Just stop by on a whim for the first time this past week. Absolutely nothing wrong with the place. It has an eclectic feel about it. It has a clothes boutique, which Melissa Gilbert would absolutely adore. The complete little house on the Prairie vibe. But I did not see past that. It appeared as if they were under construction maybe making some improvements or expansions. Being under construction, I couldn't make sense where the entrance was or not. My experience here was a little odd. We were headed to High Shoals for a hike. Prior to the trip, I had done a little research and found that Redbone Willy's was conveniently on the way. I decided to add it to our itinerary and stop there first so we could pick up food/snacks that we could enjoy after the hike for lunch. We walked in and ordered in the food area which was great. The staff was very friendly and made plenty of suggestions. As we waited for our food, we walked around the store. You name it, they got it. Lots of clothes and accessories. As my friend shopped, I took three pics from my phone to load on to Yelp until the employee in the clothes section told me I needed to delete the photos and that it was not allowed. She was rude and condescending. In 2023, the year of social media apps and influencers I found it very strange that a small business would not appreciate the attention but in either case, I immediately apologized and told her I was just updating the business/adding photos on Yelp and that I was also going to add to my IG stories but not too worry, I would delete the three photos. Immediately, her rude demeanor changed and she asked me to please take the photos and do whatever I needed to do. At this point weirdo...it's too late. I'm not re-taking photos, I'm not adding to my IG and Yelp will not get any updates. I kept the outside photos to add to my review and those that I took in the food area that I had previously taken where the ladies were kind. My friend wanted to buy a hat here and a few other items (suuuuuper expensive) and I discouraged her from the purchase. I was turned off by the whole experience and did not feel as if they deserved our business. For the ladies handling our lunch, the three stars are all for you. read more

Cute little spot with really helpful service, variety of food and ice cream and country store.

Oh my goodness I love this place. It has really transformed over the years into such a cute boutique. If you or one of your kids is into steam punk, this is the place to be. They have all of the coolest hats I've ever seen. Some of them are really expensive but all are crafted beautifully. Wander through the aisles and find clothing that you won't see on yourself anywhere else, jewelry that's handmade, and some housewares. They also have a yummy little café where you can get sandwiches and ice cream. They also sponsor a gypsy festival that we came to a couple of weeks ago that is really fun and very well attended. Started out getting a milkshake that was listed for 5.95...bit ended up costing 7.95. $16.00 for 2 milkshakes! Got charged 7.95 for the first one...noticed the price and asked for the 5.95 milkshakes. I was told that they were already starting the 7.95 milkshakes and that they couldn't change to the cheaper option. It was very unprofessional. And very deceptive. Also, they had awful customer service. These employees had no desire to help the customer and give them what they want. I also went into this store with my white 9-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. My daughter is half Indian. The store associate asked my daughter (not my son) Where is your dad? My 5-year-old daughter answered "he's nowhere to be found" I overheard the employee asking about her father (who is in jail for domestic abuse of me) and promptly asked my daughter what the employee said. The employee said she didn't say anything. Whereas I had overheard it. It was very unprofessional and very unwarranted. The clothes in this store are severely overpriced. Like 79.99 for a pair of leggings. This is no exaggeration. Their clothes are very overpriced for what you get. I asked about any coupons...they told me that I could get 5% off my purchase if I tagged them on Instagram. Luckily my purchase was 34.99, one of the cheaper items in this overpriced store. I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service and the racism shown toward my precious, innocent 5-year-old little girl. She's trying to forget that she watched her dad kill her mom, and yet an employee asks "wheres your dad?" I will not go here again. The staff is rude and unprofessional. Pure pretentiousness in every form Food is ok but figuring out how to get it is not easy. No paper menus, no easy access for older folks. Which door do you use? Too much STUFF everywhere. Always in someone's way. Not welcoming. Over the top goat bungle. The staff was less than friendly and not too eager to help. Beautiful clothing but too claustrophobic to enjoy. We had two sandwiches off the vegetarian menu, two tomato soups and pasta salad. We didn't think any of it was good. The sandwiches were very greasy and just didn't seem very fresh. I'm sorry but it was all inedible for me. My husband ate half his sandwich after picking off the old wilted lettuce and left the rest. $28 for it too! Way overpriced. Cute place. I like their assortment of stuff and candies. The ice cream and baked goods we didn't try but we would if we visited again. I wish I had better things to say, but we were starving after hiking at South Mountain and this late lunch was a big disappointment for us. read more

Very cute little shop. The sandwiches are amazing! The bread was toasted perfectly and the toppings were fresh. You have to try the homemade ice cream! It was worth re-gaining all of the calories I had just worked off hiking. They also have a huge selection of clothing ranging from outdoor to fitness to boutique fashions. The homemade chocolates and cake looked delicious but I didn't have a chance to sample them. read more

y husband and I were on one of our "adventures" and happened upon this cute shop on our way to the mountains. The vibe of the store is boho/steampunk/rustic/chic. A walk through the shop is an experience in itself; inhaling the soothing aroma and soaking up the relaxing vibe definitely put me in a vacation state-of-mind. I ended up purchasing a dress and a pair of pants. There wasn't a big selection of larger clothing sizes, which was disappointing because I would have bought a lot more. The attire is pricey, but the quality seems good and the look is like none-other-around. I have received many compliments on both items I purchased, they are comfy and unique. Needless to say, I look forward to my next visit, it is worth driving a few hours to get there! The food at their little café was a pleasant surprise! We had fresh tomato sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, and tomato/basil soup-all of it was DELICIOUS! It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed eating alfresco on the cute porch. This is an absolute must stop eat and shop! A slice of paradise -The sandwiches are amazing. All made on home made sourdough bread many vegan choices, best pimento cheese around. Homemade ice cream and harvest moon cake is to die for. We hit this place 3 times while visiting south Mt. We stayed in the De Starte B&B while our kids camped at South Mt. The property is amazing and you can walk to the store and cafe with the most unique clothes - enjoyed 2 great hikes and waterfalls at South Mountain- Glenda the owner is doing what she loves - makes you feel right at home - the breakfast of sour dough French toast and sausage set us up perfectly for our hikes. Staff is extremely warm and friendly! They offer quick fair priced food and ice cream, along with country knick knacks and novelty items. They also offer very expensive clothing. I was looking for a T-shirt and found one I liked priced at $140. Needless to say I passed. Will return just because the food is good and staff is wonderful!! read more

REDBONE WILLIES!!! lemme tell ya, its the most authentic, culturally diverse trading post ive been to since my days in Vietnam. Not only is it warm and inviting, but its a great place to enter as a stranger and leave as a friend. So i was driving down the street towards south mountain when my friends got out of the car and made the bad choice to jump in a water fall in January!!! Crazy right?!?!? well we went ahead with our crazy plan and once we got out we realized; this probably wasnt the best choice. So we hopped in the good ole suburbia and started trecking along back towards gooooooooooooood ole charlotte. We passed Redbone Willies and just COULD NOT pass up the opportunity!!!!! we went in and all we found were beautiful handmade gifts ranging from lucious soaps to confederate flag apparel.
