Thought I'd give a recent review…read more I'm a guy who's dealt with chronic pain during the past 15 years of active duty service. As you can imagine from moving every two to three years, I'm forced to start from scratch at a new pain management clinic all the time and let me tell you, it's a hassle. That wasn't case when I first visited this office. Dr. Shadid and his staff were great. I never felt rushed during our conversations and more so, I never felt judged. Yeah, a lot of pain management and regular providers tend to quickly assume their patents have the worst of intentions. I get it. A lot of people visit these clinics for the wrong reasons. I am, however, not one of them. I've had a couple of procedures so far and I'll continue to see him for future procedures. The injections and blocks have been fairly pain and stress free. That's the key. Not only less pain when trying to actually treat pain, but little to no stress. When you're getting an injection or having any procedure for pain management that causes you more pain during the process, your stress levels increase exponentially. Again, I don't dread visiting Dr. Shadid and his team because it's a very pleasant experience. The office building seems out of place and at first glance and the facade has you questioning if you want to step inside the building. Worry not. It is a clean, professional, and relaxing environment. Don't get scared off when you're looking at the front of the building. The front receptionists are great and pleasant, the RNs/techs are proficient, and Dr. Shadid is well-versed. The only reason I didn't give it a complete 5-star is the fact that the facade looks a bit sketch and they the website could use a serious upgrade - it doesn't represent their professionalism. However, that's minutia compared to the service you get.

She has had issues, with wait times for patients, but give this "sweet Gal" a break, she has much improved on that score..in fact it has been totally dealt with. The last 6 months she has been awful! Long waiting time (if I wait less than 45 mins that's a good appointment) to even see her and her office staff is rude and unhelpful. Dr. Shea spends most of her with her nose in a laptop during a visit and seems distracted when I visit. I scheduled an appointment and showed up to a locked door with staff inside. When office personnel opened the door they were VERY rude and unprofessional. "There's no way you have an appointment today we're closed!"( I keep detailed records of all my appointments) There is no way I could have known they were closed and I was treated very poorly. I will not return to Dr. Shea.

And when I do get to the clinic, I am never rushed thru my appointment so the doctor can move on to his next patient. He takes the time to find out everything that is happening in my life, and makes sure all my prescriptions are up to date so I'm never without my medication. I have been a patient of Dr Birdwell for a good number of years, my mother was also a patient of his until she passed away in March 2013. I cannot imagine changing doctors for any reason. Katherine actually listened to me in such a concerned and caring way. When I mentioned I had chest pains a few weeks ago she immediately ordered an EKG.
