I have tried numerous tattoo shops and had different experiences with each one. Before I gave Shanghai a chance, I was a loyal Madhouse Tattoo customer - i had followed them from NC to SC. When Madhouse moved to SC, there was no professionalism, too much profanity and I was treated very inapproriately, not to mention the fact I contacted a staff infection from my last tat there - that was 2 yrs ago. Since then, I have been a loyal Shanghai customer. Jay and Jordi r both wonderful artists. They feel more like friends than anything. They r honest, dedicated to customer satisfaction, r open to communication n regards to what u want and I would definitely recommend Shanghai to anyone who wants an awesome tattoo. Jordi has done the majority of my tats and his color and shading is amazingly out of this world. The shop is clean and sanitary which is a must n the tattoo world! Jay is selective with his artists. I went to Jason initially around Valentine's day about 5 years ago and got idk my 30th or so tattoo. He was very professional and did amazing work. Im always nervous with color bc it usually doesnt hold. We talked about it and it still looks amazing. I couldnt think of anyone better to do a larger piece for my grandpa and youngest child. I talked with him about what i wanted, he was super excited. When i got there he surprised me and said he wanted to the truck 'Tennessee' orange. He listens and gets to know his clients. He knows im a huge Vols fan. I was totally cool with this. My 3rd tattoo Jason did was an onion with blue coloring in it for my oldest. My color still looks amazing! Even the white is still showing. Jason is by far the best tattoo artist I know! I've gotten 3 tattoos from him so far and planning on more in the future! Hes light handed, very respectful, very clean, and keeps a conversation going the whole time, my last tattoo was pretty big and all together it took almost 12 hours and not once was he in a rush, he made sure it was exactly what I wanted, and not once got aggravated with me on certain spots that hurt a little lol.... I went to Jason for a cover up of an awful looking heart that an ex paid for. The Celtic cross is the masterpiece he gave me. I gave him a basic design and he did an amazing job of putting his own touch to it. The Celtic cross is a memorial tattoo for my Grandma who had passed a few months before i went in to see Jason. I spent 5.5 hours with him that day and he put all of his attention into his work and it shows. I am finally proud of what is on my body.
