I was seen in this office 5 weeks ago for some of the worst teeth/jaw pain I've ever experienced, after being hit in the face. My dentist referred me here after they weren't able to find any nerve issues, gum issues, cracked teeth, root canals, etc. After some X-rays and tests (the same tests my dentist did) were done, they couldn't find anything as well. With the amount of pain I was in, I asked if they had any recommendations for pain management as cycling Tylenol and ibuprofen was doing nothing. The joke of a person who calls himself a professional, Hamberlin, told me "I could recommend a psychiatrist". I paid this place to have one of their professionals basically tell me it was all in my head. 5 weeks later, pain is still there, and now my tooth is loose. I have been here twice and had to have an upper-back tooth root canal. I was in and out in less than an hour, pain-free and I barely needed a Tylenol later (went right back to work). The staff is friendly, courteous and genuinely kind. It's hard to even get friendly service anywhere these days, it's nice to know people are still getting into their professions based on a passion and genuine interest in helping people. Dr was nice, but in spite of expensive X-rays had only guesses as to my tooth pain. Office staff incompetent. I received many apologies but they forgot I was there waiting and ignored me for 30 minutes. My first root canal ever and I had no idea what to expect. My dentist office made the appointment for me and I was scheduled a week out and I started having trouble with the tooth in question. I called Red Mountain and spoke with Brighton. She is wonderful and efficient. She added me to the cancellation list and said they would see if they could get me in any earlier. I recieved a call later that afternoon and they found an early appointment for me. She was so kind and wonderful to go the extra mile for my discomfort. Already, customer serve is 5 stars!! When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted with good mornings and friendly conversation. Everyone at the desk was wonderful! I was taken right back to Meet Dr Richardson, he is very nice and explains everything he is going to be doing and why. Very nice to hear and completely understand what all was expected during this visit. He had a new hire or a student in school in the office and he spoke so kindly and the way he taught and included her in the process was refreshing. You can tell his staff has respect for him and he does for them as well. Lovely place to be a patient. Root canal was flawless, painless and quick. Staff was amazing and I thought Dr Frost would be also but after calling to verify information on a prescription sent to my pharmacy, I received a call that Dr Frost wasn't comfortable ama wouldn't work on my tooth. Comfortable with what? That was my question. Just not comfortable. This doctor assumed I was calling for something else obviously then just listening to my concern. I've never felt more degraded and now I continue to have to find care for an infected tooth because of 1 doctor's ignorance. Do not waste your time or money on the doctor. No one likes getting dental work done, but the staff all made it a very present experience. The whole office is super comfortable and patient centered. I had Dr. Hamblin that did my root canal and I LOVED that he explained things as they went. I had to have a root canal and wanted an Endodontist to do the work. This was my first visit here and I can't say enough good things about this professional office. My husband had a root canal re-treatment done with Dr. Richardson. The physician was good but the staff and their service were terrible. There were multiple issues/red flags that we encountered: 1. We paid twice but they only recorded once (luckily we saved the receipt). 2. They used the wrong code for billing which caused the first denial (I had to call them telling them to correct it (I used to do medical coding/billing)). 3. They billed for the wrong date of service which caused another denial/duplicate....We were told that they don't submit pre-treatment plan because it would take 6-8 weeks but my insurance said it would be 1-2 days (our other dentists and periodontist do this all the time- we can see them online too). I strongly recommend you to seek treatments/services with other providers instead. FYI, their other location got bad reviews as well (3 stars). read more

