Growing up, Red Ribbon was always our default place to get birthday cakes for anyone in the family. We would always get the Chocolate Mousse, since that was really the only cake that my mom ever bought (or my dad bought for her) during our birthday celebrations.
Now that I'm a lot older, I have a lot more reason to love Red Ribbon. Although I don't dine there often, I always make sure to order their palabok when I do get a chance. For some reason, I really like the sauce that they prepare, and how it's not too oily (or soupy, like some other places I know). I absolutely go nuts for their empanadas - especially the chicken flavor. It may be because of how the size is just perfect for merienda, or having three will fill you up for a quick meal.
My new favorite is their Ube Cake. I don't know how they do it, and I don't need to know. It has the right amount of fluff that each bite will just never be enough. read more
