Lack of customer service. I was in town visiting family after loosing a family member and when we got hungry someone recommended me this place. After sitting down the and ordering our food and drinks my order was wrong and they corrected the mistake right away, as of that time all the complaint I had was the unpleasant face of the waiter. 5 family members came right after we got our food and after a few mins they starting ordering their food. The waiter was having a hard time getting the order and even my cousins got frustrated and he went and go ahead order by the numbers on the menu. We waited a while and one of my nieces got her food so we assumed the rest of the food was coming after but we were wrong, we saw the waiter take food to another table. We asked about our food and she said cooks mix the ticket. About 5 mins later the waiter cabe by and then again we ask for our food and she said they were making for the other table. Finally we got another plate, incorrect order but we didn't want to say anything since we waited so long. The next order came, wrong too, it was supposed to be 2 plane sopes yet we got 2 sopes with everything, we ask to change it and repeat the order, right after another waiter brought 1 sope with beans, we said only meat, my cousin got up and explain the order at the counter and the first waiter helping us said that she can't with that table and that she was crusted and ran to the restroom, the food was for my 7year nephew which was getting upset. After that the manager, according with her, came over and tried to justified the waiter and said that she was an 18year old student, we mentioned that our nieces were too and she turn to them and told told them "but are you perfect?", she then said that the kitchen was the one that make the mistake and that she wasn't going to charge us for the last food order. She brought the check and since I wanted to leave already I was about to give my card when my niece ask me to check the check and glad I did because I was getting overcharge not only that I could tell the waiter didn't know how to take an order since she barely had anything written down but she was charging us, when we call the manager she gave us the sting eye, she later said she didn't but 3 people saw that. All I can ask is train the employees to be accountable for their mistake and teach them well. All we wanted was to get some food and enjoy the day after our loss but we ended up mad and frustrated. read more

Francisco was an attentive server. I asked him, "What would you take home to eat?" He thought for a moment then said, "Enchiladas de camarón". They were dressed in a tasty mole-like sauce. Absolutely tasty and accompanied by traditional beans and rice. The coffee was hot. The corn tortilla was warm. I was choking on the Salza it was so hot so I got up and asked for a glass of water. I got a giant glass of cool filtered water with ice cubes. Founded in 1980 Real Colima 1 has been a culinary oasis to the neighboring community satisfying the palettes of locals and visitors alike. We loved that everything was very fresh, and the people were super nice and tolerant of my muy poquito espanol skills. When I asked if they had pico de gallo, the senorita shook her head but then went to the chef (owner?) and together they MADE ME fresh pico de gallo even with avocado! I couldn't believe it. I've only been here once but it was awesome! My regular spot in watsonville was closed so a buddy took me here, yes! It's a small place with just a few tables but the food is excellent. I had the carne asada enchilada's and they were great! The carne asada was cooked in a tasty sauce, wrapped in corn tortillas, smothered with a home made mole sauce, topped with cheese, broiled to molten perfection! I had just rice (no beans) and they put a little salad in the plate for fun. The rice was exceptional and had some peas mixed in, unusual but delicious! Chips and salsa came with our meal and they were great too. The salsa was just the right heat, made me sweat! I'm not in watsonville often but this place is on my kick ass Mexican eats list from now on! Give'em a try! read more

I was traveling by and I decided to stop by this city to check it out and also from my experience small cities have the best food. When I parked, I started looking for a place to eat and then I found this Mexican food restaurant. At first I had trouble physically finding it, but then I asked someone and they pointed me to a door. I would never guess that this restaurant was there. When I walked it I felt this cozy atmosphere there. Then i sat my self at the table. Then in about thirty second a weighters came up to me. She had a patience to explain to me what's good they have on the menu. So I ordered 4 small tacos and a torta with drink. Those tacos were delicious one of the good ones. Then later on they brought me a torta. The bread was crispy, there was a lot of beef inside and it also came with a side of the French fries. I haven't regretted that I went to dine here everything was amazing. Employees were nice. Got a good service and good food I would highly reccomend visit this place if you gonna be there in town read more

I have been attending this place since I was 5(1999)and my father before me since the early 90s this place is great!!! The food has stayed consistent all these years!!!! I get everything here the Siete Mares, to the torta de milanesa, their enchiladas etc. If you like mexican food you have to try this place atleast once. MMmm. I took a walk on the wild side last week and dared cross the all mighty Pajaro Bridge. Man, the town of Pajaro is like the wild west compared to Watsonville. Junkyards, auto shops, liquor stores. Just the kind of place I'd like to be for the apocalypse. Real Colima was not our first choice destination. First we walked all the way down to legendary Taqueria El Dandy II, which has sadly closed down. On the way back to Watsonville we stopped in at Real Colima. I'm so glad we did! We glanced at the menu, and that was all the convincing we needed. The food was absolutely delicious, although very greasy, and it was definitely pricey for Mexican food. I'd say all in all, it was worth it though. They also served Mexican Coke, delicious salsa, and the best damn fresh hot tortillas I've ever had. Our service kind of sucked, and the waitress pretty much abandoned us but beyond that, everything was tremendous. I'd come here again, but maybe only on payday. read more

Both of the Colima Reals are GREAT!! They are Mexican home cooking at it's best. But be warned, it isn't for those on a diet. The 15-inch homemade flour tortillas are a meal on their own. There's a variety of dishes ranging from soups, tacos, burritos, seafood dishes, & even burgers. I always go with at least 5 other people & we always leave happy, satisfied, & ridiculously full. I am a Mexican food FANATIC and prior to visiting Real Colima, I thought I knew my favorite Mexican restaurant. I was wrong. I live about 2 hours from this restaurant, but as often as I visit the area, I can imagine I'll be here a lot when I'm craving Mexican (which is pretty much daily). When I walked in, the girl immediately spoke to me in Spanish (I'm white/asian), and although I had no idea what she was saying I knew that was probably a good sign that the food here is bomb as hell. I was right. As soon as she brought out the chips and salsa, I was in love. I would come back for that spicy goodness any day of the week. This was hands down the spiciest, most flavorful salsa I have ever had. I prefer chunkier salsa, usually, but this salsa was so damn good that I really didn't care. I ordered the chicken enchilada plate with beans and rice, and let me just tell you I am an atheist but I think there might actually be a God after eating those enchiladas. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the sauce was A1, and it was smothered with gooey cheese that required many napkins. The beans and rice, although a staple, were some of the best I've ever had. Super yummy. The kind of beans and rice you want to eat aimlessly for hours because the flavor is so bomb. My friend ordered the Chile verde plate and the horchata, and loved it as well. I also tried the horchata and it was PERFECT. This place is all around great and if you're in the area and looking for a great spot to eat, give this one a try. The food at Real Colima is below average. On my visit to this establishment, I ordered a chicken sope and a cheese enchilada. The chicken in my sope tasted as if it came from can, and the lettuce that topped it was saturated with water making my sope one very soggy mess! The cheese enchilada was slightly better, but the run off water from the lettuce made it quite unappetizing.
