I love Vinyl nerds. The proprietor of this music and DVD store is fully VERSED ;-} in all things music, then and now. Helpful and with well formed opinions about the music scene. I love the small music stores of Vancouver. Over priced, and pathetically thin "World" music sections... but where else are you going to find people to talk about the "Post Apocalyptic" music scene. When downloading music will be only a story you tell the children and you're making turntables out of copper wire and magnets. Yes. Damn -I have to take this call. Just when "Children of Men" was starting to play in my head. Love that movie!

Great little store! Always manage to find something whenever I'm in there. Good place to go to get concert tickets too.

So, it appears to be time for another update…read more I spent about 90 minutes in the shop rummaging through 100s of LPs sitting on the floor. It looked like what was left from a lot of titles which probably cost the store owner very little. As I continued searching (for anything of value) I did manage to locate 3 records of interest; a John Lennon, a Leonard Cohen, and another one whose name escapes me, now a couple of months after the fact. The records were interspersed between 100s of titles which were essentially worthless. The 3 items of interest were dirty and in need of a good cleaning. When I showed these items to the owner he said, "I didn't even know I had these". "How much for these please?" I replied. To my surprise Nick priced each record according to the median on Discogs. After 90 minutes of searching, for 3 dirty items he didn't even know he had?! Needless to say, I really expected to get some sort of deal. I left empty handed and unhappy. I seams that this store is more interested in making money than they are in keeping loyal customers. There are other, better places to purchase records in the Vancouver area. Places I regularly leave happy with the deals I receive. I do not think that I will be returning here. Sincerely, Felix

Found a rare copy of The Eagles Greatest Hits for $2.99, seems pricey to me but I just love those Eagles. Artists are alphabetized by last name with was very confusing for me. Music is too loud in the store, I think I even heard a swear word. I'll be bringing my mouldy old box of records and DVDs from my basement by to sell, I'm pretty sure I have some expensive super rare Beatles records in there, I bet it will blow their minds! Well, I have heard about this place and that they sell records and CDs and etc. I have never went inside. I decided to go in and see for myself. Outside looks like one of those old ghetto shops on Commercial Drive that looks like they have been here forever. Yeah maybe they have been here forever. I mean at least 20 years. Or even more. Inside was very well organized and bright. They have some pretty cool records for sale. Unfortunately, I am not one of those music advocate/ artist. I mean I do understand the music quality is better on records. To me I would not care much if I listened music on a CD or radio or ipad or ipod vs the highend record player. They have pretty good stuff here.

I was going to let it go, but a friend has told me of a similar experience at Zulu Records a couple of days ago, and so I decided to come forward here. I had inquired about going upstairs to browse through the discounted records, and was told that there was probably "nothing for me" in that section (whatever the heck that meant...I can draw some conclusions) even though he had no idea of what I would be looking for. Keep in mind this isn't the first I've heard of this. I won't be going back to this store. I suggest visiting the Main Street (Neptune and RedCat Records) and downtown vintage record stores (BeatStreet) instead. The ironically named "Zulu" may have a decent collection of LP's but the service from management is ghastly.
