I would have given a rating of zero, but one star is the minimum allowed…read more My personal doctor sent Dr. Stratte a referral because I am having internal bleeding and abdominal pain. But, my doctor said not to get my hopes up about getting an appointment with Dr. Stratte, as Dr. Stratte and his fellow urologist at Redding Urologic Associates are very selective in who they will see. My doctor said they even refused to see a patient that was suffering from pancreatic cancer. How right my doctor was. On the Redding Urologic Associates website they claim they will respond within two weeks after receiving a referral. I waited for three weeks with no response, so I called their office. My telephone call got me connected to their answering machine. The machine said to leave a message and a response would happen within two business days. I waited three days, but there was no return call. So, I called again, and had to leave another message. Again after three days there was no response. Finally, one month after my referral, I went to their office and spoke with the receptionist. She said that Dr. Stratte had reviewed my referral and decided to decline to see me--three weeks after receiving the referral. They did not even have the common courtesy of calling me to inform me of the doctor's decision. My recommendation would be to skip Dr. Stratte and the Redding Urologic Associates. Do your own research to find a urologist in another city that will accept new patients. Have your personal doctor send a referral to that doctor. Request in the referral a telephone call from the urologist's office A.S.P. as to whether they will take you on.

Well. After a TURP surgery, my husband was having pain, which I know happens, however, after…read moreremoval of the catheter, he was unable to "evacuate" his bladder. After having the second catheter inserted there was burning pain & told him he didn't know what to tell him, he'd have to keep it in for 2 weeks cause he was on vacation the next week & if he Dr. said if he had a problem go see his regular Dr., which we did. Guess what...UTI! Why wouldn't a Urologist run a urinalysis hmm?? Very condescending!!

I…read morehave a history of coronary artery disease and eight coronary stents placed over the past 20 years. I told them this. My EKG and initial troponin were negative, and from that point forward I was invisible. I sat in the waiting room for four hours. No monitoring. No IV. No serial troponin draws. No cardiology consult. No one came to check on me. No one told me what was happening or how long I would wait. I was a cardiac patient with eight stents and active chest pain, sitting in a plastic chair next to everyone else. After four hours with zero treatment or communication, I left. The next day I went to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. Within hours I was in the cath lab. They found a 99% calcified occlusion of my right coronary artery -- so severe that a balloon couldn't open it. The vessel cracked during the procedure. They had to use a cutting balloon and place a stent to save the artery. My troponin was zero. That means my heart muscle was starving but hadn't died yet. I caught it just in time. If that last 1% had closed while I was sitting in your waiting room with no monitor and no IV -- I would have had a massive heart attack in a plastic chair with no one watching. I understand you are understaffed. I understand the ER is busy. But a patient with eight stents and active chest pain is not someone you park in a lobby and forget about. If you don't have the capacity to triage a high-risk cardiac patient appropriately, you tell them. You facilitate a transfer. You do something other than nothing. Four hours of nothing nearly cost me my life.

X-ray is all they did, and it looks knarly. Didn't even make a consultation appointment. Do yourself a favor, don't take my word for it, read the reviews here. Unfortunately, the other one is almost as bad. I told my doc if I ever get hurt badly, I'd put a tourniquet on the stump, throw the part in the trunk, and head to Sacramento. This place is not fit to treat my dog; I like her too much.
