Kids liked the Hot chocolate, they were given a choice of whipped cream. Our coffees were good. We came because they said they had donuts and there were only two donuts choices. The staff was friendly and our drinks were delivered to the table we sat at to wait for them. There are a lot of pretty awesome coffee shops in Fargo, and Red River Coffee manages to be very different from most all of them. This is not necessarily a good thing. It's kind of like, Red River Coffee can't decide if they want to be a coffee shop or a Hallmark store. I just can't completely buy into it. Half of the inside of the shop is dedicated to shelves and tables full of little knick knacks and house decorations and other, but it's not really even as cool as some of the stuff you find in an actual Hallmark store. It's almost likely really low grade cheap stuff to keep everything stocked. Maybe more like a higher brow garage sale? Not to say there aren't some good things; however, overall it really lacks desire. And the coffee, it's alright. Nothing to holler over. They do have a drivethru which can be very convenient. But honestly, with all the other great coffee joints elsewhere in town, I'd pick to go to a different place 19/20 times even though this is by far the closest one to my parents' house. I don't know man- if you love Hallmark and coffee then maybe this is the place for you, but it just doesn't jive completely with me. read more

The basics for this review: - Friendly ownership and staff - Good drink selections. I generally don't get Frappuccinos at places but they have great ones here. - Excellent baked goods. Everything is good. At one time they had great caramel rolls but I don't think they have them. I think they're known for their kuchen and doughnuts. Recently I had an amazing caramel pecan bar. - Large place with plenty of seating. - This is in far-south Fargo and it's nice to have a coffee shop in this spot, as this part of town has less of them congregated compared to downtown or the retail areas like West Acres or Veterans Blvd areas. read more

I decided to try different coffee shops in the Fargo-Moorhead area and this was one of them I picked. I ordered a flavored latte with skim milk and a turkey avocado wrap. They brought me two coffees because they forgot the skim milk in the first. Offered the other to me in case I wanted to take it along. How nice was that?! The latte was good and I enjoyed sitting there drinking my coffee. The sandwich was the perfect size and tasted great. It was hard to pick because I wanted to try some of the breakfast items too. I like the colors of the establishment and the colors. It has high ceilings so it was cooler but I'm usually warm so it was fine for me. I will be back. read more

I was excited to try a local coffee place since we are from out if state. I got the Pumpkin Spice Latte and my fiancé got the Americano. Both tasted burnt. I ordered the croissant sausage egg and cheese. It was odd... the fillings were not throughout the sandwich but rather in a cup shape inside of it. And it was way too buttery :( The staff was nice but the food and drinks were not great. read more

So happy to see another local coffee shop open up in the south Fargo area! Staff was super nice and the atmosphere was inviting with a lot of bright colors. I especially liked how they had local artwork, crafts, and snacks for sale. Great place to go to do some work, read a book, or catch up with a good friend over some delicious coffee. read more

Went in to Red River for the first time, today. Cute; however, I went in this shop rather than many of the other coffee shops in Fargo because I had a discount coupon for caramel rolls. I was told they no longer sell caramel rolls. I asked if I could use the coupon ($2.00 off) on a six pack of cookies. The answer was "No, the coupon won't work". Please, they could make it work. So, rather then getting a reduced sale, good will, and future sales, instead, they got no sale and this poor review. Poor management makes for poor sales. Now headed to Beans coffee (several locations). Always get great coffee and great service, there. read more

I frequent the drive through here on weekday mornings, and I always have a wonderful experience. The drive through is efficient, and I never have to wait more than a few minutes. In addition, the staff is super friendly, and interacting with them just makes for a great start to the day. As for the menu, there is a great variety of food and beverage items. The bakery items taste homemade rather than mass produced like some other coffee shops. Furthermore, the interior offers cheerful decorations and ample seating for enjoying your coffee. While Red River does not have an app like many of the larger coffee chains, they do have a loyalty program which allows you to earn free beverages. I definitely recommend this coffee shop if you make it down to the south side of Fargo! read more

You feel welcome and comfortable the moment you step in. This is a great coffee shop. If I lived closer I would stop by everyday. The best thing about this place besides the food and ice cream, is are the little things. Big enough to have a conversation with someone without feeling cramped. In the corner the show pictures of the people of Fargo. That alone made someone like me instantly love this place. Lastly, the foam on top of the coffee is the playlist they play! A mix of oldies today and yesterday. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch, or some ice cream, look no further. read more

First time out, ordered a white chocolate mocha latte with an extra shot of espresso and topped with whipped cream. Amazing quality without a bitter taste at the bottom like with other coffee shops. Highly recommend and will be back. read more
