I tried to consign to them, and found them to be picky and condescending. Out of several pairs of slightly worn designer shoes, in a popular size, no less, (items comparable to what I see they usually have for sale), they were only interested in one of my pairs and told me that wasn't "worth" opening up an account for me. Damn. a mean girls' club! and how much could I expect to make if they found my stuff "worthwhile"? the laws of economics tell me ..not anywhere near fair market value. I learned several important lessons from that experience. I used to enjoy shopping there and I am rethinking ever going back because 1) I felt dissed with the last incident and left a bad taste in my mouth. 2) Since the prices rival what you pay for most if their items new, why not go to a retail store where you are likely to spend just as much money and Where you have more variety in choices and sizes. 3) If you are on a budget, go to real non profit thrift shops-or buy less in new stores. and, What to do with all that stuff you bought in places like this on impulse? donate to Goodwill rather than deal with them. your time, energy and peace of mind is worth more.

I bought 2 pairs of jeans thinking they would fit. They didn't, I was told I could return them if they didn't. I returned to the store a couple days later with my receipt and the original price tags in hand. They told me because I cut off the little plastic thing that holds the tags on was cut off they would not give me credit or let me return the items. Really? Best yet, these labels show not only the standard quality grades but also other important details. As I walked in they were just putting out a large batch of immaculate Japanese pressings of 70s and 80s rock and jazz recordings, all in NM condition complete with obi bands. As I'm primarily interested in sound quality, I was truly in heaven. And it gets better... I was able to audition all my potential purchases on their quite decent system, all of which I bought, and they sound flawless on my very high resolution system. Note: the prices marked seemed very fair (Japanese imports in NM condition are normally very pricey) but I my case they discounted the price considerably because I bought three albums.

Alcove supported me and my boys with love and kindness. We were separated into groups according to age of children and then parents are separate. At that time, Alcove primarily used art therapy as a way of helping children heal from their trauma. Art therapy accesses the same part of your brain used while dreaming.
