Recovery Physical Therapy and the awesome physical therapists are miracle workers! i injured my knee and was barely walking until i started physical therapy and although i'm not completed healed, each week is getting better and most important i'm walking! aside from being really knowledgeable, which of course is really important especially when you're dealing with medical issues, they are all really friendly and nice -- so you feel extremely comfortable, which is a great feeling. and it's also nice that they genuinely care about helping you rehab and recover to your full strength. although i hope that no one needs this review, because most likely that means you or someone you know may need physical therapy, i would encourage you to call the nearest Recovery Physical Therapy and check it out. they have several office locations across the city and really are fantastic and will help you get better! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Kim on getting my knee back into shape. This was the first time I had ever gone to physical therapy, and I couldn't have asked for a better physical therapist to work with me. Everyone, including the receptionists, were so friendly and helpful with working with my schedule to fit me in twice a week. Kim was so helpful in explaining why we were doing certain exercises, she described my progress as the weeks passed, and she made sure I had the tools to continue the work at home during and after my physical therapy was over. Not only is Kim super helpful and knowledgeable, but she was so much fun to talk to for the 30 minutes I had with her twice a week. I'm very glad I found this recovery center, not only for the work we did on my knee, but for the people I had the pleasure of meeting while I was there. read more

I'm rather confused by all these positive reviews and how anyone could have gotten satisfaction from this particular company, considering the treatment I received there. I went to RPT yesterday, was interested in getting PT there, I had my prescription and insurance card with me, I was ready to sign up and get PT there for months and months, and yet I was given nothing but grief. Kim Meyers, PT director there, told me to my face, "No. We do not accept your $25 copay. We are 'specialists' here. You have to pay us $45 a visit." I responded, "That's over twice the amount of my copay. How can you do that?" Kim didn't budge an inch. "We are specialists. The charge will be $45. That is the rule." She added that she was willing to look into the matter, but that's as far as she would go. Now I know there is an ongoing political/economic war in NYC over physical therapy companies not wanting to accept "in network" clients because they allegedly then make "no money at all," but this was ridiculous. Charging me OVER DOUBLE my copay? Because of the way THEY choose to interpret a particular term? At the time I was thinking, gee, what's next, my shoelaces aren't tied correctly? I was also thinking, gee, if you wanted me to be a loyal client, coming back to you for years and years (I have all sorts of back problems, so that's not really a stretch, pardon the pun), this is not a good start. Sorry, but this is a blatant ripoff in my book. The copay for PTs is set by my insurance company, and the amount ($25) is in writing all over their website. Yes, my insurance copay is $45 for specialists like orthopedists, otologists, rheumatologists, podiatrists, surgeons--but NOT physical therapists. The copay for physical therapists on my insurance plan is $25--end of story. Kim Meyers, why are you standing there telling me I'm wrong? I'm almost freakin' 60, I make enough money that I don't need to be scamming you, you could potentially have YEARS of business from me, and yet you want to rip me off. After a rather heated argument with Kim that was obviously going nowhere, I left RPT and called my insurance company from the street. After recounting what had happened and my frustration with a company that is trying to rip me off in breach of a contract they have with my insurance company, my insurance company agreed to call RMT to discuss the issue with them. And yes, the difference in payment was significant: it was not only OVER twice the amount of what it should have been, at the higher price would have cost me nearly $1000 EXTRA over two or three months, so obviously I wasn't too keen on going with RMT. Hours and hours later, I began getting phone calls from RMT. They first left a very contrite message, saying that (now) they would agree to take my copay at $25. Thereafter, they kept calling me again and again and again. Do they think hammering my phone with multiple calls is going to help the situation? If I could give zero stars for this company, I would. It also didn't help that I was forced to wait almost 15 minutes, the PT who greeted me knowing full well that I had a herniated disc, I was forced to sit on a really uncomfortable chair, all the while the receptionist five feet away had a radio BLASTING some sort of talk radio like 1010WINS spewing ads over and over again. I guess other people like this place, but you couldn't pay me to go there. read more

I came her with limited expectations based on hours spent with other therapists, chiropractors, doctors (etc). When people say "I've tried it all," I rarely believe them because I HAVE done it all. Here's a small example, 4 separate month-long decompression therapy sessions, 7 separate cortisone injections, rolfing, 500+ chiropractic adjustments, craniosacral therapy, a dozen physical therapists, Graston therapy, ART (and that's just the start). My lumbar spine has never felt "good." Eric changed all that. He thinks different - "Behavior Trumps Strength" - i.e. if you strengthen your weak muscles but don't change your day-to-day behavior, you can expect results. If you are desperate and looking for someone that can help you make the changes needed, go see Eric. If this helps to make his case even stronger, I'm writing this review from my honeymoon in Mexico. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Everybody is so friendly and accommodating to my needs. Eric M is an excellent therapist. I have been seeing him for about 7 for arthritis in my knee. He supported and motivated me in the beginning when I thought I was going to be restricted in my activities. He gave me tools to strengthen my body to the point my pain is almost non-existent. If you need a great physical therapist or centre for physical therapy this is the place to go. Bill Collins physical therapy has helped heal my pain from a ligament laceration of my foot. After a few treatments I was able to walk without a cane, and CAM boot . At the start of treatment I was in pain taking Oxycodone when walking , after a few treatments walking slow, no uneven gait I was merely uncomfortable [total app. 12] Thanks to Bill Collins I am now walking 90% better, no need for pain meds, and improving daily . Scheduling appointments were very easy thanks to Leticia . Bill is very professional without being boring . I very highly recommend him, and RPT Physical Therapy . Kim at Recovery PT is AMAZING! I switched to Recovery PT after 15 months of not having significant benchmark improvements from multiple knee surgeries at my prior place. After one visit, Kim accurately accessed my injuries and determined exactly what I needed to work on . She also developed an individualized workout program for me. Not only did she put together the program, she showed me how to download to app so it was easy to use at the gym! She is super smart and encouraging too and very responsive to any questions I send via email. I was very frustrated with my lack of improvement with my previous PT. Within one month, under Kim's guidance, I made significant improvements to my strength and ROM and now am on the road to a full recovery. At Recovery PT, you spend 30minutes one-on-one with the PT. This allows them to access your progress and amend your at-home exercise program as needed. There aren't any PA's they toss you off on to finish your visit. Recovery PT is NOT a factory but a place where you get individualized attention. I would highly recommend Kim and Recovery PT. I wish I would have started out with Kim sooner as she is results-orientated and want to see her patients' succeed so they can return to their normal activities and sports and graduate from PT! read more