I had a week and a half of problems with one of my teeth that began with me having a lot of pain the end of one week that troubled me over the weekend, removal and replacement of a filling int hat tooth on the following Tuesday, slight relief, more pain, and then excruciating pain that culminated in me being in so much pain that I needed an emergency root canal on a Friday morning/afternoon. My dental office referred me to Red Mountain Endodontics. I was told if I could head there right away they would fit me in. I finished up what I could at work and then rushed to their office with what I've described, as a migraine sufferer, as feeling like I had a migraine in my mouth. I couldn't focus, couldn't think, it was a nightmare. When I got to their office they were all so caring and concerned with what I was going through. They got me in a chair and verified that I was in need of a root canal and carefully injected the troubled area with anesthetic so that I could get a little bit of relief and be able to function until they could set up and get me in for the job in about 30-45 minutes, I hate needles, I hate getting shots, especially in my mouth, but they did a great job of getting me through the process. I went for a little walk around the small strip mall near their office to pass the time and put my headphones in to let music distract and soothe the savage beast of pain that was attacking me. I returned to the office and they got me to the back pretty quickly and were ready to do the work. I was ready too, lol. They did an excellent job of calming my anxiety and taking care to make this experience as pain-free as they could for me. They noticed my headphones and gave me the ok to put them in during the session. That made a huge difference for me. The music allowed me to veer my focus away from what was going on in my mouth, my mind has a habit of coming up with its own vivid ideas of what is going on and it usually makes mountains out of molehills, so, it was nice to be able to catch myself and get my focus off of what was going on in my mouth and relax with the music. In my particular case, the root canal did not give me immediate relief, I still had a lot of pain that evening, but come Saturday I experienced a lot of relief and by Sunday I was relatively pain-free. The lingering pain had nothing to do with the Doctor, just my individual issue. All in all, I highly, highly recommend this office, everyone on staff was very nice to me, and from what I read that seems to be the norm. On Monday I received a follow-up call, that I didn't get a chance to answer, and they had left a message asking how I'm doing and if everything is going well. read more

Saw Dr. Richardson on 8/23/13 - I was experiencing some sensitivity in the tooth he did a root canal on two months ago, and was concerned that there might be a problem. The staff was able to get me in right away, and although Dr. Richardson was very busy, he took the time to COMPLETELY evaluate my situation, and reassure me that everything was fine. I cannot say enough about this business, and about Dr. Richardson. I have seen both offices, and everything is TOP NOTCH in my book. I knew I needed to see an endodontist urgently for a tooth that has had a root canal and a crown. A strange bubble had formed on my gum-line one morning, and even though it didn't hurt, I was anxious that it was an abscess. I had just moved to the area and didn't have a new dentist yet. I also didn't have dental insurance yet figured I might as well go straight to a specialist since I would be paying out of pocket. I picked this local office because it has perfect ratings on yelp. I called at 11am and the receptionist was so kind to me as I explained to her my situation. She was able to slip me in for a 3:30pm appointment that day. I was so grateful they were able to get me in at the last minute! I arrived and I got brought in without much wait time. They did 3D imaging of my teeth which was very easy and painless, as well as an apical bitewing. I really appreciated the thoroughness of my evaluation. My endodontist that came to see me was Dr. Hamberlin who was very friendly and empathetic. It was indeed what I suspected, an abscess! He explained to me what may have occurred and drew on the digital imaging to help me understand my tooth situation. He quickly made a referral to an oral surgeon who was also wonderful. I had a really good experience during a time that was rather stressful. The office consult was $99, but I felt it was worth it because they were able to bring me in on such a short notice and I wasn't charged extra for my digital imaging. Thanks again! read more

My 10yr old was having tooth pains starting Sunday so I schedule him for an appointment with his regular dentist. My husband took him and they were told he needs to see a specialist today. They schedule us here and I can tell you immediately Jonelle (maybe I'm spelling her name wrong) at the front desk was very pleasant and understanding. She talked to my little guy and answer his million questions he had about what will happen next I thought that was nice and patient of her. I have to say the check in went very smoothly and quickly, I went into a another room and filled out everything electronically on the computer and that was it. We saw Dr. Hamberlin. He was also very patient and understanding answering my little guys questions. My son was nervous and in pain already he was worried about needles and feeling more pain. A root canal will need to be done but they couldn't do any major work today because my son was so swollen and in pain they had to give him some antibiotics first and we will have to come back in a week. I got worried, I didn't want him in pain for a week! They reassure me the antibiotics will bring the swollen face down and help ease the pain with my continued doses of Ibprofens given to him. Needless to say by Friday we had to come back to get his infection drained. Dr. Richardson was the available doctor to do the procedure. He knew my son was very upset by this point and in pain. He was very patient and gentle. He talked to my son throughout the procedure which was assuring for him and for me. He was also concern with how swollen my sons face was. He drained the infected area but gave me his cell phone number so I can text him with pictures and updates the next day, Saturday. Saturday, after I sent updated text and pictures to Dr. Richardson he immediately advise us to head to the emergency room, we ended up being transported by ambulance from the emergency room to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Through out this whole ordeal Dr. Richardson stayed in contact with us and with the doctors at the hospital. I'm just very impressed with how involved Dr. Richardson was and it speaks volumes of how much he does care for his patients. read more

