Angie, the owner was an amazing hostess. The manor was clean, quaint, and inviting. Our room was quite big with its own nice sized bathroom. With as busy as our life can be my husband and I desired a peaceful-personalized setting. It can also be very romantic. Breakfast is beautifully prepare for you daily. Just minutes away you'll find all sorts of exciting and fun things to do during the day/night. Great for couples and or may be a girls weekend. I know if we are back in this area again, we will be staying at the Walton Manor Inn.

Whatever your destination, it's all within driving distance from the Inn. My wife and I arrive to the Walton Manor Inn at exactly at 4pm, check in time. Angie greeted us upon arrival and gave a brief tour of the downstairs, where the coffee machine is located is a biggie for me. I'm an early riser, at any B&B, I like to make a cuppa coffee and settle into a comfy sofa while my wife sleeps. Angie showed us upstairs to our room. Walking in, it was a very large space for just the two of us. I see in the shower there is community shampoo and conditioner. That's a little off for me, other B&Bs offer upscale products, some even have their branding on the products. There was no closet, within the bathroom was a makeshift closet. I'm look at the rug in the room, there is some type of hair, I'm not going to say cat hair but the rug needed to be vacuumed before we arrived. There was a mini fridge with frozen water bottles for the guests. The bedding was fine, the mattress and pillow were comfortable. The sheets and comforter were not, it wasn't what I would have expected at a B&B. There is a private lot for guests, it's behind the inn. Once checked in, you can enter the inn from the back door using the same code as the front door. Now that we spoke about the Bed, Lets talk about the Breakfast. When you go to any B&B, there's a litte menu asking what you'd like for breakfast. Angie asked us for a time on Sunday morning we'd like to dine. I told her we need to get on the road early so the first possible time. We're told the first seating is at 9am? The atrium where we sat down for breakfast was very pretty. Lots of large windows and sunlight. The breakfast choice is what was served. No choices of pancakes or eggs, bacon or sausage. We are in Amish country. During our stay, I picked up a smoked ham as well as amish bacon. For breakfast we were served frozen Jones sausage links. Again, the quality of any B&B should be in the details. We didn't received anything that was step above during our stay. I was able to ask about the house and how Angie came to own it. The house was built in 1911 and went through a major reconstruction to become the Inn it is today. Overall, the Walton Manor Inn Bed & Breakfast was a beautiful home but our stay was simply adequate.

They always held a high standard, but after staying here for 3 nights and 4 days, I would be ashamed to put my name attached to this hotel. We hardly stood in our room from Monday-Wednesday except to sleep, we spent the days at HersheyPark, when we arrived Sunday we did spend that late afternoon and evening at the hotel. I called a few days before arriving to make sure there pool, gym and continental breakfast is being served and open. I was told yes to all my questions. Sunday my granddaughter wanted to use the pool, we were the only ones in the pool, water was so cloudy, and around the whole outside of the pool was globs of hair everywhere. The gym was closed, they stated they had to close it 3 days earlier do to some kids that broke the glass into the gym. Which means they lied to me when I called asking if it was open, and you got it, they had no continental breakfast which was told they were serving. I was even specific when I asked ,if it's hot items being served. What they served us was a brown bag each, which had a small apple, small granola bar, muffin and one bottle of warm water. They did have complimentary coffee 24 hrs a day. We had a late check out on Wednesday which was for 12:30pm instead of 11am. And the guy from the front desk just walked in our room at 12pm without knocking and some of us weren't fully dressed as he walked in. Really WTF, happened to knocking. So I would not recommend this hotel, Even if it was free.

It had always been a good value in the past compared to the other hotels in the area. However, the rooms and service are not what they used to be. We booked a room for four people, but we got towels for 3. They don't clean rooms during your stay anymore, and I wonder if they clean rooms between each guest. They have maids cleaning rooms for hours and hours on our floor, but there were crumbs in practically all the corners of the room and stains on the linens, windows, and shower curtains. You could feel the springs on the pull out couch. We had to blaring in extra blankets to soften it up. On the plus side, the air conditioning worked like a charm. The hot breakfast advertised was not available "due to the pandemic", so they provided a bag breakfast with a Costco granola bar, a water, an apple, and a chocolate chip cookie. You could choose from an assortment of donuts without a utensil to pick it up with and yogurt that was not on ice or in a refrigerator. The view was decent, saw a great sunset from our window.

A lot of stuff just doesn't work. Telephones didn't work the previous time I was there, in the spring, and they said they were working on them. This time they weren't working either. It was a small issue: There was no do-not-disturb sign. But I know this hotel to be aggressive about banging on people's doors to do housekeeping without it, so I had to make a trip to the desk (not that I imagine they'd have wanted to bother bringing it to me) to get it, when I had gotten in late and really wanted to sleep. Also, at breakfast, there was no provision for the fact that they were mobbed at the waffle station. One had to stand there waiting to guard a place in line or others would come along and think no one was waiting. If this is common, and I bet it is, they should have a "take a number" system. And then after a very long wait (because people had inserted themselves ahead of me while I was sitting politely nearby waiting), I found they did not have sugar-free syrup for the waffles. I am sugar-sensitive, so when the person suggested caramel instead, I think there was a serious lack of understanding of how important this item is. I already can't have a lot of the items on the buffet because of sugar, but waffles turn out to be one of the things I can have, so to be out of that is a bigger deal to me than you might imagine. And then, even with people there obviously still eating and going through the line, they were disassembling the buffet at the precise end of the range. There was someone still cooking a waffle who had to get syrup off of the cart they were about to roll away. That is ugly and not something I recognize as any kind of care for those present, especially since poor capacity planning is why a lot of people were still having to be getting food at that point. Also, and it's a weird detail, but there's a sign in the elevator that talks about noise at certain hours, but the elevator itself is probably the noisiest thing in the area. It pings VERY loudly in those quiet times.

When I asked why I was told that they had overbooked the hotel for that night. I told the person who called me that I already paid for the room and the only response I got was, "Sorry about that". I was told that since I already paid that they would issue me a refund, which I have never received. I try to call any number associated with the hotel and it is disconnected. I then contacted Choice Hotels who oversee them. The representative from Choice attempted to call and said something must be wrong with their phones. I traveled with my family expecting comfortable conditions to spend the night, but we received anything but. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted with a mildewy, musty stench that only got stronger when we got to our room. Towels smelled sour and there was hair on some of them. The bedding included specks and stains of foreign substances which were too vulgar to include in the below pictures. If you want air circulation in your hallway, don't come to this place. Housekeepers don't know how to turn on the AC nor clean the room. Breakfast was limited but edible. Lights were flickering throughout the building. The pool and fitness center were no better. Water remained dripping from the overhead pipes into the pool full of foreign debris, which may explain the yellow tint in the water they expect guests to enjoy swimming in. The fitness center included a dysfunctional treadmill and grimy windows, with one machine that worked decently. Yet the moldy, stuffy air remained throughout the hotel, so don't expect to feel refreshed until you step outside to get natural ventilation. Until this hotel steps up their standards and quality, look for another hotel if you want even a subpar experience.
