I felt like it's usually better but we still liked it a lot. Just seemed like less flavor than normal. The sweet tea this time around was probably a 4.5/10. Wasn't that great. The shrimp came out of a freezer in the back and lacked any discernible shrimp flavor. It was super busy here when we came on Friday night. So busy that we had a hard time flagging our waiter down when we needed something. I order some soft shredded chicken tacos with rice and sour cream on the side. I didn't get my sour cream, so we waited to try and get our waiter's attention. I ate two thirds of one taco while waiting because they didn't drain the shredded chicken very well so my tacos were sitting in a pool of juice and getting soggy. Love, love and love this place. Being from AZ, we have tons of good Mexican restaurants. I was not sure what I would find in this quaint little town. However this is a gem. I went here, multiple times. For actual food, my go to is the chicken chimi. The cheese sauce is yummy and the guacamole is delicious. The chips and salsa are good. However the reason I kept returning was...fried ice cream and flan!! The flan is creamy, I had it with and without chocolate sauce. I prefer with out. Same as the fried ice cream...love them both. It is a family rum business. The older siblings are very nice. I spoke to who I believe is the older brother and sister, so kind. We come here frequently, usually on Thursdays for the 1/2 price margaritas. We both almost always get the small taco salads. I don't think the "smalls" are on the menu, but they still have the shells and serve them. As we have gotten older both our appetites of deminised, so the small is just perfect. My wife likes the small shredded chicken, and I like mine with chorizo. It's delicious. We liked to get there at one or later. That way the lunch crowd and noise has decreased. We came in with a group of 8 and was greeted with a sign "please seat yourself". It's at this point that I realized that service is not their forte'. The food, however, more than made up for the mediocre service. My son ordered the fajitas and I stole a few bites. There were lots of veggies (peppers and onions). I also stole a bite of my husband's chimichanga and it was delicious!! I enjoyed the cheesesteak with corn tortillas instead of flour (because I'm gluten-free. I noticed this place is always packed but I have to say I'm disappointed. The chips were stale to start. There were very small portions of food and the prices were unbelievable. My niece ordered the steak and shrimp. The steak was the tiniest thinnest piece of steak I have seen with a handful of shrimp and it was $18. The street tacos were cold and the steak was tough and cold. One could think maybe they were just busy but this is not the case. We actually got there at an early dinner hour 5:30. They weren't busy at this time. However we were never asked or offered refills and had to go after the waiter a couple times to get extra napkins and such. The service was good and the food was average. Management was weak. We had a coupon for $25 off of a meal but the manager on duty refused to to accept it, even though the owner said that they would. The manager's response was "I am the manager on duty and I will not accept it." I would have a hard time recommending this restaurant.
