The family and I went to the GAFB MWR campgrounds to watch the fireworks. There was a lady, wearing a blue polo with AA Red Ball Taxi and Shuttle Service logo, who was attempting to direct traffic upon exiting the campgrounds - she was directing traffic exiting the campground left and told individuals they were not able to make a right turn due to traffic. However, if you made the left you would have to make a u-turn to get behind that traffic to make the right onto Knickerbocker. The lady was directing traffic without safety equipment and was utilizing the flashlight on her phone. She made a situation more chaotic than it needed to be. I told her I lived right off of Knickerbocker and needed to go right - then proceeded to call me a "fucking whore" in front of my two kids. As a business who maintains GAFB access - the GAFB MF&RC even recommends their services to military members - to provide shuttle services to our military, this behavior is unacceptable. As someone who is active duty and associated GAFB, if this company employs people who act like this - I can't imagine how they treat our military members when they use their services. *After speaking with Dolores (maybe company owner?), she stated she was going to deal with the employee regarding her behavior. Stating the employee will be "dismissed" and that type of behavior isn't tolerated by her company. Update: As of 11 July 25, this employee still drives for the shuttle service - Apparently, they didn't tolerate her behavior for just that one night. read more

Just missed my flight after calling over an hour ago, driver had no sense of urgency and waited for passengers that weren't outside for more than 5 minutes even after being told by his boss to rush to the airport.. I called at 5:15 and driver was over 30 minutes late. I arrived at the airport at 6:18, there is no excuse for missing my flight if I call over an hour prior. read more

A conventional cab service as you know it..used it once, to go from the airport to GAFB. Over the phone was given a flat rate of $20, and was told that if there's more than 1 person riding, it would be a split. At the end of the trip, however, both me and a friend of mine got charged $20..so not sure where the discrepancy is, the driver or the dispatcher..but will definitely use other options such as Lyft or Uber from now on as they're much more transparent. read more

I needed a ride to the airport. I had several bags. I called red ball and they told me that the shuttle was outside of the squadron building right now and I needed to hurry cause they had to leave soon. I went downstairs to find no red ball even after waiting for a few minutes. I gave up and went to the front gate to get a Lyft. By the time I got there I had received two calls and a text from red ball which I couldn't answer cause I was carrying over 100lbs of luggage. They asked if I still needed a ride and I said no since they weren't outside the building but thanked them. Their response was via text: "He's been out there since I called you [which was absolutely not true because I went out right after she called and they weren't there]. A courtesy call would have been nice he had other people in the van with him." I found this to be very rude so I responded briefly explaining the situation and voicing that I would be blocking the number and not using the service again. Their response: "That's fine you can block this number. First of all we would never make you walk to the gate with all of your luggage, that's ridiculous. We pick you up right in front of your building. I'm sure your commanding officer would not appreciate you not giving us a courtesy call nor answering your phone." So basically, what we have here is a shuttle service that has awful customer service, says I'm ridiculous for having to work with the situation they put me in, and also making some petty jab about my 'commanding officer' thinking he'd actually get me in trouble for not answering my phone while carrying my luggage to the gate. Especially since as a student we're not supposed to use our phones while walking on base. On the other hand they pick you up in front of your building so you don't have to walk to the gate. That's all they have going for them. Take a Lyft or Uber. It's worth the extra few dollars. read more

Not sure where all the negative reviews come from. Called about 8 hours before leaving Goodfellow for home, and they got there on time at 3 am despite having to pick up multiple others. Driver was nice, got us to the airport promptly. Highly recommend read more

I'm an Active Duty Airman at the local Air Force Base. I would expect that they would serve military better than they do. After being on duty for 9 hours daily, sometimes I just want to relax off-base and maybe catch a movie or dinner; not much, just something simple like that. Yet, Red Ball's poor service never fails. They always show up 45 minutes to an hour late every time. I have waited hours at a time for one of their taxis to show up. I have missed multiple doctor appointments and lost money I spent on prepaid tickets because of Red Ball's slow, lackluster service. I'm am very disappointed and outraged with Red Ball Taxi service. read more

I recently used Rad Ball twice. I used them first for a ride to the airport, then a few days later for a ride back from the airport. I scheduled my ride to the airport ahead of time, as I needed to leave at 4:15 am. When the time came for my scheduled ride, they didn't show. I had to call again for a ride and they said they didn't have me on the schedule that morning. Now I'm already worried about being late to the airport when they see someone standing outside the gate and decide to offer them a ride as well. This adds more minutes to the ride, and I was still stuck paying $20 (before tip) for a ride to the airport rather than the driver splitting the fare between me and the rider he picked up. When I needed picked up, I called ahead to schedule a ride again. When I got outside of the airport, they weren't there. They decided to take the pilots from my flight to their hotel first then they'd come back for me. After 30 minutes of waiting on a Red Ball driver (again), they decided to make two detours to opposite parts of town to pick up 5 more passengers. Once I finally got back after 45 minutes (of what should have been a 15 minute ride) I was again charged the full fare, even though I was forced to ride all over San Angelo after waiting 30 minutes for a ride. Do not use Red Ball. If you need a ride to the airport, Uber and Lyft are a couple dollars more, but at least you won't have to make numerous stops to pick up strangers, and you can count on your ride being there on time. Also, Uber and Lyft will only charge one rider, so if there are others with you, you can split the fare. Red Ball seems to be a business that is the only service of their kind with base access privilege, and they know that and exploit it by charging unreasonable prices for unacceptable service. I see them on base every day, so they are probably making a killing by gouging service members on base without options, or who don't know better. I highly recommend not using their services. read more

Driver was texting while driving and ran a stop sign. The driver was oblivious to the situation when I called her out. I then called the dispatch number to file a complaint. The guy (teenager maybe) who answered was unprofessional and sounded disgruntled that I wanted to file a complaint. I do not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Although understandable that they operate in a medium sized city of 100,000, the quality of service the taxi company provides is unacceptable and unprofessional. To provide an example: I called Red Ball requesting a pickup for three at a local hobby store. They said that the driver would arrive in twenty minutes for pick up - pretty normal if you ask me. But, about thirty five minutes pass before we commenced a follow up call, where we received an apology and that the driver would then be there in five to ten minutes as they had picked up and dropped off another fare. So, we wait another half hour, where then we were told to call back as they were talking to the local police. Four unanswered phone calls and twenty minutes later we receive an another apology and that the driver would momentarily pull up. We wait another ten minutes and the driver finally pulls in-135 minutes later to pick us up. But that's not all. Red Ball operates under a system where they would rather pick up other fares before dropping you off to fill up the cab, which could lead you being driven by your destination just to wait another 40 minutes. Completely unfavorable considering the time they've already made you wait. In all, call a friend and beg him or her if you have to. Red Ball is not worth the time or effort, and hopefully they see a oncoming demise to either their business tactics-or business... read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. First time I used them they showed up 30 min late. That was three months ago so I decided to try again today. Guy answers but provides no name. Says he'll pick us up tomorrow, no worries, but still won't give us a name. We asked again for his name and he refused to give it out. Told us we could complain to his boss if we wanted but wouldn't give us the bosses name or contact info either. Extremely combative and rude. I will never use this service again. read more

Before you call red ball ask yourself "Can I walk there in under 45 min?". If the answer to that question is yes, walking may be the better option. Once you get into the van don't think you're out of the water yet because getting you to your destination is not their concern. If you're destination is farther than someone else's, you will go there first. Regardless of how long you have waited. In short, if there is any other option than red ball, use it. read more
