and that is why I choose the flyer picture showing the dates from May 15-21; I repeated checking off the May 15 to 21st flyer picture numerous times and always ended up wasting my time because the flyer from May 8-14 was substituted after I spent considerable time preparing tomorrow's shopping list. Any other store I make similar selections showed you the flyer the date you selected and not let you waste your time and substitute with one that expired on the same day you prepare tomorrow's shopping list! I consider this a scam to select items that are not available for a quoted price!!! This is in keeping with another unsavoury practise to make it difficult for customers to read the "unit price" on the shelving labels that are so reduced in print that you cannot read them without a magnifying glass. The unit price is the only way to compare the cost of items and find out that a large quantity item is more expensive than a smaller one, where you would expect the larger item should save you some money. read more

Every time I come in here it's like there are invisible shopping elves putting things into the cart -and it's all good stuff! I'm like a dog in a pet shop when I'm in the isle with all the GF stuff. -btw if you are gluten free but you do Soy, you have GOT to try this Zen Soy chocolate pudding, it's the best dessert since I went on this gawd-forsaken diet. They also have many other alternatives for other prisoners like myself. There are lactose free cheese choices, and they're not so prohibitively priced as other stores around. Averaging around the 5 buck mark so you don't feel like a victim of price gouging. There's nothing like having a food allergy and then having a store take advantage of your handicap to charge you wa-a-y more than an item is worth regularly. Groceries are expensive here, averaging 45 bucks a bag is not unusual. One time we got to the check out and there was an old man in front of us. He was having an issue over the price of the Tea. I felt a bit bad for him, he had just came in to get a large pack of fish and a few other small items and ended up with a 50 dollar total. It felt all too familiar to me "Lettuce, just lettuce..." -(see previous review.) So I was watching this tea price squabble and I'm squirming and wincing in anticipation of our own sure to be alarming total. That time we broke an all time grocery bill high for our tiny kitchen. 150$ holy crap! Well, we gotta eat, right? *ps I love it, this store doesn't exist on any google map yet. read more

With recent upgrades to North shore superstore the store looks to be heading in the right direction. While store refresh/Reno isn't finished yet it is already looking better. Actually prefer visiting superstore over Walmart due to improvement to store. Parking lot is huge and there is aways a rush to park closest to store even though there is tons of parking little further. Depending on when you visit you can find tons of employees on the floor or zero employees to help out. I wish they had a more consistent workforce on floor. Biggest issue I have is with corporate store rather than this particular location. On multiple occasions they advertise products on sale but the store doesn't even receive the products or such small quantity that it runs out within few hours. Not like these are door busters sales but better inventory management would be great. Customer service is pretty good and will give out rain cheques if needed. Really wish they put a small section in the produce aisle with free fruits for kids like some other stores are doing. Love the idea to give little ones healthy options as opposed to chips or candy. Looking forward to the Reno being done. read more

I came here as I was visiting my friend. We both collect PC Points, therefore, it was our monthly large $250 grocery shop for 25K points. We spent a good 3 hours in here as that is how long it takes to shop, price, check out and pack our car. We were smart and didn't go during the day or rush hour and close to closing when traffic was non existent and the place was quiet. Bonus 'cause at night on Wednesday's is when they put the pink tag 50% off stuff. I have a Superstore close to my house, however, it was about having a competition with my friend. This location has the best clothing selection. Parking lot is always a nightmare. Lots of good produce usually, and a huge organized store.

I can't help but compare every superstore/grocery store I go to. to Whole Foods/Capers. Bottom line is, Whole Foods stores are just so nice, friendly service, quality products, organized sections, cozy atmosphere...I could just shop there all day... Real Canadian Superstore- I went in once (it was an HST free day), and I walked out faster than I walked in. It was an extremely busy day, huge line-ups at the cashiers, people everywhere in a shopping frenzy. The only reason I ever even went there was to spend points my bf got on Presidents Choice MC. I guess it makes sence to shop there if you have a huge family. But unless you buy in a bulk and settle for lower quality products, you won't save much (from what I have noticed) read more

Pump here; shop there! That's the logic used at this Superstore. Not a bad one, I might say. As we do not live in this area, we do not venture this far for groceries. However, we do fill up the car at the Petro Canada in this block along the way home. Recently, we discovered that you can use the receipts from the pumps to get discounts on groceries at this Superstore! So, we finally took the time to explore this Superstore yesterday. Not everything's at a good price, in my opinion. You can definitely find lower prices for some items at other supermarkets. I can see that the same company owns No Frills, although the cleanliness here beats a No Frills any time. The lunch meats are a good buy! The deli Honey Maple Ham was $1.68/lb. I bought a head of Romaine and O-M-G were they clean! I got home and started my usual routine of soaking the life out of my raw vegetables before dinner time. To my utter surprise, the leaves on the Romaine were practically spotless! Was it just my luck that the ONE head of Romaine was so incredibly clean? Or are they just so amazing at cleaning their vegetables? Either way, I consider myself impressed! Perhaps we might visit this Superstore a little more nowadays because of the pump receipt discounts & the squeaky clean vegetables! read more

