Deserts were so amazing! And the staff was so nice :) I do wish the seating area was alittle bit better as we did have a stroller with us and seating was kind of tight, but not a major thing to take away from this dessert cafe! I would highly recommend to everyone if you love matcha! Not to sweet and matcha flavour was perfect amount!
Small, cute Japanese cafe in front of a ramen restaurant. Some coffee options, but mostly hojicha and matcha offerings. There is also a good selection of dessert bites, but didn't find any savoury options. The service was friendly and quick (admittedly it wasn't very busy). There isn't a lot of space to sit - so not really a place to go and linger.

I was visiting Konjiki Ramen and decided to visit Saryo Cafe, which shares the same space as the ramen spot. I saw the adorable Cookies & Creme Choux Bear Puff ($7.75) and had to get it. I also grabbed an Iced Matcha Latte ($5.25) as well. I loved both items, especially the matcha latte, since it had a nice strong matcha flavour. Service was friendly as well and they have some stools along the walls if you wanted to have your items at the cafe. I did take one star off, as I do find both items pricey relative to the size of the items.
I've stopped by here pre-COVID when Konjiki and Saryo first opened and it's nice to see they are both still here post pandemic. Saryo matcha has not disappointed before and continues not to do so. Ordered a strawberry matcha soft serve in a cone (seasonal item) and loved the richness of the matcha soft serve flavour. The strawberry flavour wasn't too artificial and the tartness complimented the sweetness too. Some parts of the swirl felt like there was more strawberry than matcha and I did debate whether I should've gotten purely a matcha swirl, but that just gives me a chance to come back here again. Service was quick, it was just my indecisiveness that took a bit lol. There is minimal seating but for a Saturday afternoon there was space at the bar seats. Wouldn't be able to accommodate bigger groups / families though.

It usually comes with red bean, but I wasn't feeling it so the server offered strawberries as a substitute for them. The ice cream had a nice tea flavour with hints of caramel underlying it all. It's hard to see in the picture but there are also some corn flakes at the bottom of the cup that add a satisfying crunch. The only thing I didn't really like was the mochi pieces in the cup as I found them to be a bit hard and not as soft and chewy as I would like. Overall it was a good experience, and something to cleanse the palate.

Hojicha is green tea but it has been roasted over charcoal to remove bitterness, leaving a nutty toasty sweet flavor. We really enjoyed the unique taste and will be looking out for more Hojicha items in the future. The Anmitu bowl comes with anmitsu (small cubes of agar jelly), mochi, red bean and some fresh fruit. I liked the addition of the anmitsu as it helped give another texture to the icecream.

The staff was nice and there were a few seats by the entrance, but it is very limited seating so my friends and I had to awkwardly stand as the seats were taken and it was cold outside. We moved when people were coming in and out, but it did feel like we were in the way and there wasn't anywhere else to go. What I got: Matcha soft serve Final Thoughts: The waffle cone was yummy and the matcha flavour was okay but I wished the soft serve was creamier. It's nice to have as an option if you're in the area, but I found the soft serve a bit icy and it fell a tad short of my expectations.

Saryo is our favourite way to end our meal at Konjiki! This time we had a chance to try out the ube basque cheesecake and the matcha soft serve thingy (the name escapes me now). The ube basque cheesecake felt a little dry but the flavour was delicious nonetheless. Their matcha soft serve was bold and creamy, and it was a perfect end to another tasty meal at Konjiki. read more
As a total coffee girl and with my husband loving matcha, Saryo Cafe is basically our dream spot. The coffee hits just right, and his matcha is smooth and perfectly balanced. The vibe is super cozy and intimate--ideal for date vibes or just a chill catch-up. Cute little details everywhere too! read more

Saryo Cafe is a small Cafe / Dessert shop that is joined with Konjiki Ramen. Perhaps both venues share the same owner or there is some sort of partnership...I'm not sure. However, I do know you can purchase your desserts and eat inside the Ramen shop area. Konjiki Ramen has an entrance through the cafe as well. The Cafe itself is small, not a whole lot of room inside. There are bar style seats flanking the walls of the cafe. #Sugar: ~ Anmitsu Bowl (PREMIUM Matcha) - 4/5 Brilliant Matcha Soft Serve with Red ban Jelly and Mochi. The best matcha latte I've had in Toronto so far!! So rich & not too milky It's located in the Konjiki at Yonge, and the store has limited indoor seating as it's mostly meant as a take out spot. No complaints with the service. I only wish they had more locations in the GTA! read more

