I went to this church for Easter Sunday as I was passing through town. Every single person was…read moreextremely nice, welcoming and just had a warm welcoming presence. The worship was amazing & most definitely moved the room. However, when getting to the sermon, one gentleman read one verse, and then they preformed a skit around the death and resurrection of Jesus. While it was a cute performance and I did giggle, after the 4th disciple actor came on stage, an hour had gone by. I ended up leaving before the end of the service. For a Sunday...especially Easter...with the current heat of the times we are in... being in the word is vital. On a Sunday where we could strengthen our relationship with God, change hearts and make disciples, glorify Him, expand on His teaching and lean into His word... I fear it was missed. We need the truth, the word, so we can become disciples and plant mustard seeds of faith. We don't need feel good sermons, we need the truth. Again, I thought the skit was so cute but maybe for a Saturday where those who want to attend in their free time can.

Their previous pastor retired and they replaced him with a teaching pastor. My family recently had a memorial service hosted at Mountain Road Church in Fruit Heights, UT. The…read moreservice was officiated by interim Pastor Reverend Chris Bower, a personable and compassionate man. The church itself is pretty and layed out well. Everything is tip top shape, clean and welcoming. The ladies (and gents) that put out the spread of food and beverages were very thoughtful to be supportive of the family in our time of need. I really appreciate all that they did to make our time of grief a slightly less difficult transition. While they lost a member of their flock (our relative Marilyn Ramage), it is my hope that if you are new to the community of Fruit Heights, or are looking to find the sense of community that joining their church can bring, that you will be welcomed in with open arms the way that our family members have been. I scanned their website and it appears to offer MANY programs for the community, offer childcare during services, and opens it's hospitality center for other functions as well. This is the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. It's 253,015 sq ft & is the largest Latter-day Saint temple by floor area. It was dedicated in 1893, it is the 6thtemple completed by the church, requiring 40 years to complete, and the fourth temple built. The temple was closed in December 2019 for remodelling & seismic renovations as the temple since on a fault & is prone to earthquakes. It is scheduled to reopen in 2026.

Wonderful tour by two sisters whose names I forget! Our tour lasted 1.5 hours as we asked many…read morequestions and connected well with our tour guides. We received Books of Mormon and our guides asked us many engaging questions, including what our favorite part about Jesus is. I appreciated their welcoming attitude, as I was with my girlfriend (lesbians). Going into it we were unsure what to expect but we had an amazing experience.
