I saw Susan Weiner's excellent reviews and reached out to her. Susan told me that she's permanently closed her Merrick office and only offers telehealth now, also doesn't take insurance. Not ideal but I want to avoid drugs and Susan sounded promising so I decided to give it a shot anyway. First Ms. Wiener had me fill out an extensive health questionnaire with lots of personal information and email her my latest blood test results. It was a lot of clerical work but I was impressed that she'd (presumably) take the time to read my material before our session so followed up on that promptly. Sadly that was not the case (read on): We met on a secure telehealth platform that she uses. I've used other business platforms (Zoom, teledoc etc.) and always saw the other participant(s) during the call. So I found it strange that Susan chose not to appear on camera at all. I looked at my own face but only heard Susan's voice during the 45 minute session, disconcerting and weird since visual cues are important too. Also Susan excused herself for short periods a few times during the call; I have no idea what she was doing since I couldn't see her. Although Susan claimed she had reviewed my files before the call, she showed no evidence of having done so; instead asked me to summarize everything for her. Disappointing. Susan's nutrition advice included detailed food journaling, a restrictive low calorie diet, reducing time online and exercise - canned information easily accessible online with no particular value added. Susan spoke quickly in a monologue and told me to take notes; she didn't send me any handouts before or after the call. Amazingly bad! Susan charged me a whopping $150 for the aforementioned session (only accepts checks made out to her personally). Since I got very little if any help from this call I chose not to continue with Susan for any further follow-up sessions.

On top of it all, she's kind, caring, and nurturing- because let's face it, this is not easy stuff. At all. She helped me make the right choices, and understand the why behind those choices. I recommend her 10000%.

I assure you, I am a real person, and everything about my review is 100% first-hand experience with Michelle Blum of Nutrish Mish, hence why Yelp's algorithm did not filter out this review, as it did to her OTHER FIVE STAR REVIEW. I am honestly shocked that Michelle Blum is still in business after the kind of rude and disrespectful treatment I received from her. If I am a competitor, please name me. I was at the end of rehabilitating a difficult injury and had a been home all year from on the pandemic. I ate my feelings and ballooned over 20lbs, no energy and felt down. Especially when inquiring about how the food and drinks that are offered with how they taste. They do have different samples in the front for you to try. They have been instrumental in helping me lose the weight I gained after being in a car accident a few years back. Dr. Giannnakopoulous is very understanding and listens to your concerns, my first appointment I was there for possibly over an hour between the work up and discussing all my options with how i wanted to start and what I wanted to do with losing the weight and what might be the best way for me to start. Everytime I go back we review and talk about things Ive changed things I still need to work on etc. Every appointment you recieve a breakdown that shows you what weight you are currently at,where you lost, and what your %'s are. They have there own app which helps you to record your daily intake, sleep and all activities, it also has tutorials & lessons that you go over on your next appointment this can be done from your phone or the computer. Most of the time you think you know all there is to however I have learned somethimg new from each. It does link with some fitness gear. Since joining I have sent an additional 2 people and they are just as happy as I am for taking this step. I want to thank the staff as whole for being a part of this journey with me.