The food is okay. I didnt like the ice cream but thats because i dont like tea food that much. The ube cheesecake was nice and yummy but too dry. Service is nice and the place is also connected to konjiki ramen. Theres a small seating area in the corner. read more

It's located inside of Konjiki Ramen. The cafe itself is small and doesn't have a lot of sitting. More than half of their menu were sold out when I went on a Friday evening. They only had soft serve or latte available. I had their hojicha latte float, the hojicha was strong and you can really taste the roasted flavour. The sweetness of the soft serve went well with the latte. We also had the uji bouquet matcha cheesecake after our ramen and we enjoyed every single bite - the crust was unique and very matcha-y. read more

Great! The matcha ice cream and the houjicha ice cream is great here! Quite similar to other places but I found both are a bit less sweet and you can taste more of the tea flavour - which I love. The ice cream comes with red bean and 2 mochi balls. You can choose to exchange the red bean for something else if you want. They also have lattes and other drinks. I would definitely come back and try their other offerings. read more

I'm not really a matcha fan due to past experiences. Kinda scared me away - but decided to give this a chance since the weather was really nice! I got their matcha soft serve and it was honestly amazing - the flavour wasn't too bitter nor sweet, and the matcha flavour is still very rich. So glad I discovered this Japanese dessert shop because I know where I'll be going for the rest of the summer! Only thing was that the menu was mostly sold out & when I entered the shop, all the staff were staring haha! read more
Saryo is a dessert counter specializing in matcha desserts located in North York. I recently purchased some treats for myself as it's been months since I last visited due to covid. Their mont blanc is one of my favourites as it's got both my favourite flavours present in one dessert, matcha and chestnut. The brownies are always something I was curious about but never had a chance to try, so this time was it! I purchased both the matcha and hojicha brownie. I loved the flavour in both of them and loved how it was nice and soft, it was not super sweet and the hojicha flavour was really rich. It was a challenging decision to choose a favourite, but I think it's hojicha as the tea flavour was a little stronger. This is definitely something I will purchase again! read more

Even though it's January and I was shaking from the cold, I still decided to get some matcha ice cream since I've been craving for it for so long haha The anmitsu bowl was great, the matcha flavour was quite strong (which I love) and the red beans were pleasantly sweet which complimented the matcha very well. I saved the shiratama dango for the last - it was soft and chewy and my favourite bite of the bowl. I wish they would have topping add on options in the future so I can add a few more pieces of it. read more

Cute shop that share the same entrance as konjiki ramen. They offer selection of beverages and desserts. They are often out of stock so you may not get what you want. Usually they have matcha latte and hojicha in stock. The dessert cabinet was empty on the Sunday that I went except for the rose brownies. They were $4.60 each. They have a wide range of pastries, ice creams, and drinks. The cream puffs were a bit stale but the matcha ice cream and matcha tiramisu was good. This cafe is located inside Konjiki and if you show your receipt from Konjiki ramen you can get 15% off your desserts. I also likes how you are able to order the desserts and eat it at the ramen shop. read more
I was craving some soft serve today so I visited Saryo Café. I went her a lot before but the matcha soft serve I got today tasted a bit odd than usual. It tasted and smelled a bit fishy in my opinion. I dont know what caused it to be like this but maybe it was just a bad batch. The hojicha on the other hand was really good though. It has a roasted and chocolate like taste which is so yummy!! I would definitely get the hojicha and give their matcha another try next time. read more

Love this little cafe attached to Konjiki Ramen. It's always a really nice treat to grab after a very filling meal and their products are really fresh. Especially love grabbing the brownies to go to eat later as dessert! So delicious and moist even the second day! Would definitely recommend their ice cream too... Love their ice cream!( matcha and hojicha) So far I had sundaes and parfaits.. omg I can't stop till I try everything!!! They are so good!!! I love how the parfaits have the brownies! The bottom of the cups they have a clear and matcha jelly. If you get matcha ice cream they will give you hojicha brownie. read more

