NEVER rent here. I lived here for 3 months with my boyfriend and we are already getting out of the lease. When we moved in we looked over the obvious smell of animal odor. But come to find out our apartment was INFESTED with fleas from the previous owner. After suffering numerous bites, asked the landlord to take care of that, and the floor which is practically falling through in the bathroom. The fleas are taken care of now, but he has yet to say a single word about the floor which has obvious water damage (probably mold). Recently, we found BLACK MOLD under our window. When confronting the landlord, he said he took care of it, and apologized. Only to a few hours later call (AND ACT INCREDIBLY RUDE) about the black mold, saying that in order for him to fix the apartment, we'd have to move out and we have 24 hours to tell him if we're moving out.. We're moving out. And we will be letting everyone know of our HORRIBLE experience. read more

I will start this review by saying the previous managers were fired for being paid for upkeep and maintenance that never took place. I will provide a list of issues I have reported to both the previous managers (over two years ago) as well as the current managers via their online portal on the 1st of July. None of the following issues have been resolved as of July 11. - air condition not working (we have a disabled Son who gets overheated daily) It's JULY. - holes in laundry room floor (rotten wood), holes in both bathroom floors (rotten wood) - kitchen counter is dry rotted and has fallen off of the wall altogether. - black mold throughout (I can see the mold because the wallpaper that had been held together by staples has started to separate itself from the walls.) - kitchen drawers dry rotted (some were missing upon move in) - no working lights (we use lamps we bought at wall mart) - no master bedroom door since move in - carpet was never replaced or even cleaned after previous owners - pit bull / pit mix allowed on complex (think whatever you want, this one is territorial and has proven to be aggressive - it is also never kept on a leash). At this point I am considering contacting the Health Department, the Better Business Bureau as well as filing what is known as a Congressional. The people that own these apartments are terrible with the upkeep. Hole in bathroom floor was promised to be fixed the whole 10 months we were there and nothing. Constant leaking bathtub and sink they were made aware of several times and the only reason they fixed that was because a pipe burst in the walls during the winter. Floor in laundry room is caving in and sure they were aware of that the whole time they were in and out fixing the busted pipe. Mold in AC unit many tenants have complained about and they blame it on people smoking in the apartments. Broke our lease 2 months before it was up and had to fight with corporate about getting a deposit back because nothing that was promised to be fixed was. read more

Mold galore! Mold was found behind the wallpaper, air vents, attic, and the entire kitchen area. Once the apartment managers were aware of this, they said that they would gut it. However, there was someone else in a different apartment that moved out due to mold and they had someone move in two weeks later without any renovation crew. The apartment was left in the same condition as I moved into it. Did not receive the deposit back even though the deposit was promised back in full before even moving out. Had noise issue problems at all hours and after so long of dealing with the issues, complained, and was laughed at with no resolution...this went on for months. Don't live here if at all possible. I'm a current resident of Red Deer Apartments and have been here since 2010. Though these properties are older most of the apartments are in great condition for being 30 years old. I agree they can use some updating cause things are starting to break. Most have had their carpets replaced within the last year and most air conditioning units are new as well. Our Landlord lives right on the property so he's always around. the office does keep banker hours but since he lives right next door you can normally catch him outside most evening. Snow removal is does asap. he tries to get the Driveway first then the walkways but will wait till the snow slows down to do more than salt. we have not had any break in or thieves since he took over summer of 2011. I gave it 5 stars on the noise because my husband works nights and we can normally sleep through the day without issues. Then at night its very quite as well, between 6-9 there are normal neighborhood noises. Also keep in mind if you looking to rent we do live by the interstate so there is traffic all night but that can't be helped because of location. I plan to stay here another 3 years. read more
