One note, Yelp needs to update their records. This church was previously operating out of a rented school building, but they recently merged with an older church that had an existing building but was suffering from declining membership numbers. After the merger, the new church is now known as 'The Bridge Church at Bear Creek' and is operating out of the building that the older church owned. If you live at the Dartmouth Woods apartments across the street, this location is incredibly convenient, as you can attend church right across the street! If I do have one complaint... it would be the way they do communion. It is very old fashioned, with chalices of wine and loaves of bread. I guess some of the older folks probably like that sort of thing, but it seems very odd for a non-denominational church with a very modern style in most other respects. Also, the way people just put their hands right on the bread and rip off chunks of it is a little gross... just wait until flu season comes back around and they will be changing the way they do this for sure!

I'm from out of state and attended Red Rocks Church this past Sunday because I was in town for a…read moreconference. I was immediately greeted by a sweet older man who told me where the entrance to the auditorium was. Pastor Conrad was welcoming and encouraged all guests to meet and greet with him. Uncle Jimmy (Pastor Jimmy Rollins) gave an amazing sermon on giving through the church and ended with a video on Red Rocks Church's many campuses now serving families with children with special needs/disabilities. It featured a video on a girl named Hattie. I was incredibly moved by what this church is doing and being an example of the hands and feet of Jesus. The sermon was on a screen and was live from another campus but I didn't care about that, it was God's message that morning and I received it regardless of how it was delivered. The Worship team encourages you to worship the Lord, not their music. And they shared a new song they wrote. They work hard and serve hard. They are FIRE. From beginning to end, I worshipped (with arms up the whole time), I laughed, I cried, and laughed again, during the sermon. Lastly, when leaving the church, I saw the same elderly man (who greeted me before service) now walking side by side with a blind man, to ensure he got to his car in the parking lot. I encourage anyone to attend this church, you will feel the presence of the Lord. You won't just experience it, you'll see it with your own eyes, just as I did.

As soon as you walk in the door there was an instant sense of Community. Three people within the first minutes were welcoming, excited you are there, which left a feeling of "this is where I want to be". The energetic, live music joyful, the attendees happy. The pastor very charismatic, storytelling explanation teaching The Book of John, from the heart, made you want to learn and know more! Afterward, a chance to sign up for mens/womens groups if you want to fulfill more of the community involvement. Leaving with a sense of 'what a cool place". I am excited to grow with this church, feeling "This is home".

The service started with solid worship music - thus the two starts and not just one. The message was more of story time than anything out of God's word - the service spent more time playing clips from Shawshank Redemption than focusing on what would actually bring life change to an individual. Even when scripture was mentioned the pastor couldn't take time to elaborate on Gods word but made references to "many more scriptures" rather than directing the congregation to those scriptures. Flatiron Church's Pastor should be reminded of Paul's words in Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Remember Pastor, Paul told Timothy to "Preach the Word" - not the movies. Give up the gimmicks and get your congregation back in God's Word. Don't delude your congregation with softball stories that may send some to the gates of hell with a false sense of spiritual identity.

I really liked him a lot. He retired and two senior ministers shared the duties. I went a few times after Dr. Roger left. It's always different when the head minister changes. I've had mostly wonderful experiences there. I took classes, too. This is not the church for evangelical Christians. If you're looking for guilt, fire and brimstone, this is not the church for you. This is about Law of Attraction and welcomes all. You won't hear any specific politics from the pulpit. It's based in love and peace, and honors the earth. Because it's universal, there won't be a lot of Jesus talk except as he was a great teacher who taught love. The few not so great experiences I've had there were based on who was teaching. Just quit and wait for a different teacher. I live an hour away now. Today, we drove down for a labyrinth walk for peace, aligning with groups and churches around the world. It was wonderful. I cried, realizing how much I've missed this place the past five years. I don't know what's going on administratively and frankly, I'm too old to care. Science of Mind feeds my soul, and that's what counts. For those who are naysayers, understand that the pandemic affected everything including attendance. They've adapted as best as they could. Go there if you want a practice. Go there if you understand that we are responsible for our lives. Go there if you're hopeful and want to join a positive community.

It made me feel very welcome the message from Pastor John was rooted in the Word, And included the gospel. The worship music was very good. They were welcoming and it was not difficult to make friends. We joined a Life Group, which was the best thing we did, as we got to know people of our peer group well through bi-weekly studies, fellowship, and prayer time. They honor families and celebrate events together, like baby showers, wedding, funerals, and graduations. On one of the negative reviews here, several comments were made about the pastor, which I do not find to be true at all. We have found him to be well versed in scripture and enjoy his sermons. If you are looking for a small to midsized church where you can get to know the folks, this is a wonderful place to go.

Our family made a lot of friendships here, in addition to deepening our faith. In 1991, a neighbor invited us to the Christmas Concert. There was so much joy and kindness we experienced from the people. The music and programs were spectactular. It was a tiny church back then. Through the years we've have many pastors. Each brought their giftedness. The church grew a lot during the Columbine tragedy, including the youth group that had several hundred members. Over the years, the youthgroup has remained strong. I wish I could be a youngster again, just to go on the trips they take. Even though it's a 'bigger' church there is a strong sense of community. It feels like family. Worship varies in traditional style or a contemporary style, depending on the time of year, and time of worship service. People of all ages will find what they need here. Give us a visit!

They make it very clear that they have been going there forever, almost like bragging rights. The lead Pastor, Todd, is a smart man, however, you almost sense that he is just there to be there and he can't wait to get his sermons done with. As a child, I remember going to church where the a Pastor and his family went out of their way to get to know the congregation and welcome new people, that is not the case here. The Pastors wife barely says boo to anyone and you just dont get that warm feeling from either one of them. There a couple nice elders, but thats about it. The only thing about this church that I can say is great, is the high school youth services and the childrens department. However, with a decreasing number of church members, it is going to be hard for your children yo make new connections because the numbers are so low. Also, another thing.that is good, this church does offer the best VBS in the area. So I would highly recommend sending your children to their VBS program and high school youth group. But other than that, I would shop around before making this your church home. The employees and leadership there just not good.
