Ok, it was not an F1 race - but the Circuit offers a fantastic all-access behind-the-scene tour. You get to see every key area that is closed off to the public: the press room (yes, you can have a pic taken in the winners' chairs!); the production room with its multitude of TVs capturing every turn and twist of the track; the massive correspondents' area, where reporters from multiple countries gather to keep the fans updated or provide live commentary (a shout-out to the Speed TV fabulous crew). You get to see the lounge for privileged guests, and then step out onto the podium, where the winners receive their trophies (again a photo op with some souvenir cups, set up for visitors). Last, but not least, you go to the "paddock" - and let your imagination run wild as to what it would feel like to be there during a race. This is a fantastic tour, with very interesting film to kick off the experience, and knowledgeable guide. The cost is only 10 Euros per person. It's a steal, and an experience of a life-time (yes, racing fans will understand what I'm talking about). And, yes, I did buy the T-shirt.

Use with caution I…read morerented a bike from TerraTours and unfortunately had a very concerning experience. When I returned to my apartment building with the bike, there was a man waiting by the entrance who followed me inside and waited on the stairwell. It appeared he was watching to see where the bike was stored. The bike was kept overnight in a locked space inside the apartment building. The following day it was stolen. I have now been asked to pay the full replacement cost of the bike, £2,600. I have asked TerraTours for further information including whether there have been previous thefts and whether they hold insurance or tracking on the bikes. So far this information has not been provided. I have been told the bikes are not insured against theft and are not tracked. I understand bike theft happens in Barcelona. I lived in the city for five years and owned road bikes so I am very aware of the risks and take appropriate precautions. In this case the theft followed someone clearly watching me enter the building and then breaking into a locked area. I have reported the incident to the police. If you have rented a bike from TerraTours and experienced a similar theft, please consider sharing your experience here so patterns can be identified.

Yesterday was a super fun, challenging ride in beautiful Costa Brava. Can't recommend this ride enough, with its beautiful seaside towns and rolling coastlines. Lots of climbs and thrilling descents, and Claudio goes at whatever pace you like. The scenery is life-affirmingly stunning, and Claudio is so affable and knowledgeable about the surroundings (although he knows surprisingly little about local birds). can't wait for another ride in just a few days!

The Hills above Barcelona tour was a ride with challenging climbs and fast descents. the views were amazing and the majority of roads were newly paved. The ride includes urban path riding so be prepared for that. Claudio is a knowledgeable, delightful host who adapts to your riding style and speed. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys climbing (4700 feet) and wants to see Barcelona from a different view.

These guys were great…read more I coordinated mostly with Chihiro and Javier was our tour guide. I've been on a number of historical/walking/architecture tours in a number of cities. It's one of those things that I never thought I'd like (following someone holding an umbrella who is droning on about stuff you want to care about but you are not sure you care about)... but guides like Javier are what can change your mind. When your guide has a passion for the subject and when your guide has some personality, it makes all the difference in the world. Javier has both. But you pay a premium to get the "Javier tour" and I'm guessing that it's worth it because he had the eight of us in this group (all friends who did a private tour) quite entertained. (Maybe ALL of their tour guides are great but Javier is who you pay a bit more for.) His knowledge of the Sagrada Familia was encyclopedic but the trick for a tour guide is to not sound like an encyclopedia but, on the other hand, to keep the information and interesting facts coming. Javier kept things moving and entertaining so you didn't just feel like you were in a classroom. For what it's worth, he also knew his cell phone camera (and your cell phone camera) backwards and forwards and was giving some truly great tips on getting great shots at just the right place in the church. Javier is a great tour guide and you will not be disappointed should you spend a few hours with him. (And Sagrada Familia is an absolutely beautiful church unlike anything you've ever seen before.)
