Green tea mochi ice cream was good. The ice cream was strong flavoured, with the slight bitter taste that accompanies strong green tea. It was pretty chewy. The Korean Pancake was disappointing. The brown sugar & cinnamon liquid was too fluid, so it pooled at the bottom of the pancake, resulting in an uneven taste experience. The liquid was also too grainy, giving it an unpleasant crunch (and being slightly bitter - probably from too much cinnamon). The texture was alright - slightly crispy, and quite soft. Unfortunately they don't do waffles with ice cream anymore. Nutella waffles also have a minimum order of 4 so if you just want a bit, you need to choose red bean or custard.

Consistently a 5 star experience from me. Love this place and happy it's been open / available to order via Ubereats during COVID. They have amazing taiyaki (or bungeo-ppang in Korean). The tiny shop is located in the TD plaza at Yonge-Steeles. The place doesn't look like much, but they by far have the best taiyaki around. If you haven't heard of it, taiyaki is a sweet waffle in the shape of a fish and filled different sweet fillings. I've tried their variety of flavours available - custard, red bean and Nutella - my favourite is the custard. Each taiyaki sells for about $2 (some specials if you get 4). The waffles are crispy and delicious, and best consumed when still warm, it's so delicious! They used to have ice cream available, but unfortunately not anymore. I'm looking forward to going back to this place soon!

My SO and I ordered one of every fish waffle and brown sugar pancakes. Our favourite fish waffle was the custard, it was creamy and not too sweet! The red bean fish waffle is probably dependent on personal taste, I dont particularly like it. Its a lil grainy for me but tastes like red bean. The nutella fish waffle is suuuper rich. We ordered 4 but could only eat 1 in a sitting. Definitely couldnt eat more than one even if i tried. Lastly, the brown sugar pancakes were rich and sweet too. They were kinda leaky and hard to eat but it still tastes really good!

I found this place through BlogTO and my friends and I knew we had to drop by! It was a rainy weekday and it wasn't busy at all, the store is pretty small though with a few chairs if you want to enjoy your food inside. We got the ~ $5 taiyaki cone with a scoop of green tea and red bean ice cream. It is exactly how it sounds, super delicious! My top green tea icecream fell though. The red bean was delicious still. It came with a cookie on top and a chocolate pocky. Note: if you were to get the taiyaki (not the cone), it does not contain egg - the taiyaki cone however does contain egg so be careful if you're allergic I would totally return if I'm in the area.

Came here after a big meal and wanted some dessert. My friend and I shared a cone and honestly thought it was pretty okay. It was messy to eat but it is a great place to have some taiyaki with ice cream at a good price.

Came to Red Bean Waffle House for the first time to get something light to eat while I was in the area, and found out that this little shop sells not only Korean food, but Japanese treats as well! I don't remember what I ordered exactly, but it was a lunch meal and everything came together (aside from the tayaki). I miss the food just looking at the pictures- definitely going back when I can.

Absolutely love their red bean fish waffles and their Korean street snacks. Been trying their food when they have the street vendor on Yonge. The price has increased since then, which is reasonable. Food it's consistent and it's fresh. Definitely recommend this place.

Great red bean Korean pancake. Very convenient located in the plaza across Centerpoint mall. In addition to the Korean pancake, they also have fish shaped waffles in red bean. They even have green bean pancakes now. I've got to try that someday. Oh yea for summers, you can have fish shaped waffle with ice-cream, I love those things :) They have dumplings and squid patty. Both are good as they defrost in microwave and cook it when you order. Served hot and nice.

Delicious! Wonderful! I want more now! Came to this plaza to go to the TD, but noticed that THIS is where the red bean waffle house is. Ever since I saw Jennifer K's delicious photos, I wanted to print them off and eat them. But I decided to wait and go for myself. The place is quite small, but service was fast and the guy working there was courteous. My boyfriend pointed out the fact that this place was opened by the same people that run the pojangmacha food carte at yonge and finch. No wonder.. all the food seems so similar. I didn't try the other stuff but I had the giant red bean waffle stuffed with ice cream and it was delicious! SOOO much ice cream though, but biting into the ice cream and the waffle is definitely a treat. The waffle is crisped to perfection and it's crunchy and chewy all at the same time. Perfect. I also liked the fact that the red bean taste was not overpowering. Just thinking and writing about the amazing waffle I had today is mouth watering and I am just baffled by how good it was. I am definitely coming back.. like, now.

Red bean taiyaki & nutella taiyaki. Nice and freshly made!

I've been eating waffles from this place since they had their cart in front of shoppers by yonge/finch. Their classic red bean taiyaki is honestly the best I've had. It's the perfect combination of waffle and filling. I recent made a trip to try their nutella filling taiyaki, but I found it a bit too sweet. It might be better if they mixed in dark chocolate to balance it out a bit more.

Red bean filled waffle cake in the shape of a fish? Bungeoppang I saw that in Korean grocery stores and oh they tastes so good especially when they are freshly made. And you probably saw it at Toronto a la cart at Yonge and Finch. http://m.yelp.ca/biz/kims-%C3%A0-la-cart-north-york Red Bean Waffle House, a newly opened Korean pastry and snack place is run by the same people of the only successful food cart program by City of Toronto. Open 6 days of week and they really prefected this snack. The outlayer always crispy, inside stuffed with red bean and just the ultimate comfort food. 6 for $5 I almost started eating them before I got home... and trust me, I could have eaten all of them myself! There are also Korean snacks like rice cake, squid, pancakes, dumplings available. You have a choice of eating in at a small bar area or to go.

