Peaceful, informed, prepared, empowered, minimal intervention, fear-free, joyful... birth as it was meant to be. My birth at the Shasta Midwives birth center was the best day of my life. Restored my faith in myself as a strong capable mother. The midwives protected our family space, carefully monitored our safety, and trusted my mothers instincts...and there was not one instant where I did not like or felt out of control with what was happening. If you desire an out of hospital birth you cannot get better. thank you Sue

I was so lucky to find Sue after my family and I relocated to Shasta when I was 37 weeks pregnant. From the very beginning my interactions with Sue and her team were always positive and full of learning. Sue has such a kind way of explaining everything there is to know about birthing and answering all questions in a non-judgmental and knowledgeable manner --she's also extremely funny which made all of our visits a delight. Such a profound honor it is to be stepping from maiden into the birthright that is Mother and it's a real privilege to be cared for by a strong, kind, and powerful women. I am deeply grateful to Sue Wolcott and her assistants for holding patience and positivity during my long labor. They drove during a blizzard, had little sleep and despite it all showed love and compassion all the way through. From a deep place in my heart words cannot explain the gratitude that I have even more than these words can express for these three women. Sue and her team provided excellent, personalized care that every wombyn needs during such a delicate time. She trusts your body to do what it was meant to do and works as your advocate throughout the whole process - including the post-partum period. As I said earlier on, I couldn't be more grateful and happy with my experience and strongly recommend Sue's services to everyone. I do intend to return to this center for my second birth. Holy Ix Chel Mother of all pray for us now and at the hour of our trials.

Your body, your choice? Not at Selah Health. I was a…read morepatient over a decade and went with a midwife for my prenatal care after being told that I would have to wait until my second trimester and at that time would have to sign a document committing to only seeing Selah Health for all of my prenatal care prior to even being able to see Dr. Kang to discuss all my options for prenatal care. I had my baby at a birthing center and after being discharged I and my midwife went to Mercy Hospital to see the on-call OBGYN for suturing. I was told by that OBGYN, who happened to work at Selah Health, to follow up if I had symptoms after suture placement, which I did. I called Selah Health and they refused to schedule me, informing me that I was under the care of my midwife for the first 6 weeks postpartum and to make an exception, I'd have to have a referral from my primary care provider. I went to my primary care provider and had them send a referral noting the symptoms I was having that I was told by the on-call OBGYN to follow up on if I was having. I then received a call from Selah Health informing me that they declined my referral. I then had to wait until the 6 weeks postpartum period was over to schedule an appt. I was able to schedule with the on-call OBGYN that I had seen at Mercy Hospital and had to wait an additional 6 weeks for her to be back in the office to see her. The day before my appt. I received a text message alerting me to complete intake online paperwork in preparation for this appt. At the end of the day I then received a call alerting me that the person who scheduled me had made a mistake and I was actually dismissed from the practice. I tried to access my online account and it was gone. Since I had blocked my schedule for this appt. I decided to still go to Selah Health the following morning to talk to someone in hopes to still be seen. They still refused to see me. I was told that their malpractice insurance carrier told them they don't have to see me. I have heard this happen to other women who were patients of record that ended up using a midwife for their prenatal care. Instead of seeing us, they are telling us to go to another OBGYN/gynecology office, even though they manage our gynecological care. I was not alerted ahead of time that this would be the outcome of using a midwife. I also was dismissed the day before my appt. without any letter notifying me of this decision. This is considered medical abandonment. I feel that I'm being punished for using a midwife. I do not feel like they care for my wellbeing and sadly I do not recommend their services.

When it flares up, it's generally a dull, persistent pain, that occasional sharpens with excessive movement and exercise. Sitting at an office job and trying to continue running only made things worse. After overdoing a run several months ago, the pain intensified to the point where I was limping after sitting and experienced burning and numbness down my leg. Rest, massages, and taking time off from workouts didn't resolve it. A neighbor referred me to Dr. Cosh, and I'm so grateful. I filled out the new patient forms on her website and received a call back within a business day. Her staff is responsive and efficient with scheduling. They were booked out a bit but added me to a cancellation list and I was seen shortly after my initial inquiry. Dr. Cosh was thorough and attentive in her evaluation, she suspected the issue in my hip was likely muscular and provided practical stretches and foam rolling exercises to do at home. She also recommended weekly massage therapy following the chiropractic adjustments. I was scheduled with Jonah for massage, and he is absolutely incredible. With the combination of adjustments, massage therapy, and stretches, my pain was cut in half within the first week. I'm noticing continued progress with each visit and relief in areas I didn't even realize were contributing to my discomfort. I'm incredibly grateful for Dr. Cosh, Jonah, and the rest of the team. Their knowledge and care are truly unmatched.

Unfortunately for Cosh Chiropractic their receptionist Michelle was highly unprofessional and had a very rude demeanor that directly reflected the company's professionalism and culture. We are highly disappointed in our visit to Cosh and will not be returning or referring to others. My Husband and I are both Doctors and we also have a very big close-knit family as well as own multiple successful businesses in the Redding area, which is unfortunate for Cosh because due to Michelle's unprofessionalism, they will be missing out on many referrals to their office. One star was given but definitely not deserved!
