Las Islitas in Watsonville was a disappointment, attached the bill, they charge me without telling me it cost extra, each 1 plain tostada cost me 1.00, we ordered a caldo de pescado, it should come with tortilla o tostadas, and I ordered a side salsa for my fajitas because they were a little dry, the waitress Lucero didn't advise me if I ordered salsa on the side they would charge be 8.99, the drinks tasted like syrup, the tortillas for my fajitas were old and falling apart. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of my food but I got some green aguachiles, cóctel de camarón with pulpo y sin pulpo, as well as a plate de camarón empanizado which were super good 10/10. This restaurant is on the pricier side imo.,, but it's good !! Service was great ! I went in person cs I tried to call to place an order but the number on google was not the right one LOL? Food- Off the hook! Easily my favorite place for some fish or shrimp tacos. Very underrated on the quality of food, it's just damn good food. Service- They could be better, there for sure has been times where either me or my boyfriend has been treated with rudeness by waiters, or as though they're in a "rush". Another downside is asking for any "add on" sides may get very pricey. I once asked for avocado and I think we were charged 2 bucks and were given maybe a fourth of an avocado Ambience- if you want a peaceful, quiet place this isn't it. No privacy really. I've came in plenty of times where the tables are sticky or dirty with food, might just be lack of workers? The amount provided in the order was enough for 2 people.... I ordered it again and received overcooked pasta, with five pieces of overcooked, broccoli, and a few pieces of chicken. Yuck! The cost for this lunch item was $26.65... (See the picture).... I called the restaurant twice. They did not answer. I left a message requesting a call back. No one ever called me back. - Wow this place is a 51-50. I am so not impressed. I love the music, and the amazing staff. The food however I'm not a fan. 3 people ordered a shrimp cocktail with a little twist. None of them had any flavor. I never, EVER needed to look around for different hot sauces to give a shrimp cocktail flavor. I feel liked they just used red food color in water. It just tasted like shrimp flavored water. I'm sorry it was the worse shrimp cocktail I've ever had. It's in a shopping center. There was parking it was cool considering we went with a parking of 25 people. They made a huge table for the kids and adults. There was live music and a jukebox pretty cool. Drinks were good and good was a good size. For my family a party of 3 it was $30. I thought that was good considering what we purchased and the size . i came to eat here a few weekends ago and first of all the music was way too loud or maybe im just sensitive to that, secondly it took them awhile to notice us and bring us the menus then they took another long while to take our order, lastly i decided to get the caldo de camarón and i expected more, there was no vegetables, there was only a few shrimps and to top it off it was super super salty. My freind got the ceviche de pescado and same thing it was too salty! i would recommend la fogata on union street in Watsonville, its quiet and the service and food are excellent!! read more

this place is horrible and not following COVID-19 regulations. The server was useless and didnt clean the tables with cleaning products. We ordered empanadas, molcajete de mariscos, molcajete de mixta de carne. The empanadas were uncooked, the molcajete de mariscos was super spicy even though I asked for it not to be spicy, and the molcajete mixta only had one piece of meat and a thing slice of chicken. I have ate at two other Las Isilitas location, I don't know if Las Isilitas is a chain restaurant or if they are related in anyway, however, the menu is very similar. I was expecting that a seafood restaurant near the beach would be delicious. I say near because the Isilitas I have been to are about 2.5hrs away from the beach. Food: I had the shrimp empanadas, I was very disappointed to see only 1-2 shrimp in per empanada. We also ordered a moraja, which was plain it was not season. The best best best agua chilies in the county. The langonstinas are to die for, now it is a little pricey but its GREAT seafood and good quality so i never mind the price. Their agua chile is spicy and so fresh and good. I normally make in there once a week. Islitas is the best kept seafood secret in town. Just another mariscos place in town. They had lots of "pulpo" (octopus) offerings and I saw many tables receive all manner of cocktails. If you're a fish cocktail kind of person, this might be a good spot for you. If you're like me and searching for the best fish taco, keep on searching, you won't find it here. The fish (pescado) tacos were decent, and the green mole was pretty flavorful, including the key limes in the basket of chips, but the service was pretty much awful, and the food was overpriced for my liking. $9 for my bare bones plate of 3 tacos and some oddly discolored beans and rice. Their phone orders and customer service is really bad. Food is good, however if they are that busy, why even bother have a number for phone orders. When they eventually answer, if they ever answer, the person taking the order is super rude. Went to pick my order, these waitresses are borderline disrespectful, yeah no tip! Great food, great cooks but shitty service and I don't suggest you call to order they will hang up and make fake excuses once you show up

Went in today I usually just go for a chavela they're pretty good although today we went for lunch our server was awful!!! To greet us with a disgusted look should of been a red flag, my mom mentioned to her how the chips were stale and tasted really old all she said oh well they probably didn't cook them right, (I am a server and what should of been done was exchange chips for new fresh ones) we placed our order and all our food came out except my sons chicken nugget meal were patiently waiting for his plate and we don't get it I try to make eye contact with her and all she's doing is talking to the other waitresses. At this point I am beyond frustrated because we are pretty much done with our food and 30 minutes later I still don't have his food delivered I get up and ask her about his food all she says I don't know ... throughout the whole meal she didn't care to stop by and check up on us to see if everything was ok or if anyone else needed another drink..horrible service as we were paying she over heard me telling my mom how bad her service was and decided to be rude and tell me what did you say?? Oh ok now you want to speak to us directly I told her I was a server she asked where so I told her where I worked I clearly stated why her service was terrible she then had the nerve to lie to my face as to why she never stopped to check on us saying she was on lunch yeah right when I saw her standing around talking giving her the benefit of the doubt I told her if you were on lunch you could of asked a coworker to take care of your tables common courtesy. I told her before leaving this is where I work so when you want to get great service ask for me I'll show you how it's done and walked out!! Of course it seems like there's no manager on duty but when you go out and eat you are spending your money and that establishment you want to get served and treated good this lacked all of the above there's many more choices like this place in Watsonville so this will be my last time going there read more

I had lunch here yesterday. This is your typical Watsonville Mexican Food Place with loud music, sticky floors, and a lot of beer being served. Oh they also had the table side Banda/mariachi soliciting donations. Here cleanliness is all relative. The waitress and waiter had those food service gloves (he just had 1 on) but they never changed them. Same pair on when she handled money, served my dish, bused tables, or plated limes. Same pair. Looked good but NOT sanitary. Again all relative. The only reason I am considering going back and 3 stars was my fish. Tilapia fried to perfection and plated with beans, rice and a salad. The salad was of the prepackaged variety and no dressing, so it was just for show. But at least it looked fresh. The beans were very creamy. Good. The stars are for the fish and rice. The rice was institutional cafeteria style with peas, corn and onion, all cooked in chicken broth. I loved it. It was extremely well done, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish was also perfectly seasoned and cooked. Moist and tender on the inside, crisp, and salty on the outside. The fish was very fresh and they knew enough to leave it like that so I could enjoy. I will be back to try their pulpo. If it is as good as the tilapia this will be a true hole-in-the-wall. read more
