Good trail for bike rides. The path is usually kept clean without too much debris. There are a couple of inclines that can be challenging.

It's a beautiful trail with bridges and trees. Very nice for walking, running. Good distance, not too far, or too short. I love it!

We saw more birds than people as I think most folks just go to the beach. This park includes three distinct environments... beach, freshwater marshes and forest all very close to each other, with easy-to-follow unmarked trails and clean public bathrooms. We walked and explored and enjoyed for several hours, seeing osprey with young chicks, a pileated woodpecker, herons, ducks, a variety of stunning warblers, a loggerhead shrike and more! We also saw a variety of native butterflies and plants/trees/flowers, so I contributed those identifications since that's more my area of expertise. I was thrilled to see, for the first time in my life, the elusive Blue-Winged Warbler! Score! While I didn't obtain a photo, the sighting was definite and confirmed by my friend / guide / birding expert! Life is great when a small group of friends explore a beautiful and serene park, taking our time to really take it all in and as a bonus, I am able to add to my growing bird life list.

The beach is nice and wide, so plenty of space to spread out. The beach is also clean! There are lifeguards, but not this day. I think they are there typically in the summer.

Alligator look out and watching is a must in the low portion and the bridge. Do not approach them! There's also a disc golf course on the western side of the park with ample parking and easy access for ADA folks, like me! I do use this park to start my bike rides on the Pinellas Trail and that's another reason to just go out and enjoy it. It's right next to the Pinellas Trail and good to mention the "Rails to Trails Conservancy" here! So glad to be a small part! There's a huge playground for children of all ages and a place to eat a nice picnic lunch underneath a nice open shelter. It's well patrolled by the friendly park ranger team and they are always out cleaning and repairing the park. Largo PD and the PCSO drives through a few times a day and this keeps the place quiet and calm. Beautiful place to calm the soul! Just Breathe!

My SIL has lived in the area for years, and knowing how much I love exploring nature near and far, she recommended a visit to this gem of a park only 10-15 minutes from her home. PERFECT choice!! We didn't have a ton of time, but squeezed in a FINE early morning walk around the lake, and I confess I slowed her down taking TONS of pictures (as usual...) because even though it's far from "wilderness," it's a great spot to see lots of nature and wildlife (no alligators this visit!!) and get away from the hustle and bustle normally part of my visit down to the Clearwater area. So many beautiful birds!! There's a well-marked trail around the lake, passing by picnic areas, playgrounds, disc golf courses, and more. Wish I had more time to explore, but at least I know where to go to "decompress" next time I'm down in this area. Definitely worth a visit... Enjoy!!

We had 3 little ones, 3, 5 & 7 and KC was super patient with the kids and knew where to find the best "treasures"....manatees, alligators and special hidden creeks and springs! KC took care of everything! Plenty of healthy snacks & cold drinks for all in our group of 7 and thoughtful surprise gifts for the kids (squirt guns, floaties, cute sunhats for the girls and an Indian arrowhead for our boy!) Not a detail overlooked. KC took the time to get to know the kids and our family so that everyone would be comfortable. He taught our 6 year old to kayak and paddleboard in just 1 afternoon. The kids are still talking about the day! So glad we went with a guide today, but more importantly KC! Now I know why Coconut Kayak Tours is #1!

KC picked us up from the hotel (who cares about the minivan like a previous reviewer). We did a nearby location so drive was less than 15mins, we spent about 6hrs on our trip - to areas we never would of know about. Unforgettable experience and KC was such an informative guide (my GF loved his facts about the celeb houses ). Next time we visit we will be doing it again. I can't recommend it enough and it was the highlight of trip.
