The guests weren't informed that handicap parking even existed -- and apparently the only TWO handicap spaces for the entire venue were taken by the parents, leaving an older guest with a cane to climb a set of uneven concrete stairs. Aside from the main room we were in, the rest of the house was poorly lit (I guess they were going for a moody vibe), and while the bathrooms were clean, the bar area was inexplicably small for the size of the event. It felt like the space was built for old timey photos, not functionality. Most memorable (not in a good way) was the venue's primary point of contact for the evening -- the coordinator who was managing the reception timeline and vendor interactions. Her demeanor toward guests vs. vendors was shockingly different, and it was my understanding that most of the vendors were arranged by the bridal party - not the venue - so one would assume she would be more welcoming, or at least collaborative. She made it clear, without saying a word, that she would have rather been anywhere else. Everything seemed done in a huff and a haste. Watching her try to "manage" anything was almost painful - she seemed irritated, unaware, and annoyed in equal measure. Shooting daggers at other people is completely inappropriate, but you couldn't help but notice how off her vibes were. If that was her best foot forward, I truly shudder to imagine what a bad day looks like. This is a reminder to everyone that when you are responsible for any event, all eyes are on you - even when you do not think they are. A wedding venue and its staff should be able to execute hospitality, logistics, and basic human decency simultaneously. Instead, we got a coordinator whose energy was like Jekyll and Hyde - the bride and groom got one personality and everyone else got the other. For a place designed to host life's most joyful milestones, it was baffling how joyless and, quite frankly, apathetic, the venue staff seemed to be. May be time to find another line of work. The photographer was a bit of an odd guy, but not unkind, and the caterer and bartender were both lovely and as helpful as they could be, so not all was lost, but they surely had no affiliation with the venue. They at least know how to remain professional with an audience. This place may photograph well, but kindness, competence, and hospitality cannot be Photoshopped in. I left feeling bad for the couple who trusted this venue with such an important day, and I would strongly urge future couples to look elsewhere. It seems like this place is just trying to make a buck in the easiest way possible. Weddings deserve warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism -- and we unfortunately experienced the exact opposite here.

We had to make several phone calls to get the codes to access the building and room. This was just the first of many problems we encountered. The rooms were nice, but the service was terrible. We paid for a hot breakfast every morning, which was advertised when we booked. This was not the case when we arrived. No hot breakfast at all. Just cold lunch meat,hard boiled eggs, toast if you wanted to fix it yourself, instant oatmeal in a packet, over ripped bananas, and strawberries. This is not the hot breakfast that we paid for. I contacted the management company that operates the B&B and was told they stopped the hot breakfast two weeks before we arrived. I ask why we weren't informed about this. I was told they couldn't notified everyone that had reservations, over four hundred. I told them we would like to have a partial refund because they didn't give us what was advertised, and we paid for. As of today, they still list a hot breakfast on most of the travel websites. They didn't offer any refund. They said to review the cancellation policy. I then said we would have cancelled our entire stay if we had known this before we left home. Still no offer to at least a partial refund. We had to go to a restaurant and get our breakfast every day, and that was an extra expense. As of today, after several back and forth emails, still no offer of any kind of refund. As far as the service part of our stay. We had to ask every day for clean towels, wouldn't take the dirty ones, or empty the trash during our entire stay. I told the management company this is not a good way to run a business. I don't think they care at all about how they treat the people that rent at this B&B. I would never book this place again. I hope people read this review and avoid this property.

First of all check in is not until 3pm. There is no way you can bring your vehicle in here, back in, park and launch without disturbing people who are sleeping. You canot come in here that early and disturb our guests period. I am not going to argue this point. You should have told us this up front instead of now. Finding it was difficult even with the GPS, but they do provide instructions on their website. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and our room was ready. It wasn't large, and the level of amenities isn't the same as a Hilton Hotel, but you come here for clean rooms and lots of trains... and this place had both. They have a large deck overlooking the railroad bridge, and a mock-railroad dispatcher board inside and outside that shows you in real time where the trains are. Within the first 20 minutes of arriving we saw three trains, and by the third I didn't even bother to pull out my camera. It was like that all weekend. If you are awake you can hear (and feel the trains), but none woke me up in the night so their noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was french toast and sausage one morning, and pancakes and sausage the next day. They were good. Free bottled water and some cereal and other things are available, and they have a fridge for guests to put food in. There were dozens of train books and magazines to read when you weren't talking with other railfan guests or watching trains. Keith, the owner, was pleasant and knowledgeable about the trains. Sadly, it rained heavily the Friday and Saturday nights we stay (we were away during the day), and it was cloudy the rest of the time. Thus, a lot of my pictures were gray and it was too dark, wet, or cold to sit out on the porch for most of the time. That isn't the fault of the BNB though. It is a train-watchers paradise. Next time I come, I will plan to just sit inside all the time and watch trains!

The rooms are so comfy and spotless. Thea hosts are amazing kind and thoughtful. You get so many free extras that is normally unheard of. On top of the yummiest breakfast you will ever eat, they give free desserts all day and soda,water and wine ! The views here are to die for. I loved all the animals I got to see the beautiful horses grazing and the precious sweet kittens. Truly this place exceeded all of my expectations they go above and beyond and all the workers show great pride in their work and it shows. When we arrived the host took us to our room (no locks on the doors) and showed us our bathroom which was a separate room (we had to leave our room to use the bathroom). The bathroom light was not working and not enough towels. The host told us they would fix the light and then she went to another room and grabbed towels for us. The first time I took a shower I found a dirty hand towel hanging on the shower knob. So, I'm sure the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was one dresser in our room, and all the drawers were full of personal junk, there was no place to put our clothes other than a hanger that was hanging on the wall. A microwave that didn't work and a small fridge that had ice build-up and needed cleaned were in our room. The downstairs was worse, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the mansion was built, so bad that we would not sit in the living room or spend any time in the lower level. The day we left we walked around the property, and the place is overgrown with weeds. And on top of all this the host has accused us of stealing two of the nasty towels and breaking a defective window blind that was in our room. I guess they need the extra money to fix this place. We were very disappointed and do not recommend this place.
