A LOT of LMTs fit the bill. Vickery Holistic Massage won out simply because it was really close to my house. I enjoyed the first - and only - massage I got from Brandey. Unfortunately, the night before my next appointment she texted to let me know she was sick. Hey, I get it - we all get sick. No problem. She offered three available times to see her on the following weekend (5 days later). I chose the Saturday at 8AM appointment. She texted back to confirm. On Saturday I arrived at the office at 8:04am to find nobody there (yep, I was 4 minutes late but didn't think it would be an issue). I knocked a few times even though it was dark inside. I wondered if she figured I was a no-show and may be in the restroom or something, so I waited around for a few more minutes. I didn't bring my phone with me so I couldn't call or text, nor could I see if she had contacted me at the last minute with some emergency or if she was still sick. I ran back home to see if there were any messages from her. I hadn't received any messages or texts. I sent her a text at 8:18am to let her know that I had gone to my appointment and that I didn't see anybody there. I could see that she read the text at 8:38am. Unfortunately, she NEVER REPLIED! It's now two days later and I still haven't heard a word from her. This was also a huge inconvenience because I had to get a referral from my doctor for my massages. I paid out of pocket for my first massage to make sure I liked it. When I knew that I was happy with her services, I asked my doctor for a prescription. I have a prescription for massage therapy with Vickery Holistic Massage, but certainly won't be using it now. I'll be looking for somebody more reliable. It's too bad. I enjoyed my first massage but her lack of professionalism and respect left a very bad taste in my mouth. I'm really surprised because there are a TON of massage therapists with great reviews in the area that accept my insurance. I would think that with that much competition that she'd be a little more conscientious about keeping any clients she can get.

All of her encouragement, guidance, empowering and calming words, and comforting actions helped me all throughout early and active labor, and especially the transition phase when I was birthing my baby. She was monumental in this whole process and we wouldn't have had the comforting, safe, secure, and peaceful delivery we had if it wasn't for her. My husband and I are immensely glad we chose her as our doula. It's a decision we will always treasure. Thank God you were our doula, Mary-Jo! Mark (husband): Husbands, get Mary-Jo as your doula for your wife, period. If you want to support your wife 100% emotionally, physically, spiritually, get a doula and make sure to get Mary-Jo. Yes, be there for your wife and serve her with all that you can throughout the pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum. But honestly though, us dudes can only support our wives so much. In my experience, there's a certain point where you've done all that you can, but your wife just needs another woman's support that you just can't provide as a man. That's where Mary-Jo steps in; she'll provide that holistic support for your wife that only a doula can bring. My wife and I had a traumatic experience in our first pregnancy when we tried to do it all on our own without a doula. Now with our second child, we had Mary-Jo and she made a world of a difference bringing such peaceful guidance and security for my wife and I. Julie was very professional but did not use 40 minutes to do a complete facial and I left without feeling like she did a thorough job requiring me to come back to finish and pay another $350 dollars. I told her I couldn't afford that and that I was quoted what I paid that day including follow ups. I made an appointment for a follow up but called back the next day for clarification. I cancelled my appointment not able to talk to Julie and I made it clear that they needed to quote a price accurately and make it very clear to new clients what the price would actually be. I was having back pain problems and hip pain. I went to another chiropractor that was recommended…read moreby a family member. The doctor didn't even do the initial consult but left it to an office staff and the only adjustment type he used was the "manipulation" method, which stopped working for me many years ago. On the second visit the staff assistant told me that my insurance would only pay for 18 more visits and that my co-pay was $25. Which was strange as I'd called my provider and they gave me no limit to number of visits and said my co-pay was $20. ???? Then she showed me the "plan". It wasn't a contract but if I'd signed on the dotted line it would be 52 visits. I declined and said I'd pay-per-visit. After three visits I could tell this was not working. I next found Dr. Singleton (from a friend). One of the additional methods he used was the activator, which works for me. He did the initial consult and in the process told me that my back problem was a muscle problem and told me how to treat it separately. He also provided a list of exercises to help. It worked! After maybe a dozen visits both problems were gone. Strangely enough, co-pays were only $20 and he tapered me off with a few visits spaced out weeks apart. I'll definitely go back to him for tune-ups as needed.
