Spent our first night locked out of the room because the lock died and the key needed to unlock the door is kept in the managers locked office at night. Spent the second night packing our things in trash bags and driving 5 hours back home after finding bed bugs in our room. Along with this, the room was trashed. All photos below. Went back and forward with guest services and the manager only to get a partial refund and a small amount of points. We had to discard hundreds of dollars in items because they couldn't be properly handled to ensure bed bugs didn't enter our home. The manager advised that someone else came in and checked for bed bugs and didn't find any, so the room was fine. THE BED BUG WE FOUND, KILLED AND TOOK A PHOTO OF WAS LEFT ON THE COUNTER. Probably overlooked like many other things in the hotel. They aren't treating it for bed bugs even with a known case. Don't risk it.

My 20-year-old child was stranded in Peoria, IL due to a cancelled flight. I made a reservation…read morethrough the IHG website and explicitly disclosed that my child was 20 years old. The reservation was accepted as an exception. Upon arrival, the front desk agent, Justin, refused to allow my child to check in. His supervisor, Lynn, stated that Illinois law--or possibly this specific hotel's policy--does not permit a 20-year-old to check in (this was not clearly explained). Within five minutes, we were able to secure a reservation at a nearby, higher-quality hotel, where they simply required a signed waiver, which was not an issue. I would like to see better coordination between IHG and its individual hotels, as there appeared to be no alignment or communication in this case. More importantly, rather than outright refusing a stranded traveler with a confirmed reservation, some problem-solving would have been appropriate. If a waiver solution worked at a nearby hotel, it is reasonable to ask why the same approach could not have been considered here.

When you enter you watch a movie (in a decommissioned machine) and learn about the history of Caterpillar through displays and artifacts like a traditional museum. The best part is when you get to climb into the machines and get to sit inside them. There is a simulator where you can learn how to use and move a scooper. Be sure to get your picture taken next to the big machines. I highly recommend the Caterpillar Visitors Center!

They have binders for every couple getting married and keep every email, conversation, checklist, you name it...in that binder. Last, the chef/caterer, One World....We got SOOOO many compliments on the food at our wedding. The second floor overlooks the seating area and surrounds the dance floor. It seems that they bring the wedding party up so that they can make their grand entrance down some stairs to the head table. The only thing is that they don't utilize the space any more than that, although some of the photographers used it for pictures. The space is right for a smaller size wedding. The staff was quite adept at keeping tidy during service, almost so much so that they almost took away stuff I was still working on. I don't fault them too much on that, they were busting their butts out there. The only thing I didn't like is that sitting at the head table I could see the food carts being rolled in around the DJ table to the kitchen area. I thought that looked kinda weird. Overall we had a really good time and a lot of people got out on the dance floor. That's all that matters.
