If you're a fan of burgers and American Diners than you're going to love Belfast's newest burger bar, Eddie Rockets. One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon! read more

Fun times and good food. Eddies is a great addition to Belfast. When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. This is at heart a burger joint and they do it well. I had a smokestake burger and it was delicious. Applewood cheese, onion rings and secret sauce allll gooooood!!! I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again. read more

Loved it!!! So much to choose from on the menu and quality of food is amazing. Prices for everything is decent for the portion sizes as well. Although the savoury food is good, i personally loved the milkshakes for dessert! Flavours were amazing and once again portion sizes was excellent. Will definitely be back again! read more

Good variety in menu, and they do a nice burger. Juicy patty, crisp bun & fully dressed. Waiting time wasn't bad, although they weren't too busy when I was in. Staff were also lovely & attentive. All in all you definitely get a good feed for your money, would recommend to anyone. read more

It has all the looks and charm of a retro American dinner. The staff look like them stepped out of the 1950's But I felt it was a tad style over substance. The burger was enjoyable, but I didn't find it anything out of the ordinary. Also the burgers are served in tiny plates, which I felt was a tad off. The fries came in tiny baskets. It felt a bit souless and a tad conveyor belt. But the overall look of the place is great. I'll give it another try just to see if I feel any different about the place. read more

The décor is out of this word. everything is re-created to perfection, I felt like I was on the set of Happy days! The food was a lot better than expected, infact the burger was pretty darn exceptional. we had some lovely servers and they were extra good with our kids. Always wanted to try this very original authentic looking American Diner. So popped in and saw the very good and extensive menu. I chose a Pork hot dog with cheese and bacon. When it arrived I thought it was a bit pricey for what I got. I asked for some chilli sauce which duly arrived and worked very well with what I had. When I finished Zo got the bill and was dismayed to have been charged nearly £1 for such a small portion!!! read more

Heard many good reviews about this place so decided to give it a go, really glad I did as it is just cheesy, meaty goodness! Me, the fiancé and daughter went along and had a really good time. The whole décor of the diner is superb, something you would not see in a lot of places in the city. The food was pretty awesome! I had a burger which was really fresh and you could taste this! We ordered a lot of different sides to share and they were pretty tasty, chicken tenders which were swimming in a pool of cheese......mmmmmmmmmm. Cheese and garlic fries, sweet potato fries and last but not least the milkshakes! The milkshakes were really delicious, I opted for a Nutella one and it tasted amazing! The biggest critic of all (my daughter) ate everything which is a rare sight so they done something right by her. I would definitely be back and recommend a visit to anyone as it really is a nice restaurant with a good setup! read more

So went here last night and wasn't impressed at all it wasn't what I was expecting from an American diner at all the staff wernt very nice and the food wasn't very nice at all either and it wasn't even busy they wanted to sit us right at the door as u come in and we asked if we could sit somewhere other than there and it was like we were asking for a million pounds when ther was like 4 other People only there so definitely won't be back good to try but totally not like some of American places I've been to and took so long waiting on food and drinks when they wernt even busy I wouldn't like to go here when it's busy because u would be waiting a lot longer nice and clean place and cool decor but that's it. read more

Poor. I used to go to Eddie Rockets in Dublin all the time & loved it. I was so happy when I saw 1 in Belfast. Had told my friend how good they were.... Sadly our visit on 12th December was horrible. The waitress was uninterested and with 3 tables to wait on - not busy. She asked us if everything was alright when she delivered the food to us, we told her that the drinks were not - she came back to the table and told us they were fine - the machine had been checked. Told her that the drinks were flat and didn't taste like Diet Coke or Coke Zero. No offer to switch the drinks - actually said "maybe you're used to drinking cans" (- really?) Didn't think maybe the cups hadn't been clean or something else might have affected the drinks - she just left them on the table. She then proceeded to ignore us. We sat there just waiting on her to come back. Asked for the bill, she told us we had the bill & pointed at a BLANK PIECE OF TILL ROLL (kid you not). The burger was good (but not as good as Dublin) but the chips were overly salted & this visit was just not worth it. Felt we wasted our money travelling there for a bad experience. Also spent the required £10 & ordered 2 (bad) sodas and didn't get the Christmas gift. Nice touch. read more

Went for the 1st time last month with my little girl during the week. We loved it so much we went back that weekend with daddy for our dinner. Atmosphere with decor, music and staff is awesome. The chicken sliders were delicious and we're looking forward to returning. Love the theme! read more

I used to work down in Dublin and loved Eddie Rockets. It was the main place if eat, after I moved back to Belfast I would travel down from time to time just for Eddie Rockets. When I heard that one was coming to lisburn road, I was very excited but weary in case it didn't live up to the standards but it has in every single way. I am addicted to the chicken wings and if anyone loves American style food you have to go here. The burgers are incredible too. Both unexpected and unusually surreal, Eddie the Rocket-man delivered an American diner atmosphere that left me a bit off-step as to what my role should be in this Irish production of born in the USA... This frozen in time gaze, seen through the sharp focus of the twenty first century is certainly a popular choice, if the line of eagerly awaiting clientele scanning tables in the hope that their hunger games will end soon is anything to go by. The menu even though explained (with a sense of urgency) appears cluttered and in need of clarification. The fast food arrives fast! The chicken fillet burger with smoked cheese was very tasty however the fries were slightly underdone and had a hint of fish? Diet Coke in a plastic receptacle (I went totally stateside!!). This comes with a price tag of £9.50. I have no doubt that this will appeal to couples who are on their first date and don't want to commit to a restaurant setting, informal work settings for work colleagues or families in need of a break from the norm. read more

Nice looking clean restaurant at Lisburn Omniplex. A bit pricey. Music quite loud so we couldn't have a conversation at the table. Well filled burgers served on small side plate so when we cut into the burger the filling overflowed on to the table. Would be better served on a larger plate read more