The Red Bean Waffle House is one of my favourite spots for dessert. Their quality is always fresh and their staff are so friendly. My favourite item on the menu is the custard filled waffles in the cute fish shapes. They taste incredible, I highly recommend!

Who knew that delicious fish-shaped waffles and ice cream could be obtained from a tiny little takeout shop in Vaughan? This takeout restaurant serves Korean rice cakes and a couple of other savoury items but the real draw is their waffles shaped like little fish. You can order ones filled with mung beans, custard, and red bean. Special open-mouthed, red bean filled, fish shaped waffle cones can be ordered with one scoop ($4.44) or two scoops ($5.55) of pretty decent ice cream. Choices include black sesame, ginger, green tea, coconut, red bean, mango, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They ran out of the red bean waffle cones by the time hubby was going to order, so they gave him his order of ginger and black sesame ice creams in a cup and didn't charge him additional for my custard waffle. The ginger ice cream was particularly noteworthy as it had chunks of candied ginger in it. I quite enjoyed my custard waffle as the flavour and texture and the sweet smell of the waffles whisked me away to recall having similar fresh made waffles in one of the flea markets in Kyoto. The price you pay for ice cream and red bean waffle cone is well worth it as it's very filling! I definitely recommend especially if you're a fan of red bean or custard waffles.

If you're GF Not Worth Jumping Through the Hoops…read more When I found this place online, I was so excited. When one must follow a gluten-free diet, it is so nice to find places where you can eat what everyone else gets to enjoy. This was anything but enjoyable. I was planning a little Halloween getaway to Kingston and searching for a new and exciting breakfast place to stop on my way there. I found Heaffles and read through their website--I'm always very careful and vet my restaurants before the trip and plan food meticulously, you have to when you cannot eat gluten. The site stated that if you want a gluten free waffle, you must call 24 hours ahead of time. I immediately thought that was ridiculous (that eliminates any possibility of a GF person walk-in from eating there) but messaged them on Instagram. I asked if I could message then and schedule or did a I have to call. They told me I must call the day before. Pain in the bum, but I set a reminder in my phone and did so. The next day, I show up. Such a cute place and the breakfast that kicks off a trip always makes me so happy. We don't eat out much at all, living so rurally. It had also been ages since I'd enjoyed a GF waffle, so excitement was high. This place has a ton of potential. The seating is cute, the bathrooms clean and so beautifully decorated. There is even a little cubby with cushions that would make it feel as though one was having breakfast in bed. I really did fall in love with the space. There didn't appear to me to be a traditional server comes to your table. You walk in and place your order at the counter. I ordered a Flat White to drink along with a water and a gluten-free coconut rush. The young lady at the counter was very quick to tell me that they had a customer coming in to get a GF waffle and that they only had enough batter for one waffle and that I would need to try again and call 24 hours beforehand. Right before I told her I was that customer, my brain was like, what? You have enough batter for ONE waffle??? I make GF stuff all the time. It is NOT that expensive. And what if you mess up that ONE waffle (and they did because she didn't listen to me)? I said, "Oh, I called yesterday." And I had driven a very long way. I would hate for anyone else to do that and end up disappointed. After that, I was allowed to order my waffle. Coconut is my favourite sweet flavour, but it came with strawberries and strawberry syrup. I told her THREE times I didn't want the strawberries or the syrup. Strawberry jam, jelly syrup...I hate them all, also cannot stand cooked fruit. She told me she could put the strawberries on the side and that they were uncooked. I said that was okay, but reiterated AGAIN that I do not want or like the strawberry syrup. I thought I might get my drinks at the counter, but she said they would bring everything to my table. I sat within view of the counter by the window. I assumed, as at most places, the drinks would come out first. I had started on the Terra Health heartburn kit to kick my PPI script and needed to take the supplements before eating. Some ladies came in after me and they got their drink order while I sat and waited. The waffle came out, and I was too panicked by not taking my supplements to pay that much attention and told them I needed some water and that I didn't have my coffee yet. They came back in a few minutes and in the meantime, I saw that the waffle I'd paid nearly $30 for, along with a very tiny flat white coffee, was drenched...every inch in yucky strawberry syrup. I'm a silver lining kind of girl, so I told myself to try it, maybe my tastes have changed. Nope. It was this strong, chemically strawberry flavour that made me gag. Talk about disappointed. At this point it was late in the morning and I was starving. I opened up the waffle (the size, even if they'd managed to listen to my order was not worth what I paid) and ate some of the filling out. The only waffle that had no nasty syrup was at the fold and I ate the four bites I could. The coffee was literally 3 swallows. I left hungry and angry. And in all that time, no one ever came back to ask me how the order was...and I knew I couldn't send it back because that was their ONE GF waffle batter of the day. I had to stop at Wendy's and spend another $10 for a bunless burger after. I would never go back. The ask and not having the batter available is beyond RIDICULOUS, despite the fact they don't listen, which makes a GF person VERY nervous. You couldn't pay me to eat there again. Poor service, poor value and food I couldn't stomach. Not for me.
