Purple Oven used to be known as Starbucks' cake suppliers and thankfully for them, they've grown out of that label and have proved their worth as more than just a cake supplier.
There are many reasons why I love this bake shop starting with their price points for under 800 bucks (unless you're buying a cheesecake which is priced at P820), you get to choose from their generous selection of sans rival and chocolate cakes, depending of course on what's available that day. Then there's the location. Found just across Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes, it's a great place to go right after Sunday mass to buy something to take to your family brunch or lunch. For me, it's 10 minutes away from my house and is the best place to go for last minute cake shopping. Lastly, there's of course taste. While many argue that there are cakes better than Purple Over, for its price, it's definitely quality for your money. Not too sweet, the cakes and pastries sit well with everyone from kids to the grandparents. Baked fresh daily, there are no bad cakes around here. My must-trys are the Mocha Sansrival, Grandma's Chocolate Cake, and the Chocolate Campfire.
But if you don't feel like indulging in a cake, their bars are a good option too. Start with the Revel Bar if you haven't had it or if it's up your alley, their Lemon Squares are tart but yummy sweet treat. read more
