I don't want to name my particular stylist as she really did do a good job on the haircut, but there was a major issue that will prevent me from coming back. I just want to bring it up to management so that there is better protocol.  My stylist used the same hairbrush on me as she used on the client before me, only removing hair from it. Why didn't I say anything? Because you don't complain to someone with scissors who is about to cut your hair, and when you need the cut badly, there's no walking out. There were no Barbicide containers at her station or any other station. It was a full house of stylists while I was there, and I didn't see cleaning solutions at any station.  I liked my stylist and her work, but the sanitation practices were not such that I would return. I hope this feedback can institute some standard practices, as it is a health and safety issue that affects all clients. If the majority of salons in Nashville don't already use and implement Barbicide and sterilization practices, they need to. Salon Galleria is not alone in falling short, but they still need to address it.

Since April when we began the process I was told by Halloween I'd have pink, purple, blue, teal in my hair. This stylist is a level 3 or whatever which you pay a premium for in itself. I spent well over $2000 dollars with her only to ever make it to dark purple with her repeatedly telling me that she couldn't get me lightened or do anything but purple. She insisted my hair will never lighten and will fall out if she tries again. So I agreed to let her cut 3"-4" MAXIMUM off my hair and to do some layers to make my hair a little less thick. She took 8" off my hair and my layers look like a staircase. I literally looked like I had bangs going 360 degrees around my head. I was so upset I went home and cried. I didn't even realize how much she cut off since my hair was curled at the time so it always looks shorter until i washed it and saw it dried naturally. I booked an appointment with a stylist at a different salon for the following month just hoping my hair would grow out and she would be able to fix the color. This stylist confirmed that the haircut was bizarre and not remotely what I had asked for. But furthermore she expressed concern mentioning that I had a brown band around my head of color (where I couldn't see) and blueish roots and that my hair looked to be 4-5 different shades of purple in an unnatural way that doesn't at all look intentional. I spent over $400 and 6.5 hours in her chair to do a color correction and to get my hair exactly where I had just been told it couldn't reach by the stylist at double image. My new stylist told me "I don't know why she said your hair wasn't lifting its lifting easily and healthily and I'll be able to do all of these colors today" The longer I sat there and watched her easily go what I had just paid $2000 and spent 6 months being told couldn't be done I realized either the stylist was scamming me for money and dragging out the appointments or that she is dishonest about her skill level. Either way it's now cost me $2500 and numerous 6 hour appointments to have hair that I should have had months ago. I called the owners of double image to ask for bare minimum a refund of my last visit since I had spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars of unnecessary money AND had my hair cut when it didn't need to be AND even when it was cut more than double what was discussed was removed. And the owner didn't care. In the fakest tone I've ever heard she says well it sounds like you found a stylist you like and I'm so happy for you. Sorry for what happened but I can't refund you because my policy won't allow it since it's been a month. I said you're the owner you wrote the policy and I only left knowing I had a horrid haircut. I didn't find out how messed up the color was until my new stylist had to fix it or I would have reached out sooner. Messing up a hair cut is drastically different from having someone pay hundreds of dollars they didn't need to pay and not needing the haircut at all. She just kept talking over me and did not care.