Matcha Soft Serve..... Saryo Cafe is a Japanese dessert shop sharing the same space as Konijiki Ramen. Just perfect to have a dessert after eating at Konijiki. Seating though can be tight and uncomfortable as the line for Konijiki was overflowing into the seating area. The staff here though all smiley and in a good mood. I would if my desserts is making all these people happy! I will be back as I have not try their roasted hojicha soft serve. But I love their matcha everything! So smooth and just the perfect sweetness and bitterness. read more
We love the matcha amitsu bowl so much, lots of toppings (especially the jelly) that Tsujiri doesn't offer. Matcha float is also yum! But i hope that it less ice in it. Matcha lover need to try this place! I miss their Hojicha soft serve tho read more

o m g gurrrrlllllllllll, this place is SO GOOD!!! They offer a variety of soft serves in matcha or hojicha flavour. They also sell rare cheesecakes here in the same flavours, and a chestnut cake that looked really good! The matcha sundae comes with a couple mochi, some jellies, and brown sugar sauce drizzled on top. Man, that matcha soft serve... it wasn't too sweet and the matcha flavour was perfect. Would definitely come back for some more of that soft serve read more
This is a good place for Japanese desserts, especially for their different versions of green tea ice cream. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were not sure if wanted hojicha or their matcha, so they provided a spoonful of each to sample. I preferred the hojicha ice cream which had a nice roasted flavour with a bitter sweet, almost chocolaty, taste. Others in the group preferred the matcha, which had a taste that was more traditional and straight forward for green tea. We ended up ordering a Hojicha Sundae, a Matcha Sundae, a Matcha Signature Parfait and a Matcha ice cream cone with oiri (rice candy puffs). The sundaes were very good and served in a cup with red beans, a little sauce, and two round jelly mochi balls. The parfait was the same as the sundae but served in a larger cup with cubes of jelly, cubes of matcha cake and granola. I didn't like the matcha cake or the jelly cubes, and the granola didn't go with that type of ice cream. Overall, their service was very friendly, and their ice cream was very good, especially the hojicha. Although a bit pricey for the portion size, I would recommend this place for anyone who likes hojicha and matcha ice cream. read more

I love this place ! The last time I was here for Konjiki ramen next door we were too full to try anything for desert. Today we passed by in the afternoon and I couldn't resist grabbing something quick. This is a Japanese dessert shop with good selections for sundaes and drinks. The Matcha soft serve is the star of the show! Tried the Matcha sundae and hot Sencha. So delicious. The soft serve matcha is the real deal intensely flavour. Not your usually overly sweetened mass produced green tea ice cream flavour. Loved the green tea jelly and rice ball toppings. Sencha was hot and robust. Small selection of cakes and tarts. Only downside is not much sitting room here and mainly grab and go place. Overall great Japanese dessert and tea shop in the area. read more

This cafe share the same space with Konjiki Ramen in North York. Not sure if it is a limited time offer, but if you have a receipt from Konjiki Ramen, you get a discount from Saryo the same day. The matcha parfait is absolutely delicious. They put the parfit together in front of you, as if they are creating a piece of art. The soft ice cream is not too sweet and has an authentic matcha flavour. The chunks of matcha cake is chewy and complements the ice cream really well. I read somewhere that their matcha powder is imported from Japan. The rare uji matcha and rare hojicha cheesecake look very appealing. The hojicha latte is another must try. The bittersweet, aromatic taste is to die for. Their creation, as with most food these days, are instagram-ready! They only have very limited seating. I think it's best to have take out rather than dine in as this place can be really busy at times. read more
A must try dessert place in North York. The creamiest and best tasting parfaits are served here, especially if you are a fan of tea flavoured ice creams. [Items Tried] Kinako Parfait (5/5) - $7.95 Taste: A roasted soybean flavour that is sweet but not too sweet - topped with mochi, red bean, jelly, and hojicha cream. Delicious with a creamy texture. Portion: Good to share between 2 people [Value for Money] Definitely on the pricier side for desserts but well worth if you shared with another person. My favourite is their hojicha. read more
Saryo Cafe is located just right in front of Konjiki Ramen. The space is small and people waiting for ramen will probably end up watching you eat your soft serve, but it's well worth it. There are around 8-9 seats available in the small space and staff are always very polite and friendly. They specialize in matcha and hojicha soft serve but they also have a variety of other cakes as well. The hojicha soft serve and sundae are my all time favourites! I've also tried the Uji matcha brown and it was delicious as well. Definitely a favourite in the neighbourhood, I know I will be back for more in the spring/summer. read more
We came here as we were craving for some ice cream! However, when we arrived lots of their items on their menu is not available. They don't even have cones available! :( Their ice cream still tasted fabulous! I'm just a little disappointed with the limited items on the menu. read more

The Uji Matcha Parfait was sooo rich in matcha flavor! It's pretty filling, so I would split this between two people. My only complaint is that it's hard to mix the toppings in with the soft serve, especially the ones on the bottom. I enjoyed the green tea jello they added! read more
