My sister and brother in law discovered this place last summer. Quite a find. Located in a historic building that I believe used to be a grocery store back in the early 20th century, today they sell a variety of local foodstuffs including vegan products, local crafts/arts, coffee and tea, vinyl records, and a variety of sustainable products. They have outdoor seating in the warmer months often with musicians playing. We just stopped in to get coffee and tea. The staff was friendly and knew my sister and brother in law by name. I ended up with a Thai latte which was warming on a chilly day. There was a good number of people sitting and enjoying the music whilst drinking their beverages. It's tucked away down and off the main road so you have to keep an eye out for it. Check this place out when you can!

I got the " fall in love " a delightful cozy matcha latte perfect for the cooler weather and fall vibes !

I was trying to find a good and cool cafe place , close to my job and I was ready to admit defeat till I found Rebus Works. The vibes are very good, mellow yet punk. The workers are very kind , easy to talk to and the music taste is impeccable! Definitely a good spot to grab a delicious drink or a bite to get your day started ! They also sell refrigerated drinks , some grocery type items and local art work ! Will be back !

Sooooo.... I never understood this place.....It was always a rustic building tucked away in a tangle of metal barriers, concrete walls. edging the Boyland District from the railroad tracks. I hope to be forgiven for thinking it was only active during The Boyland Neighborhood Art walk. I neglectfully limited my joy to the bottom half of the building and had no idea that there was a top half open and filled with things to eat. And drink. Local beers, seasonings from something cool called Spicewalla. And while I was pouring over all of these things and loudly proclaiming how awesome it was that they had Mapleview milk...fresh...real REAL milk. I heard the familiar "swooouash" of an ESPRESSO machine! Whoo. I'm coming back.

What an incredible little find!!! How does this place have like no reviews? Hidden gem alert! While wandering around the Boylan Heights Historic District, we came upon Rebus Works and decided to check it out. Alice greeted us and even offered our big dog a pup cup! (It's dog friendly as long as your pup is leashed). This is part grocer/market, part goods shop, and part coffee shop. There's snacks, local beer, even some jewelry for sale. Meat, vegetables, etc. a little bit of everything! There's a counter to order coffees or tea drinks and plenty of seats inside and a few picnic tables outside. We got some Loco pops and continued wandering the neighborhood but if I lived in this area, I would absolutely come here all the time!

If your preference is modern art and something far away from the early precursors of impressionism, this may not be a shop you'll like. On the other hand, if you're ready to explore the triangle art scene and appreciate all art, this easily could be the start or the end of your tour. Clark fills in the gap left by other art galleries in the area. Most of the works are 18th to 19th century with a smattering of early 20th century by lesser known (to the average person, like me) artists, including some by locals. I spent time chatting with the owner on certain pictures or prints that captured my eye while he explained drawing or painting techniques, gave a brief bio of the artist, and in general, gave me an opportunity to see it in a whole new light. There's a depth of detail in old art, that while clearly dating the picture, leaves you thinking you've seen it before. The best part of this for me, was knowing I can buy these paintings for a reasonable price. Despite the Yelp name implying something different, Clark Art is more than picture frames. It's worth a stop, if only for a short time, when you're on your way to or from any of the venues on Glenwood.

He let me send him photos to look at, then told me what he knew about the pieces, and gave me some good recommendations for matting and framing - all knowing that I was long-distance and it could be a long time before I made it over to the shop. Very conscientious and knowledgeable, excellent customer service.