I have suffered lower back pain caused by herniated disque and I needed physical therapy. I started with Eric Matuszewski at Recovery Physical Therapy about mid January. I am very impressed with the treatment I am getting and the improvement of my overall health. Eric is a wonderful therapist, with great knowledge and compassion. My back no longer bothers me. Eric Matuszewski may be the best PT (and I would venture to say health care specialist) that I have ever encountered. I spent about 3 months with Eric after having chronic lower back pains, and I can happily say that during that time, he was able to help me alleviate that pain completely. He not only genuinely cares about your well-being, but also actually loves his job as a rehabilitation specialist and trainer. Plus, he's a great conversationalist, explains every exercise/procedure thoroughly and always has great stories to share while you go through your session. What can I say I was here about 4 years ago and I decide to come back. My knee was in bad shape. So called and spoke to Reva made is so easy to get me setup. She was extremely informative with explaining how my insurance and recovery physical therapy works with and for you. My information was already in the system Reva just updated it and informed me about what I would be responsible for. Reva great with adjusting to my very complex schedule. Eric Matuszewski was my therapist boy did I get lucky. Despite my chronic ankle issues he was able to work around it helped me recover from my knee injury. Eric was very patient but he knew when to push and when not to push not too many people know that and Eric did a great job his direction and his attention to detail made my Recovery a complete one. He was also great at explaining explaining why this works with this and why you have to do this he was very clear in the method of treatment that he wants to take towards my recovery I never had a question because he had all the answers before I even asked the question. I thank you Reva and Eric for your consideration and constant contact with me to help me get back on being active. Recovery Physical therapy there is no better option. I observed how the other therapist work with their patients and they gave the same exact attention to detail that I was getting. This is the best PT place I've been to. The physical therapists spend the entire 30 minute visit with you -- they are attentive and make sure you're doing the exercises correctly. They genuinely care. They do not pass you off to untrained assistants like most other places (do NOT waste your time at Professional PT around the corner!) My therapist was Helen and I thought she was amazing, but I also noticed all the other therapists working with other clients, and I was consistently amazed at the level of attention, care, and professionalism at this facility. Also, the front desk is attentive and friendly. I recommend this place without any reservation. An added bonus is that you can work out at the NYSC gym before or after your appointment. read more

I've been seeing Christine Meizoso, the director of PT at this location, on and off for a year. She is truly amazing, and I've seen many PTs. I went to Christine with a nagging hip/back pain that never seemed to go away. I'm a runner, so I was getting extremely frustrated with not being able to run. I had seen so many specialists that I didn't expect her to fix me . . . but she did! She gave me a targeted treatment plan with strength-training moves that WORKED (hallelujah!). She told me exactly when I could expect to see improvement (and was right about it, too). She really cares about her patients; I would recommend her to anyone. In fact, I've referred at least 10 people to her, and everyone has raved about her. I love Christine at Recovery Physical Therapy! read more

The hardest thing to find in a doctor or medical professional is someone who is willing to listen and enter into a conversation with you about your medical issue, rather than just speak at you. Eric is smart, patient, listens and actually converses, and is creative. Rather than simply stick to one regimen for all patients, as most doctors do, he listened and responded to my exact situation. I broke both wrists and after surgery had a 3 month long recovery. As my wrists healed, the routine changed. He responded to what I wanted to achieve, and came up with creative exercises that were safe but challenging. He and everyone at PT therapy are relaxed and kind, and each visit was something I looked forward to. I whole heartily recommend Eric and Recovery PT for any PT therapy you may need. read more

I had a torn labrum in my right shoulder and met with a physical therapist named Eric for three months, twice a week. I could barely get my arm above my head before I started and by the end had pretty much full range of motion. The exercises were great and the staff was always prepared for my visit. I had terrible TMJ and worked with Eveline Erni for six months. She was incredible. I had every confidence in her--she was so knowledgeable about TMJ and did a terrific job explaining what was going on in my jaw, head and neck. She also worked with me on good posture which is part of the TMJ corrective process. She was expert in massaging the affected areas and releasing trigger points, and in teaching me how to do various exercises and self massage to relieve symptoms. She spoke to my health care providers to make sure to be on the same page as they were (and they spoke so highly of her to me). Eveline was extremely knowledgeable about the various treatments for TMJ. I learned so much from her about how to relieve TMJ symptoms and how best to avoid its recurrence. On top of her TMJ expertise, Eveline is absolutely lovely with a fantastic "bedside manner." She was a great listener and was interested in my input. She was very empathetic and also remembered where we had left off each time I returned. I can't say enough good about her -- I only hope that she will be available the next time I need physical therapy! Also, the RPT office was absolutely terrific.
