Rosendo teaches a wide variety of Zumba classes that are infused with hip-hop, samba, bachata,…read moresalsa, reggeaton, and Mexican-cumbia dance moves. Even when you think you are a bachata-master or a reggeaton queen, he will challenge your body and keep your feet, body, and mind learning something new. He even does dance choreography! I've been attending his Zumba Classes which include: Weight training and Zumba Toning for about a month now, and I am hooked! His classes are 1 hour long and typically start on-time. If you arrive late, no worries, you won't feel out of place. I've attended his 10AM and 7PM classes and they are both friendly and hardworking group of men and women combined. On average, there is 15-20 participants in classes. The 7PM class gets a bigger crowd. In his Weight Training Class, he provides yoga mats, dumb bells ranging from 1.5-10 lbs, (you are welcomed to bring your own), resistance bands, and gliders. The space is a banquet hall studio so it has hardwood flooring. Bring your own water bottle! There isn't a water fountain or machine to purchase goods. Rosendo is dedicated to teaching Zumba, and teaching his students proper techniques when it comes to lifting and toning. $5 Zumba Class - Affordable! Monthly $50, and well worth it if you are serious about losing weight or toning up. Las clases de Rosendo son bien divertidas. Mind you, our daughter got hurt at the beginning of spring session (so we paid for an entire session) and is on crutches, barely being able to walk. HouseHold Arts Collective is a not-for-profit organization which produces artistic and educational community programming under 3 divisions - Open House Dance Collective, Second Floor Dance, and Fusebox Art. Each division specializes in its own unique events in multidisciplinary arts and involving the arts community and community at large in different ways. I participated in Open House Dance in 2008, which produces yearly summer dance concerts in downtown Chicago. Community members, regardless of skill level, rehearse with professional choreographers, giving them the opportunity to perform in a professional public dance concert that they may not otherwise have. A portion of the funds raised through ticket sales is donated to a charity. OHD was fun for the most part. It allows inexperienced dancers to learn from some great choreographers and perform on stage in front of a few hundred people. If you are a trained dancer, you will probably not enjoy it as much since the choreography will be too easy, you'll barely break a sweat at practice, and you won't be challenged by the dancers around you. If you're looking for something to do during the summer or if you want to meet new people while trying something new, it's worthwhile to give this a try.