This is the closest grocery store near where I live. So when my wife asks me to pick something up at the Superstore, I do it begrudgingly. The people who work here act like they are doing you a favor by helping you. They are constantly switching around where things are in this particular location, so you almost need a GPS to get around in here. From the moment you walk in, there is someone there not to greet you, but to make sure you know they are watching you. Someone really needs to put on a course on customer service for the employees. I have never left this place with a good feeling about the service I received. That being said, in fairness the prices are very good, they carry the President's Choice brand of products, which I feel are very good. They do have a self serve checkout, which you end up needing assistance from someone who takes forever so beats the purpose of having it my opinion. I am not expecting a Whole Foods experience here, just a smile and how are you today sir every once in a blue moon, and maybe a can I help you find something when I look lost. As you can tell I am not a big fan of this Brand. One thing is for sure, it's consistent no matter which Superstore you go to, or at least I feel that way. Good luck. read more

This place is a good place to get everyday, CHEAP groceries. Prices are definitely better than most grocery stores. Anytime I walk into another store like Safeway or Save-On my jaw drops at the prices since I am used to the Superstore prices. CHEAP it is. That being said, this place can be a MAD ZOO! There are usually way too many people in the store, it can be disorganized and people are just generally in a bad mood (including the cashiers). Go on a weekday morning if you can to avoid the crowds. All in all, the shopping experience is worth it as I'd rather save tons of money on my groceries. Tip: make sure to bring your own bags (it's good to be environmentally friendly anyways) as they charge 5 cents per plastic bag. Also, you need to have a loonie on hand to get a shopping cart. If you don't have one, walk in the main doors and look for the greeter as they can give you change. read more

Disorganized and the changes have made the store even more chaotic. Most aisles are a mess, even if you go first thing in the morning. Half the aisles have giant pillars in the middle that make it difficult to use their oversized carts. Prices aren't too bad, but a lot of items are never in stock, especially in the bulk section. Lots of good stuff at best prices on the Northshore. You can get your groceries and everything else in one stop. Staff are not around to help or if you do find them, they are not very helpful. Make sure you shop only in the mornings. If you go later in the day, the shelves are empty and there is a policy not to bring out anything from the back. They just say they don't have anything in the back...but we know they stock it overnight. Again, due to limited staff on the floor. But hey, if you want cheap groceries and no service, this really is the place to shop. read more

I just moved back from Coquitlam to the North Shore and now will need to go to this Superstore instead of the one in Coquitlam. I really do miss the one in Coquitlam as I find this store very old and the isles are very narrow and you constantly bump into shopping carts. Even though there is always sufficient parking outside I definitely don't find it convenient to shop there in the rain or snow as the parking lot is outside and not covered. I now do part of my grocery shopping @ Walmart in North Van as it's closer to where I live and they also offer a point program. read more

after witnessing the mad Xmas shopping rush today I've become a loyal supporter. SO MANY shoppers working through the aisles peacefully and patiently. Even what seemed to be huge lineups at the registers moved through pretty fast. Friendly efficient cashier. I recall past xmas shopping and going through most supermarkets and mega stores looking like what we expected the Mayan Apocalypse to be like. Yet superstore today was clean, organized, staff appearing calm and content. I was pretty amazed. I like shopping here late in the evening usually when there are less shoppers. read more

superstore is one of my favorite stores but on sat 11/30/2013 . Icame to the n.v. Store b/c the east van store is always too crowded. The weekly meat special was t bone steaks. My understanding of a t bone was striploin on one side of the bone & tenderloin on the other side. Here many of the t bones were striploin & bone w a sliver of tenderloin at best. Hey thats not right. They pillaged the expensive part & tried to trick the uninformed consumer. Also there were striploinn being sold in the same cooler for $2 more/ kg. Again another slight of hands trick. I was dissappointed. &to top things off I couldnt get off gilligans island after shoppng b/c north vancouvers first murder had the police shut both bridges. My wife and I have been shopping at that store for a number of years. I found that the No Name Brands have considerably improved in quality and the Presidents Choice is second to none in quality and price, There are also a few shortcomings I noticed over this period of time. Namely: The quality of fresh vegetables like lettuce etc is generally poor and wilted. I prefer to buy these in Chinatown groceries. Quite often when we arrive the specials are sold out, so one of our reasons to drive there is eliminated. We also find that their specials tend to address their prepared/processed/manufactured foods. We shop mostly for basics as we prepare our meals from scratch with emphasis on health. (...we DO appreciate their Blue Line). I asked several times to place an ingredients books on the bulk section shelves (Example: Save On Foods) , so we can determine what's in it and what's right for us, but it was explained to us that they keep disappearing ??? As of late we have to undergo additional advertising when the cashier are made to ask us "if we would like the special of the week" usually some inane useless object we could have picked up on the shelves, if we wanted it. The sad story behind this forced advertising by the cashiers is that if they forget to ask the customer they will have to call their supervisor and give the item for free. We witnessed this a few times and it was really pitiful! What we did not know was that after three free items by the same cashier, the cashier get's some sort of punishment. (...well, not George Bush's water boarding) against their employment standing. Shame on you Big Brother! Oh have I mentioned that their washrooms lack some basic hygiene and cleanliness, also the sterilizing lotion at the entrance features a cotton towel to reinfect your hands. I am very unhappy with the service I've received at this superstore location. The policy for the deal of the day was not honored. The cashier had forgotten to mention the deal of the day and When i mentioned it, i was told that "there is no deal of the week today". Every register and every flyer had a sign that explained what the deal of the week was. I talked to the manager who was very rude and condescending at the customer service desk and was told that that specific till was out of the product and they could not transfer it from another till. The sign for the till i paid at was not removed. The manager basically said that since the sign is now turned backwards there is no need to honour it. The manager had the nerve to offer me to buy the deal of the week. The free product was not important and it was the princible that the deal was not honored that really annoyed me. This was the worst experience I've had at any grocery store. read more
