This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at! The room was super clean had enough towels and bedding without having to call the front deck! The pull out couch was even super nice. They cleaned our room every afternoon (which in our experience ins post 2020 world is not the norm). Everyone that worked there was so friendly! We brought two dogs that got all of the love from them! Also dog stay free I have never seen that (we travel often with our dogs 23 states our dogs have been too) normal it's an extra $30 pre night! It's in the heart of a very nice very safe town! You can walk to the grocery store, Walgreens, stewards, and a sub shop! read more

SO and I arrived last night at 9:30p - Girl at Front Desk was friendly and efficient with the check-in process. We get the keys for our room, head around the corner, walk in... and are blasted with the odor of stale cigarette smoke. Ironically, I definitely *just* signed a paper acknowledging this is a non-smoking room soooooooo... yeah, what's up with that? SO went to ask GaFD about swapping rooms - she offered a 2x Queen room, and a can of Lysol in case we feel the need to use it for deodorant purposes, but otherwise they're booked solid due to some major soccer championship game this weekend or something. We opened the windows to air it out a bit and ultimately opted to stay bc it seemed like it was freshening up a bit. She did call the room after and comp'd some $ off the total price, which was nice and not something she *had* to do, but was quite appreciated. (I also acknowledged that it wasn't directly HER doing, and that she could only do so much at the given time, so we didn't blame her or anything.) The king mattress was... wildly uncomfortable. If you have any back, joint, or mobility problems, this will not be a great night's sleep for you. The pillows are in cases stating "soft" "firm" etc, but they were not put on the right pillows from the get-go - minor, but still a thing. Our room was on the 1st floor, and we could hear the creaking of people in the room above us walking around day and night, yet even though our room is relatively close to the lobby, we didn't hear anything there or in the hallway. We went out for breakfast and when we came back, the smoke odor seemed worse than last night. I'd consider that flat-out unacceptable, especially for a "non-smoking establishment". Housekeeping: How can you NOT smell this, OR, how can you smell this and not DO MORE about it? I understand that rules can be set, that people will do what they want, but a hotel should definitely be able to anticipate this and have measures to counter people's crappy behaviors and habits. THIS IS NOT OKAY. I'd consider this a generally safe area, and the lights work, the outlets work, there's no bugs/creep crawlies seen, and there's locks for the doors and windows (impt for 1st floor rooms) - also I DO appreciate that 1/2 the room has laminate flooring vs total carpet - but... those are pretty basic requirements. Based on our experience this weekend, I'd recommend this as a place to stay for someone who needs a room in a serious pinch... but definitely DON'T choose this place as your first go-to option. read more

I stayed at the Malone Red Roof Plus & Suites on three separate occasions. Each and every time, I was amazed at the cleanliness of the room and helpfulness of the staff. I've stayed at some pretty nice hotels, and I was truly impressed with everything here. Breakfast isn't anything spectacular, but I was able to find fresh fruit, yogurt, and toast...not bad for free! Further, they offer coffee and tea 24 hours per day. A Price Chopper is also directly across the street, and it's also very close to an ALDI and Wal-Mart, so food options are plentiful. The fitness room is also a nice feature; dumbbells, a treadmill, exercise bike, and elliptical machine are the only pieces of equipment, but there was never a time that I encountered anyone else in here...it was always clean and quiet. In addition, the hotel is located in a residential area, so there are plenty of sidewalks for running/walking. Overall, I would highly, highly, recommend this place to anyone who has a need to visit Malone. read more

One of the most important things for me is cleanliness when I stay in a hotel. This place deserves a 10 star for that alone. This hotel's rooms are very nicely appointed. Comfortable beds. Large tv. Mini refrigerator and microwave. Coffee maker. Bowl sink in the bathroom which is functional and modern. There's a laundry that has 1 washer and 2 dryers which was great. The front desk has quarters and each machine costs $1.50 per load. We stayed a week and we had to wash clothes. Detergent is available in a machine or you can run to Price Chopper across the street. They have ample choices for breakfast. No bacon and sausage but they have a waffle maker, assorted pastries, English muffins, bagels and bread for toasting with butter, jellies and peanut butter. They offer hard boiled eggs, yogurt and milk. Plenty of cereal choices are available including oatmeal. Hot beverages of coffee, tea and cocoa are offered and cold juices and flavored water. This area and the dining area are well kept as well. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Last but not least, our very friendly dog was welcome. We will stay here again when visiting family.0 read more

We read that this motel was award winning, but it was so much cheaper than the other options that I had trepidations. Upon arrival, the staff was on the phone at the desk, and I wandered around the lobby, finding the wall of awards. This is an inexpensive place that does what they do very well. I was particularly impressed that they provided re-usable plastic plates, stainless steel silverware, and ceramic coffee mugs, as well as trays, at the breakfast area. This means less plastic waste in landfills and I'm all for it! Also, the towels are thick - not what I expect on such a budget. They exceeded my expectations for sure! read more

If for some inexplicable reason you're in Malone, NY, then you'll want to stay here. Way above the normal Red Roof quality. Excellent air-conditioning, reasonably comfortable bed, clean rooms, friendly staff, generously outfitted hotel breakfast setup, and good quality fitness room. read more

Nice place would stay again. Full sized shower/tub, great Wi-Fi without problems & 24 hours a day coffee in the lobby. Also has a limited continental breakfast, breads, cereals & waffles. No bagels or rolls. The TV in the room is at a perfect level and they even have a microwave in the room which comes in handy to warm things up. Lastly there is a decent small fridge in the room. In all it was a good stay for a while and would stay again. read more

I've stayed there a few times now and had great experiences every time. The rooms were clean and appropriately stocked with the standard towels, soaps, shampoos and paper products. Wi-Fi is free and very good. Flat screen TVs were sized perfectly for the room and put on swivel arms which made viewing nice. Coffee pot, fridge, alarm clock, iron, ironing board and hair dryer in every room. A continental breakfast is offered daily. Make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, eggs, juices, milk, etc. Coffee round the clock. A workout room that has a treadmill, an elliptical, a recumbent bicycle, a weight bench and barbells in a wide range of weights. And icing on the cake during all of my visits was the staff! Every single person that works there is eager to please and so accommodating! This is definitely my go to place when I stay in Malone. read more

Upon our stay in December, my husband went to use a pillow and found dried blood on it. When we brought it to the front desk the woman didn't seem to care. She didn't offer a discount, fresh linen, or even an apology. A tiny hair is one thing but finding someone else's blood is absolutely unacceptable. You don't know where it came from or who.
