Due to the recent Covid pandemic it's good to shop outside in open air and a market worker ensures you use hand sanitizer on entrance. I especially recommend you try fresh Armagh apple juice from Autumn Harvest, vegetables from Cherryvalley Farm and cakes from Crumbs Vegan Bakery stalls. Fresh produce from local farmers, bakers, cooks and makers - definitely worth supporting.

Cut out the middleman buy fresh from small producers and support local industry! What could be better? Even the rain and wind couldn't dampen spirits this morning and my haul from the market included fresh meat from McCarthy Meats (£20 for 6 sirloin, burgers, chicken fillets and speciality sausages) vegetables from Cherry Valley farm with the muck still on. Fabulous cheese from Mike's Fancy Cheeses, fresh juices from Mango Street and mouth watering tray bakes by Little Treats. I also had a delicious coffee from the Coffee Angels. There's loads more and lots to sample as you peruse the stalls including jams, chutneys and oils and a range of hot food to purchase from soups to hotdogs or fresh made pizza. Everyone is lovely and more than happy to chat about what they do. You can keep Tesco Sainsbury and Asda this is how to buy your basics and still have cash to spare. There's plenty of free parking nearby and trust me it's better for you to be outside in the fresh air rather than dragging yourself around a crowded supermarket. If you haven't been go! There's…read morea plenitude of various traditional sweets, plus little jars of rock, bags of yellowman, lollies and candy floss...eh, hello Lynne? Sweeties galore?! I finally came to my senses yesterday afternoon, and took it upon myself to have a wee nosey at the myriad of wonderful sweets. Despite being 60p a bag / two for a £1, the sun had obviously gone to my head, and I took four bags. They were really quite small, but the novelty factor had definitely taken over. Plus the fact that I knew my dad would appreciate the bag of rhubarb rock, as well as the jelly beans. Furthermore, I was in dire need of a sugar rush, so the chewy cherries were a welcome treat. Oh who am I kidding? I could've bought a bag of Haribo cherries for a pound in Easons. But, there's something captivating about buying sweets from an attractive red and white food stall...it reminds me of summers gone by. Plus, it's the only one of its kind left in Belfast. If you're not up for the sweetie purchasing, you can pick up tickets for Belfast City Tours, Belfast Splash Tours or day tours around Northern Ireland. That makes things slightly better, doesn't it?

The shop itself reminds me of a French deli with all the gorgeous cheeses on display and the shelves which are home to dips, spreads and chutneys! Seriously this is my kind of place! I once had a white chocolate cheesecake in here many moons ago and the image and taste are well engraved in my memory - it looked like something out of a magazine and the taste was thick, creamy yet melting and amazing. I sound like a freak but I will never forget it - haven't tasted one like it since. I can't rave about this place and the food enough - just go, you'll love it!

From the very start they were nothing but helpful. The range of choices for starters, mains and deserts was second to none, but that wasn't even the best bit (I'll come back to that). Throughout jane was able to tailor the service very well to what we would like while keeping it within our budget. The ideas and suggestions were great and for the day we ended up with a better menu than we were likely to have come up with on our own. The best bit........ On the day itself everything came together just as they said it would, the service was excellent and the staff could not have been nicer. There were no problems from start to finish but I get the impression that if there had been they'd have taken it in their stride too. The food itself was the star of the service. Everything and I mean everything was amazing. The great thing was we picked a few choices that we weren't sure some of the older family members would like, but they gave them a go and low and behold (even my dad) liked everything. (To understand what a compliment that is think Peter Kay and the cheese cake sketch).
