It's a decent place. It is very clean and open. The people working there are iffy, sometimes they have an attitude that makes it feel like you're an inconvenience and sometimes they treat you like you would a stranger, with more kindness. Make sure you know who would be tattooing you as they all specialize in different things. I went in for some fine line tattoos and Dan was my artist, he did very well with the fine lines and really took his time and they turned out great. Rusty, on the other hand, did a basic font paragraph for my husband and did not do very well at all. Majority of the words are wonky and misshaped, there was a misspelling, and it was overall very sloppy. His room also smelled awful, I got a major headache and had to step out of the room it was so bad. read more

Very unprofessional. From the moment I walked in the front desk receptionist was very unhelpful. She did not greet me or say hello, but rather told me I could not being in my child. I was very aware of children not being allowed and my child was moving around to let the lady in behind us. I asked if they were taking walkin and she hesitates and says yes but it's a 2 hour wait. I told her that was fine. She then proceeds to say, well you can't leave the premises. I told her that was fine. I showed her what I wanted and before I could finish speaking, she cut me off to tell me what she couldn't do. The whole experience was unpleasant. I'm pretty sure she may have been racist being how I was greeted from the time I came in vs. the white woman that came in behind me. One of her crew members then proceeds to laugh when I told her I was good. Do better. read more

I think that it is a big deal to let somebody put a permanent tattoo on your body. I especially think it's a big deal to choose someone to put a half sleeve tattoo on your body. When I first went to Reckless Heart, I was not greeted with a welcoming vibe. I felt like I was an inconvenience for coming in. Dan, who I was given to, was quiet, but nice enough. I had seen some if his other work, so I trusted that once I showed him my ideas from Pinterest that he would draw something amazing, so I paid my deposit and waited for the big day. The day before, I started getting really nervous and called in to talk to him, and I asked to see what he had drawn for me. He sent me this, which I would say looks like a word document clip art. I was actually offended that it seemed that he just threw it together with little effort. There was nothing original about it. I was still hoping that once I got there maybe he could win me over, but after my husband agreed that the "drawing " wasn't even close, I opted to let them keep the deposit and now have a consultation somewhere else. Dan was not approachable and literally at one point said, yeah, realistic roses, I get the point. I wanted to like him, but at the end if the day, his too cool attitude was too cool for me. I left this review on their Facebook page first, and they had the nerve to lie and say that I was a no call no show for my appointment when in fact I called almost 3 hours ahead to cancel. While I admit 24 hours in advance would have been better, I did not just not go and call 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment as they claimed. They also said I was lying about what was said to me and about what design I wanted. Go somewhere else. read more

I had a great experience doing a walk in. There was a long wait but that is to be expected on a weekend walk in appointment. My artist took his time creating my stencil and ensuring the positioning and fonts were exactly as I wanted. Great conversation and laid back environment! Would recommend to anyone! read more

I had originally got my first tattoo done at Maine Street Tattoos and it was nice and all but going back for my second one the price was too expensive for something so simple. I tested my luck with this place and I am one very happy customer. I've gotten my second and third tattoo done here and love how both have come out. So a few months ago I got a tattoo here and when I wrote a review saying how terrible it was and that I also got a STAPH infection from it... the Manager proceeded to tell me that I have buyers regret because of a personal phone call that I took while I was getting my tattoo done!!! I have plenty of tattoos that did not turn out this way and Infected. They did not even offer to correct it once it healed so I'm writing another review with an update of how this terrible Tattoo turned out. It's literally the easiest Tattoo you could possibly do and they manage to mess it up . there's no lines and I am forming a keloid because how hard he pushed down on my wrist. Do not go here I do not recommend it they are terrible and they don't even try to work with you. I asked my money back they wouldn't even do that the least they could've done was say that they would try to fix it once it healed but they were just completely disrespectful and rude especially the manager! Not to mention they lie! I am having this removed as soon as possible!!!! read more

I have gotten two tattoos here. My first time (and my first tattoo) was great! The artist was nice, made me feel comfortable, and had a great sense of humor. My two sisters and I was supposed to get one together but they bailed out on me after watching me get mine, lol. My tattoo came out AMAZING and it is still my favorite tattoo among my three. My next visit was 2 years later. Unlike my first visit, the shop was empty, I was the only customer there and the artists were watching Southpark loud on the computer. After I paid, both artist and the guy at the desk went outside and smoked for about 7min. Totally weirded me out and very unprofessional!!! They didn't speak much at all, and the vibe there was just very weird. I will say, my tattoo came out great again and I adore it. $85 seemed too much but at the time I loved it so much that I paid it anyway. After getting my third (which is bigger) they probably over-charged me purposely (female and by myself). That will be my last visit to that tattoo shop. Have a feeling that shop won't be there much longer anyway. read more

me and my boyfriend went to get tattoos, nothing big, we already knew what we wanted and everything. we get there at 2 and were told we would have an hour and a half wait. 3 people are in front of us getting tiny wrist tattoos. my boyfriend has gotten wrist tattoos before that have taken 10 minutes. we wait for 3 hours before we're even spoken too. Dan the artist finally approached us after going off to find food. we show him what we want and he offers to redraw and put him own spin on it. he tells us it will take 20 minutes. 40 minutes later he comes back with a shit show. the drawing he gave us looked nothing like what he could do in his portfolio book. it took him 40 minutes to make but it did not look like professional work at all. read more

Steve has been my tattoo artist for years. We first met him shortly after one of our daughters passed away and we wanted to memorialize her in some way. Steve spent hours with us designing several pieces that would show the world a small part of our story. I'm constantly asked about our art and it leads me to share with everyone. Today my fiance and I came is as a walk in and were greeted with a receptionist who was very welcoming and nice. She let us know they were a little busy at the moment, but told us they had availability in about an hour. We didn't mind the wait, considering it being Sunday and with us not having appointments. When it was time for us to get the tattoos, we got paired with Rusty, who was very recommendable. I told him before that this was my first tattoo and he made the whole expierence very comfortable for me. You could tell he is very expierenced, and was very pleasant to work with. I went by reckless heart today and got a smaller matching tattoo with my fiance on my wrist done by Rusty and couldn't be more happy. We didn't ask for any kind of detailed, complex tattoo but still have to complemnt the excellent line work and the fact that I felt no discomfort during the process. Went to Steve for a coverup. I was not quoted a price and then was charged $240 for a wrist tattoo with color. It was good work, just more than I was expecting. Then I went back to have him finish a very small part from the original tattoo that he didn't know how to cover and he wanted to charge me $60 to finish! Not cool.