I really enjoyed my root canal RE-TREATMENT!!! My dentist did the first root canal cause I was in pain & it was Friday; it was brutal and I spent that night in excruciating pain (the tooth had 3 roots, not the usual 2). So when the tooth became painful again I was referred to Dr. Scott Johnson, oh happy coincidence!! Dr Johnson is what we'd like every Doctor to be; he is highly skilled, attentive to details, aware of his client's experience, supportive and patient, respectful to patient and staff. He answered every question and checked on my well-being frequently. The ONLY pain I had was that initial injection of anesthetic. No pain with the procedure, not a single sensation of pain afterwards!!! He used a barrier that at first I thought, "oh no, what's this?" But I loved it! It isolates the tooth he's working on and there's not a bunch of stuff flying into the mouth. I really liked it! Katy was my assistant to Dr Johnson, she was great as well; she thought to offer me Ibuprofen to get it on board right away, which was smart! Every single person I've spoken with at this office at any time had an attitude of helpfulness and cheerfulness that I'm sure was real, not a veneer! I left after my procedure feeling grateful, appreciated, and kinda joyful--and definitely relieved!! It was a completely positive experience!!! read more

Can't say enough good things about this practice! It is well run and very professional. The office staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. I was introduced to Red Mountain Endodontics with a referral from a dentist who I recently left. 5 years ago I came to RME for a root canal on a newly crowned tooth. Dr. Hamberlin is a great guy who makes you feel at ease by cracking corny jokes and has good bedside manner. He explains each step of the process and educates you regarding the procedure. My tooth had 5 canals in it and he was sure to make sure each one was cleared out. You hear nightmares about root canals but it wasn't even painful. It was my one and only and perhaps he is so gentle it didn't faze me. I didn't have insurance at the time and RME was very fair in their pricing and I don't feel like they took advantage of insurance pricing versus cash pricing. I feel like many places may do this. Flash forward 5 years and I once again needed to visit Dr. Hamberlin regarding the same tooth. I did have an infection. Dr. Hamberlin took care of me and went the extra mile in order to get me back feeling good without pain in that tooth. He personally oversaw the care and made sure he performed the final permanent filling in order to "own" his work. I can't thank him enough for his care if I could give 10 stars I would. While on a business trip last week, my lower molar started aching uncontrollably with sharp pain. After calling my regular dentist, he recommended seeing an Endodontist immediately informing me I had a dying nerve and the pain would only increase. After looking here on Yelp, I called Red Mountain, and to my surprise, they were able to see me WITHIN THE HOUR! Their office decor was extremely professional and looked like something right out of Architecture Digest. After being greeted and welcomed, rather than the employee handing me a clipboard with pages to full out, I was lead to a private room with touchscreen computers and I experienced my first ALL DIGITAL paperwork, including digital signature! I wish EVERY place had this! Dr. Frost and the technician Ashley carefully explained in simple terms everything that was going on with my dying nerve and the root canal procedure they were about to perform. After a little anesthetic and about 90 minutes of Dr. Frost's careful dentistry, I was on my way with no more pain! RECOMMENDED! read more

Pain free, efficient and incredibly nice people. They even saved me from a tooth needing a root canal by determining it wasn't the tooth, but a sinus infection. The receptionist called Into my insurance quickly & got it all taken care of for me. Since I was in so much pain I had called around to about 4 other places & this place by far was the quickest & on top of everything! Also best price! I hadn't told them but there was a death in the family two days before I got the procedure done so I was very stressed & anxious & they were so kind, answered all my questions patiently (a lot of times you feel rushed in offices) & the procedure was so quick & easy! Dr. Hamberlin and his staff are awesome. I had to have my first root canal today and I was having a lot of anxiety about it. I have always heard the horror stories about root canals and I have to say my experience was painless... he is amazing! In my experience, most dentists will come in, look at the x-ray, roll up their sleeves and get to work with very little explanation. Dr. Hamberlin is quite the opposite. He sat with me and explained exactly what he needed to do, including drawing on my x-ray to illustrate the specifics of the procedure. He put me totally at ease. Once he started the procedure other than some minor expected twinges it was easy. As he put it "like having a cavity filled". During the procedure he continues to explain different steps he is taking and lets you know how much time is remaining. If I ever need any other oral surgery in the future he is the only doctor I will see. I highly recommend him. read more
